Personally I didnt care much for all the other final fantasy games, but 13 was the one that drew me in, I liked the story and the whole mythology that surrounds it, To me all the characters were likeable even hope who had his annoying moments, Finished the game at at around 30 hours, overall I thought the game was great and the visuals were just amazing that alone was more than enough of a reason to play the game. Can't wait for 13-2 it looks even better.

in my opinion, FF13 was terrible. The gameplay was slow, and took hours into the game for it to get interesting. The story was average. The characters were a bit strange themselves, with the exception of Lightning. Btw, Vanille creeped me out a lot, and i found Hope to be annoying. The soundtrack was below the Final Fantasy par, with pieces not too memorable. There's no song that's as good as Aerith's Theme or Dancing Mad or many other FF pieces. All this game had was graphics.

true final fantasy 13 didnt suck...i also noticed that i was the only person who passedi Vasher "i thought to my self "is it just me". but out of all my friends i was the only one who actually finished the game. it was good in everything...

HOWEVER the side missions were great ! ended up playing it for 80h trying to get all the trophies :)

Final Fantasy XIII WAS great, it just didn't live up to the hype.

Hopefully, Versus XIII won't be hyped too much.

i hope this ff13 vs will be TOTALLY different from 13.13 was too linear and the world and scenary exploration sucked compared to previous ff games. my "stupid" hope : combine the gripping plot of ff7 + world exploration of ff 12 + the era (present?) of ff8+ combat system of ff12+ some funny moments from ff9 (example: zidane touching garnets ass by mistake and saying "oooh soft" )xD.well its just a ff series fan fools hope :)...

how I miss medieval final fantasy. I wish they make a ff for ps3 (not gonna happen) in a world like FF4 with dragon knights flying airships medieval castles dragons etc.

i dont get it? why would square enix release a ff game called ff vs 13? does it mean that the new ff game will versus 13 in terms of better gameplay? graphics? story? characters? or does it take place in the same universe as 13 did? or is it just gonna versus 13? i dont get it

it's been so many years and people are still asking this question?It's part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis(new tale of the crystal),or FF13, compilation. If you're a long term fan of the series you should know how the earlier games, 1-6 revolved, or involved crystals, right?and then 9 brought them back?this is like a reutilization of the crystal theme.Versus and Agito are in the same universe with the same crystal myth - they all involve l'cies, for one. this compilation is supposed to mimic 7's.

@EsperTinaVI thanks alot, i havent played any ff game before 7, the ff games i only played, and enjoy are ff7 instant fan from the start, ff9, ff10 and recently ff13, and i cannot wait for ff vs 13, it looks like a good one, funny how the main protaganist is a spitting image of cloud, i hope theres a female character that acts like yuffie, a sneaky ninja thief too immature for her own good and yet can still kick some ass

@asskickingness06 of course Noctis is the spitting image of Cloud, they're both designed by Nomura :P i hope vs13 is good because it's supposedly the make-or-break game for the series, even though Agito is supposed to come out before it. i wonder what happened to Noctis' friends? i heard they redesigned them, like they did Noctis. I was disappointed with FF13, and i've become bored with waiting so I've joined the Tales fandom. I can't wait for January!

@EsperTinaVI yea, square is taking a leap of faith setting the game in modern times, but i think they will pull it off, this just might be a successor to ff7, who knows, anything can happen of course, i hope by jan2011 some gameplay footage will start floating around on youtube or they might go for a closed curtain kind of deal, if anything i know i will be playing this game when it comes out, playin it on my ps3 hooked up to a 40' 1080p hdtv, im not bragging, its a fact

@silvertigrex compared to the massive games they used to have? 13 was so freaking linear...you couldnt level up alot, you couldnt search for ways to get you ahead early in the, you couldnt customize...all you did was press x over and over in battle-no strategy...the story was lame along with dumber more annoying copies of old characters...the whole thing was just boring from the beginning

@jaredbaseballfan another moron who mashed the X button and didn't like FFXIII. ppl like u make me laugh.Mashing the X button was available for ppl who sucked at the gm.There are countless # of combos u can do in FFXIII while fighting. U just suck at the game and mashed X.U didn't get the story, it confused u and that made u angry, so u say the story was stupid when in fact it was actually very awesome. Not the best FF story, but 1 of the best. I feel sry for u,that u were unable to enjoy FFXIII

@Fish61324 oh please dude the story was pretty easy to follow once you figured out the 5 different versions of the lcie or whatever but compared to any other ff game ive played the story sucks balls and ive played ff6-12 including tactics and their stories, gameplay, and characters were so much better than 13 except lightning...and almost all of 13's characters were copies of past ff characters

Final Fantasy 13, The Story is Great, The Fighting System is Great, The Graphics are Great. I cant explain why i had a hard time fully enjoying the game. maybe all the hype made me expect too much of it. while playing it i felt like i was making myself grind through the game, i thought to my self "is it just me". but out of all my friends i was the only one who actually finished the game. maybe it was the playable characters. i only liked using lightning. but Overall I'm still glad i played it.

@vasher05 I can totally understand where you're coming from. I absolutely loved the game. Everything about ti was awesome. I just... >.< It's like the favourite game I had but probably won't play again. Sort of :P It's hard to put your finger on it. I'm emotionally inclined for Lightning though so :L I'll come back eventually. Hope XIII-2 is gonna be awesome.
