Some of you guys make intelligent comments - but those of you who say you crap your pants obviously need some therapy - Metheny has only got where he is through hard work and practice and by developing a sound marketing strategy - apart from that he is a human being with foibles and quirks just like anyone else so, even though he is brilliant, if you idolise him then you demean yourself - I've played with him and he doesn't frighten me !
sometimes the best sound is to not play for a while. there's a piano player playing chords already behind pat's solo. (perhaps the other guitar came in later in the solo, but we don't have the whole clip so we don't know). i think he's showing good musical taste by laying out.
Hahaha awesome. I'm trying to think of some actual genuine praise for your comment that won't come off as sarcastic when reading it, but I can't. I'm surprised some Metheny fan with no sense of humor hasn't come along and 'burned' you yet.
Very few musical masters take the stage at such ground-roots stuff. Metheny=legend!
@EchoCannon89 Yeah, Metheny was made a music teacher at the University of Miami at the age of 19 because he was, "O.K.," Dude, check out the volumes of stuff starring Metheny on Youtube, and be prepared to be blown away.
i think you guys are very polite but you would be suprised i think he would actually bring out the best in you if you were up there playing with him it would be (fun) thats what scares me about the guy hes like a kid with a guitar everytime he picks it up like a toy he just cant sit down im waiting for his next release ill savour day trip for awhile yet though, the tour was great 2nd row first time i ever saw him and it wont be the last.....
no need to geht excited, this is just as mentioned " Blues for Pat " and is quite relaxing and slow hollidays blues.
