  • I prefer to live in the past when it comes to music

  • @BrianHassanBadi modern music is good, just not mainstream.

  • @idontevenhavestuff your right....but I think you don't get the same "magical" feeling nowadays

  • @BrianHassanBadi right on bro

  • Andy does like this song, and Andy does own the album (And most other Pixies records). Irritatingly, Andy still refers to himself in the 3rd person. What a douche.

  • I love the lyrics in this song. I just really like how they write their songs, plus it has great musical accompaniment.

  • Geez, look at Black Francis's brain trying to push out of his head...Still, when you create music like this, what do you expect...

  • got a train derailment...

  • My opinion - probly best song ever written. Best song they wrote for sure.

  • @rumbia12 hard to say, planet of sound and gouge away are fooken immense!

  • @157DedGooksKilled IMHO - not even close to this :)

  • The Pixies!

The coolest band in the last 30 years. When I first heard them on the radio and MTV, I thought "wow, people are getting smarter and more sophisticated in their choices as listeners". Ever since their emergence, it seems pop music has taken a downward slide from there. At least we got to enjoy them while they were here. Now we have to endure the black eyed peas and lady gaga.

  • @marvinshenk yea its the idea that ever since 2000 the world is now all kid friendly now

  • @marvinshenk Ever heard of Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Michael Bolton, Richard Marx? Yeah music was so sophisticated back then.

  • Muito bom!!!Curti demais!

  • Stumbled across this while enjoying a big bottle of red and taking myself back 20 years (or so). One of the best songs ever, for no other reason then you can hear the tension in the music. To this day, its very original, sharp and to the point. Fabulous. And yes, I am that old that I was there when it all happened, don't even get me started on the stories I could tell you about Kim and Brighton. Amazing band, good times, will live forever. Just my opinoin you understand.

  • 1)motorway to roswell

    2)all over the world

    3)into the white

    4)ana

  • the pictures looks like a young marble giants ripoff

  • AWESOME ONE OF THE BEST SONG EVER!!!

  • This is the greatest outro to a song ever, followed by #13 Baby and Alec Eiffel. The greatest band of my generation by far, outside of maybe radiohead, in my opinion, of course. The last two or three minutes of this song makes me feel indestructible.

  • Gouge Away..................

  • This song kicks ass, one of the many favorites, too many to mention, off Bossanova.

  • My favourite Pixies song. No contest. This is the sound of Isaac Brock wanting to start a band.

  • @blarghieblarghie My favourite too.

  • @blarghieblarghie It's on his top 5 songs of the nineties, no surprise.

  • @blarghieblarghie Kinda thinking the same thing. When I first heard Float On and Ocen Breathes Salty, I immediately thought of the Pixies

  • Frank Black vs. Jack White... O.o

  • @LPxxxGoW

Frank Black rocks so hard that he once jacked white and his seed was given a record deal. That band was The White Stripes.

  • @LPxxxGoW no match... frank black all the way...

  • @LPxxxGoW ....if you're a music snob.

  • @LPxxxGoW that's close but black francis would win

  • @LPxxxGoW that's close but black francis would win

  • Best band ever. I LOVE YOU KIM!

the other side of the moon is not

    :-)

  • @HarpoonTorpedo

    when one side is hot

the other side of the moon is not

    it's scienctific logic !!

  • @kbdkbd99 "Maybe some time. They'll make it a ride". who knows..

  • I think a lot of Pixies songs sound completely different from others.. Bleed, Debaser, Broken Face, Rock Music, sound almost metal/punk

There are a lot that sound very New Wave like River Euphrates , and a bunch that are very alternative sounding...

I love a lot of their songs, at the same time cant stand a lot as well.

  • i hate these slow songs. love pixies early stuff.. the only good song on doolittle is crackity jones and on bossanova hang wire and allison.

  • so great track!!

  • so great track!!

  • La sombra de Bowie es innegable, por eso me atraparon hace ya....

  • I love this song.

  • Mega, mega track! I never understand it when people say this album isn't among the Pixies best work. For me, this and Doolittle are their greatest.

  • I love the final part of this song :D it makes me hallucinate :)

  • I used to love Nirvana but when I heard the Pixies, there was no going back. They don't compare to anything.

  • @ThePieIsLie I seen both live.they are both great bands

  • @ThePieIsLie I have seen both bands live(not at the same time)Nirvana great Pixies great

  • 1 all over the world

  • @1978deus i didn't mean it like that, tough i see how it could be interpreted that way. i love every single pixies song since i was 17 (and i am waaay older than that). but i meant that they are no divas, no stars, and with the possible exception of kim not really interesting as "persons." still, they managed to create one of the best sounds ever, and certainly one of the most unique. watch loudQUIETloud, a documentary on the tour, to see what i mean... best...

  • Brutal, velhos tempos...

  • @jokaro1974 :)

  • Petite pensée pour mon pote Renaud. Good song ;)

  • they so ripped off Nirvana.

  • @Westlake72 or not

  • @Westlake72 It's the other way around if anything. Kurt said they were his favourite band and he was trying to sound like them on teen spirit...

  • @pigeonhammer I know, I as just being silly.

  • @Westlake72 Ah thats okay then :)

  • @Westlake72 not be an idiot, was the other way, they inspired nirvana, do not write bullshit

  • @LAVIBORAGS I was joking my angry little friend.

