If you have QuickTime Pro, you can convert FLV to MP4 very quickly. I use it to convert YouTube vids to audio-only MP4s for iTunes (I've found that VLC inserts audio glitches.) In QT Pro 7.6 for the Mac it works like this: Open the FLV file in QT. File > Export > Export: Sound to AIFF > Save (takes only 10 secs to convert a 5 min song). Close QT. Now open the .AIF file in QT. File > Export > Export: Movie to MPEG-4 > Save (takes 10 secs). That's it.
Its video capture software, you can go on cnet and search through the variety that they offer, my favourite is camtasia and thts what i would recommend
