she got bit because in the video if you seen the horse flinched near the pommel of the saddle. The saddle must have been hurting or rubbing against her.
She got bit because she was not paying attention to her horse, and that is also the basis of what she was doing wrong. If she wanted to show how to do it, she should of explained what she was going to do before, and after saddling up, not at the time she was doing it.
hahha thats funny all talking Audrey not paying attentionn and then all of a sudden AW SHIP! HAHA lol i subbed! and then she is about to cry when she shuts the camera OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've seen a rider last week that allows the horses to crowd into her space and allows the horse to be "barn sour" along with being REALLY mouthy for treats. I don't judge her, but I also don't allow horses to push me around, either. If I want them to stop, I let them know. I don't hurt them, but I tell them that they're invading my space and I don't like their behavior. At the end, the horse was respecting my space and my own way of giving treats without using his teeth to go after my treats.
I've seen girthy horses before, some who will nip as soon as they feel the girth tightening. Maybe she isn't, but usually if they're girthy, they've had a bad experience where someone just yanks the girth too tight in one pull on several occasions or even trained that if they bite, they don't have the girth tightened like that. What I usually do is tighten it hole by hole while pushing the horses head firmly away if he tries anything and rewarding him if he doesn't try anything.
Okay ppl she knows what she is doing she had her friend Shelby put it on and they probably know more than you! They are like advanced riders and do this probably everyday it's easy to make a simple lil mistake get over yourselves and bash on ur own sorry ass life because they don't need ur critisim they actually have lives... Good ones!!!
OMG, what really pisses me off is that all people do is sit on their arses leaveing nasty comments on other people vedios, well guess what..... i would love to see you put up a vedio, cause get what YOUR NOT PERFECT so stop leaving bitchy comments, and if you dont like it dont watch, and go do somthing else with your sorry excuse of a life, thes girls are just trying to help and all your doing is giving them greive....
i totally saw that coming when she was putting the saddle on and the horse started to pin her ears lol thats why even with the most "quiet " horses i still watch them no matter what
um sorry to be snobby, but you kinda slammed the saddle on the horses back, and also, you put the girth on wrong. you're supposed to use the out side straps and the middle one is a back up. plus your horse is i bit filthy. i am an offender of not always giving my horse a proper grooming before i ride, but you should at least do her saddle spot. sorry, im really trying to not be bitchy, but im a stable management instructor, and its my instinct :) but your horse is hallarious =D
@sghorsegirl Well, from what my instructor told me you put match the holes up on the right side, and use which ones match up so it doesn't get uneven. I always use the first(closest to the head) and second, I never use the third one. Also, you're a tad young to be a stable management instructor.. Unless that wasn't you in that, "My horse is dangerous:JOKE" video. Although, I do agree she should have brushed her horse's saddle area off first.
@Kitsunegirl1212 i commented on that video, u were looking at my feed. im 14 and i have been tacking up by myself since i was 8. and i tack up 20 horses a day, bc i work at a barn. some boarders ask me to tack up for them bc im so thorough. just saying, age doesnt matter.
@sghorsegirl People asking for your help doesn't mean that makes you an instructor. People ask me for help all the time, but I wouldn't consider myself an instructor at all. You would be considered 'knowledgeable' not an instructor.
@sghorsegirl AND JUST BECAUSE SOMEONES BEEN AN ELECTRICIAN FOR 40 YEARS DOESN'T MEAN HE WON'T BURN DOWN YOUR HOUSE KID.....DON'T BE SO ARROGANT.... THAT HORSE BIT YOU AND YOU DID NOTHING TO CORRECT THE HORSE.....YOU JUST MADE A HUGE MISTAKE
@epona202 It matters if your horse hasn't been trained for both sides. My aunts horse would flip out if you saddled him from the right side. but one of my 2 doesn't care he just wants the saddle to get put on and go. But he likes to go and really doesn't care how that going happens.
@gumball207, I was taught that you put on your pad and saddle from the left, attach the girth first on the right side and then buckle it on the left. That's how everyone I have seen does it.
@gumball207 You put the saddle, and saddle pad on the left side. Then, you put the girth on the right side first with the non-elastic side, and put the elastic on the left.
I always remembered this when taking up : eLastic goes on the Left, and it goes on Last (just remember the three L's) Hope that helped!
You should maybe groom your horse, and clean the saddle pad. Dont walk behind a horse, even if they are really really calm. And you have to put the girth through the little slot/hole thing, on the saddle pad, before you do the girth up.
Ummm your supposed to put the girth on to the leathers on the outside, not the one closest to the horses head and the middle one. The middle one is an extra one in case one of the others fall off. So you are supposed to put the girth onto the one nearest to the horses butt, and nearest one to it's head. Not the middle. :)
it doesn't matter which ones you put it on it's a personal preference. i use the first and third one but thats just cause i was taught to do that but i know some people who do the first and second or second and third
PLEASE REPLY: Omg I love you so much your amazing you help me out with so many things i started lessons again and have a question...what type of treats do horses like especially 26 year old ones
