  • There were many 3D games before robocop 3D on the amiga. Check out hunter and also carrier command or stunt car racer. Also, regarding copy protection, this robocop cop game came with a "dongle", described in some amiga magazines as "about the size of a matchbox". I still have it.

  • This is the game I think of when I'm considering how far we have come in the fps genre. Sure Doom or Wolfy was the 1st but they arent true 3d. This was the 1st full 3d game I came into contact with & being a Robo fan it blew my mind. I'v never forgotten it & it gives me an appreciation of modern graphics. Kids today dont realise that even though they may suck by todays standards, games like these were once utterly amazing & totally new steps in gaming.

  • lmao, bansley lad as roboBab.. i used to play this game all the time in the early 90's on my amiga, some levels are pretty good but the game gets repetitive.. as for the discs they are 880k disc and the amiga never supported high density floppies, however it could read pc ones.. im not 100% but i think robocop 3 was hard drive installable.. great upload by the way... :-)

  • @GodofLegacy Yep I double checked the box and its HD installable :)

  • Seriously, people commenting on this game do not have a clue. This was one of the first playable 3D games, it ran on a basic A500 and was awesome not "ok for its time" - absolutely bloody amazing! When this came out, no one appreciated it simply because the idea of "3D Games" was so knew, people literally could not understand it. But this game is one of the BEST examples of truly playable 3D action.

  • I shall keep an eye out :)

  • Was an okay game loved the intro music, it was way better then the film.

  • Pretty good for it's time! Didn't know Robocop had a 3D fps game for the Amiga! But its sometimes pretty hard to differentiate between enemies and hostages :P

  • That's why I failed so miserably :( Right from the start I killed one by accident.

  • How did ROBOCOCK penetrate the building? He doesn't have a todger...

  • Oh dear lord.

  • Hey Keith do you reckon this would work on a A500 with the 1mb expansion? I have a severe lack of games for my Amiga and I really like the look of this one!

  • Just had a look at the box and it says it supports the A500, A500+ and 1mb Recommended. So I reckon it would run on your system :)

  • Cool, this is FPS!

  • Good vid! One of the first 3D Amiga games in 1991! Erm, no!! :)

  • There's more games like this? :o

  • Some cool music and sure looks cool

  • Cheers for uploading this Keith! Just how I remember it, I quite enjoyed this game back in the day. I remember the driving sections well, they were pretty damn good! You should definitely give it another try. Shame the film is poor. Robocop the original has legendary status though... :)

  • I seem to have blanked the 3rd film from memory :p

  • Wise move! lol.

How many good quotes did the first film have?

    "Your move creep"

"Dead or Alive your coming with me"

"Come quietly or there will be... trouble"

    "He's a cop killer"

    Brilliant! :-D

  • It was also behind the first time I ever got grounded as a kid. My dad had a copy on tape and caught me watching it late one night. I was about 7 at the time. But what a film.

  • Ha Ha great! Oh and I forgot one of the most memorable:

"I'd buy that for a dollar!"

I remember being 9 or 10 years old and playing the arcade game at my newsagent before school in the morning- bloody brilliant!

  • Bah now I want the arcade machine!

  • what a game

  • that game looked to be around waaaayyyy before it's time. it looks like a SNES Super FX game.

  • Yes I was thinking this myself.

  • You know Lorf, I was never a fan of the movie Robocop 3, they should never have let Frank Miller do the script of it. But... Im quite amazed by this. A game thats based on a movie I dont like, made by a company thats more or less my arch nemesis.. This really doesnt look bad!

  • Besides Sin City has that man done anything decent?

  • He did revive the Batman-franschise back in the 80's, but it was about one really good issue. So im gonna say "no"!

  • Cool 3D game on the Amiga. Thanks for showing this. I need to get myself some amiga external floppy drives as my internal drive on the A500 refuses to load floppies :(

  • Plenty of cheap internal ones on ebay :)

  • looks pretty good for it's age

  • Looks good ;o)

  • Oh I have VERY fond memories of this, It was absolutely brilliant! Spent hours on it!

    Excellent gameplay video.

  • you killed Robocop! lol

  • Wow, an Ocean Game that is really enjoyable. XD very rare I guess.

  • This one, and Parasol Stars for the NES. Otherwise, Ocean was never a good sign!

  • is this the robocop game for amiga that had that wierd dongle thing you had to plug in the back to get it to work or is that robocop 3? lol i can't remember :)

  • Nope this is dongle free!

  • must be 3 then i just remember this wierd octagonal dongle thing that they came up with to stop the game being pirated lol

  • Great video, i remmember the car bit on this game, but its not a game i ever got on with, think RoboCop 2 was better.

  • Good one! Do you have any games that came on cassette tape? Now that's a strange loading noise! LOL

  • LoL nnooo Amiga games are always on disk.

  • Amiga disks are 880k.

I had this game back in the day, and really enjoyed it. I may still have the disks somewhere, but I lost my manual so can't do the passwords... *rolls eyes*. Loads of games I can't play any more coz of that copy protection.

  • Its such a pain as quite a few of my games come with daft copy proctection that require the manuals. With a lof of them I actually find myself looking for pirate copies.

  • Amiga floppies are DD (double density), those with the extra holes are HD (high density), just so you know ;)

love the amiga stuff man, keep it coming!

  • Cheers :)

  • have you tried to sort out the focus on your camera it might be on spot focus

  • Yeah does it at random and doesn't seem a way to stop. Usually happens if theres a sudden change of image and colour.

  • you would think cameras these days would be ables to coupe with things like that, seeing as your cost like £250+. unless you got a deal

  • I picked mine up for £220 :) Which was a good deal for a HD cam at the time. It usually copes quite well but when it comes to TV's and monitors I've always had this issue :(

  • Wow thats an awesome way to choose levels, pick the news headline! Lol!

Nice gameplay, I guess your packing stuff up now for Sunday.

  • Nah I'm rubbish at packing so everything sbeing thrown in the case Saturday afternoon :p
