sonic 06 didn't "create" unleashed gameplay, I would say it was inspired by the rush series. there was nothing new sonic 06 had to offer, all was mostly stuff rehashed half-assely from sa 1 & 2 as well as heroes. Sega had a tight schedule because microsoft pushed sonic team into releasing the game half a year too early. ergo lots of stuff weren't even finished,the powerups etc

This is my first game that I brought when I got my wii and when I got home and start playing it, I really like but there were some stuff that i didn't like are the story was short and I beat it in 4 hours, the game was really easy and the boss fight was the same but like bit different (ex:zone 1 & 4 boss) and I really like sonic unleashed (360version) game more then sonic colors because unleashed was harder, longer and the sonic daytime stage was faster then colors stage but I still like sonic
@TrueTexican940 at least sonic colors didn't pad the game with bad hubworlds and werehog gameplay...I would rather have a short and sweet sonic game than a sonic game with half-assed gimmicks and bad pacing..but it's a matter of taste I guess
@SonicCircuit Much darker and much worse. SA2 story had the right balance of complex but understandable. But Sonic 06 story was just bad. Lots of plot holes and a total joke of itself. Sonic kissing a underage human princess? Seriously SEGA? I prefer the kiddy story of this over Sonic 06.

Sega should just continue to make Sonic games like this. Personally I love it and its gonna stay with me for a long time to come. However, there's always gonna be a crew of whiners who'll bitch to no end complaining or finding some flaw in the game or the other with the excuse that they're "just not satisfied". @imperatorofman i appreciate how you like the new Sonic series but ive only liked the classic sonic series. Sonic Adventure and 2 were still good and had a decent value, but if criticism didnt exist, producers would not know what people like and what they dont. I did not like the voice actors for Sonic the Hedgehog before this game (Griffith for Sonic and Palant for Tails; both of which really suck imo). But seeing as Higgins and Smith are better than the other 2, it might get better.
@imperatorofman The next sonic game may be bad, or good. I personally like Kate Higgins for Tails a lot better than i did with Amy Palant. I would have perferred Tails to sound kinda like Philip Fry from Futurama (voiced by Billy West, one of the best voice actors ever). But im not complaining with Higgins and Smith is perfect for sonic.

I'm playing Sonic since his early 2D years as well and I appreciate what Sega's tried, though not always the best. Alot of the game's lines were real cheesy though..

Sure it wasn't an actual SA game, but the formula was basically the same. 2. You use all the characters differently in each level
3. There is treasure hunting, when Rouge had to find the keys and when everyone had to find the chaos emeralds
4. The Chao Garden does exist, in the first Silver stage there is a street sign that says "Chao Garden", that was in the future of the city meaning that in the present where the game begins the Chao Garden was still there.
5. They all come together at the end to try and stop the evil, just like in SA1 and 2

@bensonmunch Apart from Sonic Unleashed, I can't think of any other games that had a "dark and edgy" storyline. Even Unleashed was ridiculous (like most sonic games are). But I hardly play the games for the story, I play it for the gameplay and ignore everything else *to the best of my ability, some things are simply so horribly bad you can't ignore it)

@Sedalb Sorry for late comment but have you experienced SA2's story? The story in SA2 is so dark it fits in a hard-boiled cyberpunk movie. But that's as dark as it gets for Sonic.

i sorta agreed with you slightly about the 'sonicness ' thing, but all the gameplay mechanics are there in 3d, whilst maintaing a 2d feeling of simple straightforwardness. ya cant argue with that. and really, thats wat everyones happy about, yes? the gameplay? like they finally got just sonic racing about , in cool 2d , 3d worlds. thats the best thing we could ask for. thanks sega!

Sega should just continue to make Sonic games like this. Personally I love it and its gonna stay with me for a long time to come. However, there's always gonna be a crew of whiners who'll bitch to no end complaining or finding some flaw in the game or the other with the excuse that they're "just not satisfied". @imperatorofman i appreciate how you like the new Sonic series but ive only liked the classic sonic series. Sonic Adventure and 2 were still good and had a decent value, but if criticism didnt exist, producers would not know what people like and what they dont. I did not like the voice actors for Sonic the Hedgehog before this game (Griffith for Sonic and Palant for Tails; both of which really suck imo). But seeing as Higgins and Smith are better than the other 2, it might get better.

@imperatorofman The next sonic game may be bad, or good. I personally like Kate Higgins for Tails a lot better than i did with Amy Palant. I would have perferred Tails to sound kinda like Philip Fry from Futurama (voiced by Billy West, one of the best voice actors ever). But im not complaining with Higgins and Smith is perfect for sonic.

@BillxMach There are those who criticize and then there are those who just plain whine and cry... I was talking about the latter who do that for almost every Sonic game. I'm playing Sonic since his early 2D years as well and I appreciate what Sega's tried, though not always the best. As with Tails' voice, yeah, he sounded bearable this time instead of trying to go with some squeaky, cutesy voice..gah..Who knows, maybe he finally hit puberty? Alot of the game's lines were real cheesy though..

It seems like the only mode of transportation are flying cars or ridiculous highways and grind rails the someone just felt they should put into the architecture of the city.

I recently played through both of those games on my GC and realized they aren't as great as I remembered. @ERTLPFM (READ MY FIRST REPLY FIRST) ...want to switch back to this one, because it isn't what you're used to. Have you played the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog? It failed epically. Sure it wasn't an actual SA game, but the formula was basically the same. Although Sonic Colors is a surprisingly fun game though, and it's probably the best for the series if they stayed in this different direction. All I can say is just give it a chance. I'm not arguing with you, I just wanted to voice my opinion.

1. You get to play as multiple characters
2. You use all the characters differently in each level
3. There is treasure hunting, when Rouge had to find the keys and when everyone had to find the chaos emeralds

4. The Chao Garden does exist, in the first Silver stage there is a street sign that says "Chao Garden", that was in the future of the city meaning that in the present where the game begins the Chao Garden was still there.
5. They all come together at the end to try and stop the evil, just like in SA1 and 2

He was intended to save nature from over industrialization by crazy and goofy mad scientist in a cartoon world. Putting him in a realistic human based setting was wrong and completely out of place. @Jsierra2001 I didn't want to take my chances on getting it for the Wii at first considering how often I've been disappointed by modern Sonic games, but after I played it on DS and seen some of the gameplay videos I want to get it again for the Wii now! lol First game I'll ever have for two systems XD but this game deserves it, they did it well and it's still fun on the DS during break at work.
