  • One plus three to oversee; and if one be lost, what a cost (life is life); and then two retreat with agreed seperation to meet up again somewhere else in the Nation, whose formula of recruitment and action be the same as that other one of three, who retreats and one may never more see, but life will be, two seeds of three.

  • one of first slovenian bands,or at that time still yugoslavian

  • Heil!

  • :D

  • harsh and brutal.

  • One of the best covers EVER.

  • No dobra - wiem wiem, przepraszam. Kolejne aż do Opus Dei, akceptowalne.

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • 4:13 ......Spirit Bomb

  • Pierdoleni faszyści!

  • @at3usz Ty jesteś jakiś pierdolnięty? Gdzie Ty tutaj widzisz faszyzm?

  • @at3usz Pomysl troche zanim cos napiszesz. To nie Doda......

  • What an awesomely deep voice! I just discovered this band today & can tell already I'm going to want their albums & hope they have some video/DVD out too! Wow.

  • Respect

  • kaj piše na tistem subliminalnem sporočilu na 2:01?

  • @barbikabarbika "POTOMCI! OSTANITE SI EDINI, DA ZAMAN NAŠO NISMO KRI PRELILI."

  • i love this voice.

  • the original was better.

  • before Rammstein, before Marilyn Manson, ... was Laibach ! Laibach was the beginning !!! since 1980 !!! Respect !

  • have to say, like the patriotic Romanian song ...

  • yeah I have to say, this version really pile-drives the original.

  • Master trolls or greatest trolls in recorded human history? Meaningless tautology as heroism... oh, how those poor fuckers must have suffered on the other side of the Iron Curtain.

I, for one, welcome my smirking fascist overlords.

  • Laibach isn't a fascist band, they just play with Nazi's and USSR's iconography and symbolism. When they turn a "universal" anthem like Life is Life into a military march, they want to show us that our democraties smell like fascism, because we all get formated the same way : something like "be positive, or become a marginal".

  • @1981Badfish Actually, i think the style change makes the song more uplifting, empowering to succeed at life.

  • The name "Laibach" is the German name for Slovenia's capital city Ljubljana

Laibach formed June 1st, 1980 in Trbovlje, Slovenia (ex-Yugoslavia)

    Hail from Serbia!

  • I like Laibach, but i think this clip is pretty funny! He remindes me Freddy Mercury in some scenes :)

  • German? LOL, what's this world coming to, when people think Laibach is a German band...

  • tits!

  • I wonder why the German verse towards the end got taken out of the video.

  • Don't say stupid things... those guys are not nazis ...

    They fought against sovietism...

  • @Dreamskiller666 THANK YOU finaly someone with brains

  • Comment removed

  • @Dreamskiller666 not sure whether their nazi's but their album has swastika's all over it

  • @hoswasp so what? Swastika ISN'T nazi symbol as many cultures across the world used it before the Nazis and the Asian still use it today

  • @hoswasp ho and forgaot: Laibach definitively AREN'T nazis ;)

  • @hoswasp there are no swastikas on any Laibach album....

  • @koskar

Actually the lyrics to this song were printed beside a large swastika made up of four axes. This was on the inner sleeve of their Opus Dei LP.

  • Hail LAIBACH from Slovenia !!

  • Funny video..love German industrial metal! :))

  • @ClaireSusanneMoore1 Laibach's a Slovenian act. ;-)

  • @ClaireSusanneMoore1 slovenia.

  • Genius. :-)

  • Oh noes, there goes my innocence @ 0:02 :(

  • At 2:27 when the waterfall is going backwards. Blows my mind.

  • actually the waterfall isn't going backwards. It's the famous waterfall of Idrija, it's located in the areas of quicksilver mining where river started going backwards since the exploatiation of the ground. The whole river goes backwards and down-up.

  • @xerfes .... So it still goes backwards.

  • This guy reminds me of a viking.

  • correct association

  • Laibaich from NSK was here even befor war period. Which is more than 20 years back now. First and only ;-) All the rest are bybies.

  • I don't know if I like the "MTV"-stuff - like you said. MTV is unappealing to me. - But yes - I dislike what I have heard from Laibachs- Volkswagner stuff. - I would prefer the real Wagern always over this.