  • @Westlake72 no it's the other way around

  • @Westlake72 NO. It is generally a very well known fact that Kurt Cobain worshiped the Pixies. This plus the fact that The Pixies came well before Nirvana. In relation to 'Smells like Teen Spirit', this is a quote by Kurt Cobain. "I was trying to write the ultimate pop song. I was basically trying to rip off the Pixies." There are many articles and interviews with KC in which he describes his love and admiration of the Pixies. You don't have to dig deep to know this fact.

  • @mainandmizzen I’ve already said I was joking at least twice! (see below). xx

  • @Westlake72 Sorry, didn't see those other posts. Doesn't matter anyway.

  • @mainandmizzen This is true!

  • I suppose it is a tribute to North England life, Boston and exchanging it to touring

  • With a pet at my side. God in the sky. Snow falling down. Freeze my body to the ground. I can't ride but one more time, I will ride... All over the world <<<< I love this song!

  • science math and music yes

  • The nine people who dislike this song listen to Justin Bieber....

  • El año ke estuve trabajando en Sta.Cruz se me hizo mutxo + llevaderocon el Bossanova de Pixies, y sobre todo este tema ke ponìa a toda pastilla en el kotxe...

  • There are only a few modern bands that you can say changed how people thought about music, the Pixies is one of them.

  • from 3:00 music is having an orgasm

  • Better call the Ranger...

  • Bossanova is my favorite Pixies album. Alien surf rock in a minor key with uber-creepy lyrics. Great stuff. Takes me back.

  • stfu know-it-alls, we also have access to wikipedia

  • @1337huntard and lsd

  • heyyyyyyyyy, le 2 juin a Nantes

  • Muy autenticos.

  • the mini solos are fucking orgasmic man, they are gods :D

  • 0:42 Joey Santiago for the win!

  • Theyre chances of meeting were slim to none, but no one would disagree that this chance meeting was a miracle from some sort of powerful deity whose only mission was to create a band the likes of which no one had encountered before....the likes of which would move people to the core so much that they couldnt help but listen to this great band everyday of their life. These people were blessed....the world was blessed. Pixies continue to live on.

  • Que rolon !!!!

  • th beatiful song <3 !!

  • this song proves how much pixies she is and was all over was ..Kim rocks ! makes black sound right !

  • Pixies are the greatest band of all time. Every song on every album is incredible.

  • @FaxanaduJohn I am a pixies fan since I was only 16 and I am 36......... they´re up there with the greatest bands ever... But let me say they arent the greatest ever...... the greatest pop band ever are the smiths without any doubt... They are in two different categories.

  • @johannesjuanes Well, I like them better than The Smiths! Personal opinions and all that!

  • ...Prozac by soundwaves.

  • better call the ranger, got a train derailment...

  • This song is so beautiful.. And the voices, so cute

  • absolutely one of my favorite Pixies song

  • Love Love Love the Pixies! Im sorry to all of you who like Surfa Rosa, but Bossanova, Doolittle and Trompe le Monde is where its at dont get me wrong I like Where is my mind just like the next guy but begining Pixies fans out there "dig for fire" and find these glorious hidden gems! you will be happy you did!

  • never understood the snobbishness attached to the first album ( i think thats what your getting at ) loved bossa nova ( even more so given the fact it got panned ) to me in my humble opinion was the complete pixies album

  • @lilnasty59 I have to say that I prefer Surfer Rosa, Come on Pilgrim and Doolittle, but Bossanova and Trompe le Monde are great too. Hey, we're talking about Pixies, of course all their albums rock! =D

  • @Suppeelsker True they are all good i was speaking to the audience that just found the Pixies, not the avid listener like yourself (just got surfer rosa on vinyl 3 days ago btw) I was just saying you appreicate the less popular albums as you listen to them, gotta love Frank Blacks solo shit as well (teenager of the year, personal fav) anyhoo dont get me wrong I love those albums! Peace to you fellow Pixies fan and have a great day!

  • @lilnasty59 Very well said....& I agree exactly w/ what you said.Nice.Stay Frosty!!

  • Fudge! It's been a long time since I last heard a Pixies song. I met them with Bossanova. Some arse recorded me a tape with Nirvana's Nevermind on side A and a weird band called Pixies on side B !!! :-) I had to punish myself for not knowing these guys earlier than 1992 !!! :)

They rock ALL OVER THE WORLD! weird tones, unique vocals... Pixies are great, are superb, one of the best bands ever!

  • i was just curious, is this the longest pixies song?

  • I think it is the longest song thay made

  • Ya se me habian olvidado los pixies, no me lo perdono, inspiracion de Kurt y del grunge, lo maximo!

  • supreme

  • Pixies are fantastic!!!!!!! I will see them again this year live in Ferrara, Itlay, the 6th of June! Go Francis go!!!!

  • Bossanova was the first pixies album I bought after hearing a couple of tracks. I love it more than any other.

    Death to the haters.

  • @intentions666 Frank Black's influences include some incredibly mainstream acts, like the Beatles. I ask you, and I imagine he might too, what is wrong with making music that appeals to a lot of people?

Also, I don't see what about this song is particularly mainstream. It's long, ends with kind of a downer vibe, and is generally wierd overall--namely, it's the last thing you would try to write if you were trying to please everyone.

And for the record, I think this song is incredible.

  • @bocuster good point, also think the song is incredible

  • @bocuster

"it's the last thing you would try to write if you were trying to please everyone.

And for the record, I think this song is incredible. "

    -Exactly why its incredible.