@emloveshorses100 carrots and apples of course.... or peppermints.... or butterscotch... but any weathered horseman or woman might disagree with the last two... just sneek it, my horse loves em :P
my horse is really girthy and a good tip is to tie the reins up to the stirrup on the oppisite side to where your doing the girth up hope it helps!!!!!!!
Love it for all those who say that the saddles to small many it's not many the horse just doesn't like having it's girth done up mine bites when u do up her girth and when u puck up her front hooves but only the front weird I know =:)
OMG r u ok? that looked like it hurt! well anyway can you make a video on how to put on a halter? i know how i just want some one to make a video like that haha. anyway...pretty horse. what kind?
ur so stupid! first of all when you go behind a horse u have to touch it while ur going second of all thats not even an english sattle but i guess ur to stupid to know that and u were so un carfull that you got ur foot steped on by a horse and your friend had to tell u wat to do through out the video, do u even now how to ride?????????
@riuuygirl if you would read what it said on the video you would know that the real 13horselvr is filming NOT the person putting on the saddle but i guess you're too stupid to do that too
omg that happend to me someone was do the girth up for me(dunno why!) and she yanked the girth up so tight my horse turned around and bit me on the arm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!my arm was blue and grazed and i just said to my horse "you little bugger!" loll!!!!!
@123xxhorsexx123 why do you need a vid?? while your walking your horse bring you inside rein up and put your inside leg on while looking were you wanna go and about mid circle swith you rein and leg aids and push your horse in to the rail, that is called a tear drop ( because it looks like a teardrop) and its also what most judges look for at breed shows in flat classes do you still want a vid??
@123xxhorsexx123 check with your instructor, and ask them to go over everything with you, and if hes still bad then just ingore your equitation and PULL im around any way you can you dont have to use alot of force (i dont know wich bit you use, but i use one that is a transition bit between english and western, its also my gaming bit) but dont give the pony the option of doing anything but what YOU want, i often play the oposite game with my arab, if he wants fast, i MAKE him go slow and so on
my cousin had never used an english saddle but she wanted to try it. her girth wasn't on tight enough so her saddle slid to the side and she fell off. it was funny though. but i deffinatly see what we did wrong lol
you guys are awsome i love ur videos, ive learned alot like how to french braid and gallop bareback (im new to riding horses, well i used to but i quit for a while) keep making those videos, could you make one on how to jump with a saddle or bareback plzz thnks
Hope shes ok! My horse does that every now and than. its cuz the girth is pinching there girth (Under arm XP) and so each time i raise a hole i streach out his frount legs :D so he doesnt bite :D of miss mare there is in heat and having a bad mood XP
I hope y'all didn't ride that horse she is in serious need of grooming but ouch for the bite I know it hurts one time my friend had me tack up her cranky old stallion in the fart bit me right on the stomach lol it hurt like he!!.
I hope that horse wasn't ridden after this. She was filthy. I know it would be very uncomfortable for me to have to carry a pad, a saddle and a rider with dirt grinding into my shoulders and flanks.
@HiddenHeartsCry the horse wasen't ridden, I mean I really doubt it. They where only shwoing how to put a english saddle on a horse, not how to ride it. And after it bit Shelby they probably just untacked him and turned him out or something :)
ha, we have a stallion, and he but my arm, but reaalllyy bad, he grabbed hold of my arm and yanked it, it left a hole bite out of my arm, and it was bruised all the way around where he bit me for three months, i now have a scar and an indent where he bit me, and it is scared kinda blackish from the bruising, so dont feel too bad :)
It looks like she got your side, when your arm was up. So it must of pinched your skin badly! A puppy bit me like that, and it hurt xD well, you gotta watch those ears!! lol
haha this almost happens to me alot. im tightening up his girth...and well hes gained a bit of weight so he acts like hes gonna bite, but then he just gets too lazy. its quite funny actually.
I ride western but have an english saddle pad (not sure why...) but i was wondering, it has those straps (?) on it too up by the whithers...what are those for?
Shes just like my horse!!, My horse HATES the girth...Her ears pinn back and she lunges at me. but yeah its always good to keep an eye glued to them haha Sneaky little guys haha :P. ITS ALWAYS the mares too...My old horse NEVER kicked..Bucked bit or anything he was just a sweetie..But then after 2 years I got another horse..But this time it was a mare..Shes a crazy mare..She bites..kicks..Bucks...She's just a shooowww haha :P
I know its your horse you can do what you want and all that shit but..
Everytime you walked to each side of the horse you got very close to the back of her and i know "your horse doesn't kick" But if he was to get a fright he may of reacted in that way.
And you should always take caution to your horse by looking at him every once in a while to make sure she won't do what she just did.
@Deniseewow actually its good to get really close so if they do decide to kick the cant get as much force into the kick but if your a few feet away the have more time to get more force into the kick
Ouch that had to hurt poor Shelby