By the way- this life is life songs seems far more MTV-like to me than Geburt einer Nation, which MTV would most likely never show.

  • Of course I respect your opionion. :-) I also don't like all stuff of Rammstein. I dislike their "greatest hits" Amerika, Pussy or Benzin. I like Weißes Fleisch, Heirate mich (harder) or Frühling in Paris and Amour (softer)

So what are your favorite songs from Laibach? What would your recommend to me? Maybe I haven't checked it out yet. Has Laibach for example done only one good softer or "love" song? Until now I always thought Rammstein has a "wider-ranging" repertoire - for more moods.

  • and the cross thing - I can't believe the Rammstein members sat together and thought - hey -lets use a similar symbol like Laibach. That would be bad but well I don't believe it. So it is most likely coincidence or both band used the same sources by searching for a symbol. And well some kind of cross is nothing it as very hard to think about if you are from Europe.

  • ... Wirtschaft ist tot, Geburt einer Nation, Das Spiel ist aus... is like a "hit single" with video clip for MTV...so,that is why may be that you love them... is a good song..but not the best material from Laibach...

  • Now sorry to make a parallel between Rammstein and Laibach... German culture or not..is inevitable...its like thatrammstein pieces do not touch me..

  • for me it's just a "entertainment" band...

... that is why I write these words about this group..but respect for the fans of rammstein...

  • Well and the best songs of Laibach (in my opinion Wirtschaft ist tot, Geburt einer Nation, Das Spiel ist aus) are so heavily inspired from German cultur, that you can't blame a German band using things like this.-Laibach is a band very much covering: This song and many others. Even their "anthem porject" is a kind of coverign national anthems. The Vokswagner stuff again inspired by German cultur. So-Laibach fans should be cautious to blame other band a copy only because their are same parallels.

  • I disagree. For example the "softer" songs of Rammstein has nothing to do with Laibach. Seemann, Frühling in Paris or Ohne Dich for example. By the way the Ohne Dich cover of Laibach is far more "childish" than the Rammstein song. And - at least in Germany Rammstein has many fans in their 30s or 40s. The "teenager" argument doesn't fit, because I bet Laibach has also many teenager fans.

  • Every minute of the future is a memory of the past? That's awesome.

  • When members of Laibach were asked by an interviewer about Rammstein "stealing" from them, they responded that "Laibach does not believe in originality... Therefore, Rammstein could not 'steal' much from us. They simply let themselves get inspired by our work, which is absolutely a legitimate process. We are glad that they made it. In a way, they have proven once again that a good 'copy' can make more money on the market than the 'original.

  • so is allways the puipl is better than the master after learning both have something both r in theyr weise good

  • @ocramez - First - I like Laibach very much. But second, to tell Rammstein a "copy" is very arrogant +untrue. Laibach themselves copied (or "stole" or "got inspiration") from others. And if it is only the use of German language (which was a trademark of them in the beginning) or their clear reminiscences to things conected to German culture (like the Third Reich aesthetics). Rammstein was inspired by Laibach, yes,but also by DAF, Kraftwerk, some German traditions and many others.

  • yes you re right! Laibach too, inspired by german band from 70's ...and others kind of music.-which is absolutely a legitimate process say members of Laibach.but when I listen Rammstein,I recognize laibach more than DAF, Cluster, or conny plank's production.

  • with the cross, the group's logo, attitude, derision, the pseudo provocation etcetc ... REFER laibach more that can or neu!...

  • they just have no concept.Rammstein is just the Laibach frome teenagers, is just the laibach from the radio..and making money

  • no it isn´t Rammstein!

  • @electronic4child it's not Rammstein, but Laibach inspired Rammstein, dixit Till.

  • @electronic4child why bother with that joke of a laibach copy?

  • LAIBACH

  • if they indeed murder opus song it is a service to a tortured humanity

  • and whos sings this ,intresting song and what of he movie has it got a title ?

  • The movie you speak of, you just watched. It is a music video for one of Laibach's songs. As for the vocalist, his name is Milan Fras.

  • What is that on his head? I've seen it in several of Laibachs videos.

  • DEATH POP

  • you are wrong! genial cover!

  • sounds like an useful comment

  • Sounds like you can't appreciate fine art.

  • 2:27

    that waterfall is definitely wrong...

