I bought the D3000. It's like the upgraded version of the D60 because it has improved specs, and it's replacing the D60 as the new entry level DSLR for Nikon. :)
so whats the different between the d40 and the d60..im trying to get one soon and i was thinking about a d60 instead but the d40 look the same like the d60 too. cant really make up my mind.
The D60 doesn't have liveview so you have to use the viwefinder (the sight like you call it) when you take photos, but as far is i'm concerned that's a good thing.
i know this is like the stupidest question but can you record video with a DSLR? i am a begging in photography and i am thinking about buying this camera kit. Please Reply! Thanks!!!
heyy, you mean you're a beginner? or beginning? lol- well the answer to your question is YES! on some higher end cameras (around the 1ooo dollar mark) DSLR's such as the d90, canon 5d (not sure which model though), the d500 and a couple others feature video capturing abilities (i think all are capable of high def 720p i think). but they're still working out the flaws. since its new tech. i'd say- stick with a camcorder for now until they make it standard with all dslr's and when its cheap :)
@cooljamesbeans true to a sense but remember the output quality of the camera matters when you are at the professional level. do not EVER reffer to stock photography as professional as it is a degrading medium to working photographers who struggle to put food on their tables.. thank you children for bring your DSLR's to highschool and thank you uncle bob photographer
you're a retard man... sorry but this is the truth. Not the camera makes the photos, but the photographer... and if the photographer is a techno-boy or a measurebator (note: ken rockwell) the pictures will suck!!! The only thing that still matters to say... is a better lens eventually but all other things are technical gimmnicks from the marketing guys trying to sell more and more cameras. Do you think Ansel Adams had dust-reduction? Or stop-motion? :)

fetthunderdome 3 years ago

Recon9143 3 years ago 4
Do your homework kid, many advertising companies admit to buy stock photography which were produced by entry level cameras.
DX? FX? who cares! its the skill level from the photographer that matters

Should my Nikon D60 make any sounds when the sensor cleaning is taking place? My Canon XTi did, but my D60 doesn't...
fromshadowlands 3 years ago 3
It's normal, the cleaning process is very quiet.

This is very true. But it's also true that you cannot do the same kind of pictures with an 8Mp lumix PAS that you can with a DSLR.

the D60 is a piece of shit the D40 is better than the 40x and 60
but D80 tops them all
i love my D3 & D80
haha
ichirootaniguchi 3 years ago
"I BUY HIGHER END MODELS, THESE MUST SUCK"
But anyway, the D60 is better than the D40/X because of:
1. Usually available with a 18-55mm VR lens
2. A dust reduction system
3. A better processor with Active D-Lighting