When you put the numnah on the horse you could see she wasn't happy just look at her ears!
Also she was giving you clear signs that she didn't want the saddle on, you went to get the saddle she turned away from you
When you put the saddle on her back you put it to far back it needed to be further forward
She also kept looking at you as though she was gonna bite you and turning away

my cousin had never used an english saddle but she wanted to try it. her girth wasn't on tight enough so her saddle slid to the side and she fell off. it was funny though. but i deffinatly see what we did wrong lol

flowergunner 10 months ago
Maybe it just pinched the horse the wrong way when she was tightening it and the horse reacted
jessyrulz94 10 months ago
@jessyrulz94 No, the horse was angry during the whole video and turned her head as a warning a few times.

I hope that horse wasn't ridden after this. She was filthy. I know it would be very uncomfortable for me to have to carry a pad, a saddle and a rider with dirt grinding into my shoulders and flanks.
HiddenHeartsCry 1 year ago
@HiddenHeartsCry the horse wasen't ridden, I mean I really doubt it. They where only shwoing how to put a english saddle on a horse, not how to ride it. And after it bit Shelby they probably just untacked him and turned him out or something :)
FireyFriesian 11 months ago
ha, we have a stallion, and he but my arm, but reaalllyy bad, he grabbed hold of my arm and yanked it, it left a hole bite out of my arm, and it was bruised all the way around where he bit me for three months, i now have a scar and an indent where he bit me, and it is scared kinda blackish from the bruising, so dont feel too bad :)
and i said much more than shit its okay ;)

@HorseRiderForever812 Some horses don't have a very high wither bone thing :P It won't affect the horse in any way

ITS ALWAYS the mares too...My old horse NEVER kicked..Bucked bit or anything he was just a sweetie..But then after 2 years I got another horse..But this time it was a mare..Shes a crazy mare..She bites..kicks..Bucks...She's just a shooowww haha :P
kDOTsProductions 1 year ago
No offence.
Please don't take this seriously.
Otherwise she is a beauty.
And sorry if this isn't you.

Yeah i noticed that after i posted the comment sorry bout that
Deniseewow 1 year ago
@Deniseewow actually its good to get really close so if they do decide to kick the cant get as much force into the kick but if your a few feet away the have more time to get more force into the kick