  • no kiding

  • lol xD

  • i reckon looks like its goign backwards

  • coz it does :D

  • @bloodyblade no, u're not the only one, there are tits. But keep in mind that this clip is from 1985, so these nice little tits are, today, around a fat granny's belly^^ !

  • 2:29 is good xdd

  • boobies at 0:03 XD

  • This is a song thst was released way back in the early 1980s by another group if song form.

  • it says ZANAMCI OSTANITE SI "EDINI" ZAMAN NASO NISMOKRI PRELILI

decendents stay true to ecother we didnt sheed blood invain

  • it says:

ostanite si edini zaman naso nismo

    Now translate it!

    its slovenian methinks...

  • Subliminal message between 2:00 and 2:03?

  • Good point! I googled for "zaman naso mismo" and found just one Spanish site where someone had noticed that too.

  • what does it say ?

  • I have no idea.

  • It's somewhat ambigious inscription on a chapel of WW1 graveyard in Ukanc. At least to me. One of translation cuould be: Descandants! Be assured that we didn't shed our blood in vain.

  • exatly :)

  • It's a burial cross. No, it is not.

  • Auf den Lueneburger Heide? Is there a video?

  • powerful imagery disgusts the inferior

  • Well said.

  • shit, my last comment was meant to be a reply to XDoommaster 1994. Soooorrrry! read his post and u know where my answer belongs! :-D

  • arschloch!

  • lol that was fun

  • Wow, sound is way off with the video.

  • fail.

  • typical stupid 14 year old

  • how fucking sick. someone who did not undestand any thing. entschuldigung, aber da kann ich nur "dumme sau" sagen. :-(

  • Check this out:

Take a pop song and remove everything but the main melody.

The result is this industrial- martial sound.

    The message is:

Pop music is fascism, not Laibach for telling you that!

  • I couldnt said it better. Salute to you.

  • grande salutation NS ...

  • mama tje nazi!!!

  • they r not nazi you fool

  • You really don't understand Laibach...

  • trops trops bien !!

  • what a brutal voice :S

  • The best are foresters' uniforms.

Bullshit, these guys are not nazis.

  • That guy with the turban is one happening man.

  • greatest bend from former yugoslavia.

  • i saw this band in the 80s and they were great i partied all night with these guys in dallas and they are what you think they are

  • pwnd

  • Hahahahah.

  • Pitty, you are so far away from the reality.

  • I saw this video on MTV 15+ years ago, and was glad to rediscover it here. Laibach understands symbolic manipulation in their art, and there's a whole philosophy behind the NSK art collective. Fantastic!

  • awesome !!!!!

  • This is true, but they use it to expose the secret fascism in modern society.

  • at martinpravda: are you up to seek fight or are you just acting as if?

Laibach is not interested in money. they just want to warn people of several dangers of society.

  • so?!?!?

If you were a small time media group trying to fight the system and the very people you were fighting then offered you mega bucks to carry on with what your doing would you say no?

  • Only hypocrite i see here is you. Why? . The answer is simple You Against The World.

  • You ignorant idiot.

  • Those comments were ment to "martinpravda"

  • Laibch are superior: they can make waterfalls run backwards :D!

"And we gave all the power, and we gave all the best, and everyone lost everything nd perished with the rest!"

  • That a lot of people stay in doubt or see in things like this, that they are nazis, stalinist or something like that, talks very well about their symbolical work.

    Viva Laibach.

  • are they comunist? i cant understand

  • yea... industrial bands in general aren't nazis.

  • Its difficult to explain but they are basically parodying all controlist people to show just how stupid it is. Could you take a guy seriously with a bad tash and thigh length boots? A lot of people are still scared of Saddam and Hitler...

  • wow, brings back nice memories ... when we were younger and (slightly) more clever. Laibach meant really something to us back then. Best regards from Croatia.

5/5 donc...

  • Gosh NO RACISTS, NO FACISTS, NO NAZIS ... LAIBACH/NSK go read on wikipedia or google... GOD...

the best is that they think we Polish are last who got spirit of slovians =] Thank you Laibach band... Thank you... but other are too slavic...

  • Laibach rocks

  • this song is based on wagnerian-style of music. theres nothing racist about it

  • He IS cool! \m/

  • sorry, but you do not know a historical background of this music, so shut up
