The Finnish guy says: "It is so fun to meet another Finn in here" (btw "onpa hauska tavata toinen suomalainen täällä" is also a very delighted greeting because of the "onpa" word) -> and then she slaps him for no reason except to escape from the situation before no one realizes she does not know Finnish at all. The movie was even funnier when you knew Finnish yourself. : D

I would have thought so, too, but after seeing Hugh Dancy's work in Adam, I became an admirer, and so I googled him to see what else he's done. C.of S. seemed too fluffy for his depth & range, but let me tell you, it is a really fine movie after all. He knew the value of it when he signed on -- it is NOT as it might appear at first: superficial, silly... Actually, there are some deep themes with serious contemporary relevance -- REALLY! The trailer is a bit misleading, though. Recommend!!

yes i read the books also. I am on Shopoholic and Sister.

I dont believe they will make a second movie because if you have read the books (which you did, right?) dont you realize that they use bits and pieces of all the books (mostly 1st and second) for that movie.

Example: In the second book she accidentally gets recognized as a waitress. they used that in the movie.

Anyway just saying..

there is a whole seires of books but this movie is a little different because in the book shes english and it doesnt talk about when she was seven. if they decide to make a number two it will probably be named after the second book, shopoholic takes manhattan. then shopoholic ties the knot, shopoholic abroad, the secret dreamland of a shopoholic,and shopoholic and sister. if you have not started reading this seires you should start soon. and in the book she does not slap him she just runs away.

i went to c it yesterday and i though i would love it b/c isla fisher was on it and b/c is based on one of my favorite books but it was ok, nothing like i expected it, so much different from the book [i think thats why i didnt like it like i expected i would] oh and they made Rebecca seem all stupid and shallow

if you havent read the books go watch the movie first and then start reading them maybe that way you'll like it more
