Virtually all of us who've owned an exotic would've still purchased the car even if it only did 0-60 in 5.5 sec, and had a top speed of 160mph. The main reason folks like me put their money down on non-U.S. cars in the past, is mostly because we like the way the car LOOKS, sounds, etc.. and the fact that not every tom, dick, and harry has one. I think the Corvette is one of the best cars in the world, but I loathe the interior, and styling, and would rather have to look at my old 308 instead!
there is a upgraded interio option...and with a few hundred you can make the interior ppretty nice....hard to look at it though as youre hurtling to 60 in 3.6 seconds..lol...I like the Batmobile look myself. i have a 07 Zo6 2lz and a loaded cept for recaro's 09 CTS-v....+ my hot rod GTO which has great seats and a viry nice stock but simple interior. leave it to the Aussies to make a nicer American car!!! The Gallardo has 5hp less than a Corvette, and cost about 4 times as much. So then you could upgrade a corvette to it's max power, max out the break's, max out the handling, and all that other shit so that it would have about 900 something horsepower. You would still have close to a 100k left over to do what ever you want to with for the price of a Gallardo.

Bang for buck in terms of speed then yes the Vette wins hands down but this is like comparing a Bentley to a Taurus for Luxury and quality. I think stock for stock a new Noble is more than a match for a Corvette. Some of those Nobles are beasts. Having said that, the Corvette is a great car with lots of racing history and GM could build a car that could kick the shit out of a Noble if they chose to put their resources into that type of thing.
The z06 has carbon fiber 1/4 panels, fiberglass hood and doors. The only thing that is "plastic" is the bumpers. Let's not even get into the magnesium engine cradle or roof support, titanium valves, sodium filled on the exhaust side, or Ti connecting rods. The noble on the otherhand is a kitcar. And would still lose (Please reference topgear laptimes for proof).

...and the ZR1 does over 74mph in a slalom exercise, has one of the best engines on the market and performed exactly the same as a Lotus Exige S in a recent braking test. Don't give me that bullshit man. That huge engine weighs less than a lot of smaller engines too. Weight matters.
The Edo is not a production model either. If you want to go down that road, a Pratt & Miller C6RS would beat it if they ever ran it on the ring. So would the Ultima GTR and Caparo T1 and they are all street legal.
The C6RS could not touch the Edo.. just like those ligenfelter corvettes etc.. you can put all the power you want in a car but you need a European chassis to really excel.
And of course the ZR1 stops much quicker than an Exige.. it has carbon ceramics on it..
And yes the caparo T1 and Ultima GTR would be faster.. Wait for the Gumpert Apollo, Ascari A10 and the new Noble M600 to do their official laps.
It is nothing like a Lingenfelter. It is built to run a race track, not in a straight line and it does it very well. Look up some of the numbers that American cars put on a skidpad and slalom exercises and they are right on par with everything else. They haven't run the Aero or S7 TT Competition either. They get a bad rap because lots of dumbass Europeans are bigoted even though they really do both perform very well. Apollo and M600 will do very well too. They should run the CCGT!
They are good, not saying they arent.. but they will never be able to achieve the cornering speeds and agility that european chassis can offer..
The ZR1 has a higher skidpan reading than an Enzo but its irrelevant because on a track or in a straight line, the 6 year old enzo will leave it for dead.
Dude its just a Corvette. Its not a hypercar. It is not built to be an Enzo killer. The fact that it is even being compared to an Enzo is impressive. It is still way better than anything similar to itself which is all that really matters. The leaf spring thing is kind of funny and I would care a bit more if they didn't work but the thing is like a second behind the Enzo on the Nurburgring. As long as that is going on I can't really criticize. Whatever formula they are using is working.
Porsche's are uglier than dog crap. I wouldn't pay half of what the MSRP is on those cars. Also, once they get a little bit of age on them they're a dime a dozen. I see middle class college kids driving them all the time. I see them being sold used at Ford, Chevy, & Honda dealerships. Porsche's are close to being considered as regular sports cars instead of exotics. I see Corvettes turning heads all the time, can't say that for Porsche. They're just glorified hatch backs. The Porsche has a classic shape... and whilst I admit there are much prettier cars for the money, they certainly arent from america.. I can only think of one good looking american car, the Ford GT.

The Lambo Gallardo might be a work of art, but it got raped big time by the Z06, like in all the other videos here on Youtube!...so what gives??...European V10 can't keep up with American V8??...that's an extra two cylinders and more horsepower, and it still lost to the Vette??...how embarassing!!...I feel sorry for the Lambo owner!

The Gallardo has 5hp less than a Corvette, and cost about 4 times as much. So then you could upgrade a corvette to it's max power, max out the break's, max out the handling, and all that other shit so that it would have about 900 something horsepower. You would still have close to a 100k left over to do what ever you want to with for the price of a Gallardo.

Lets see you could buy a vet and then upgrade the hell out of it making it way better than that piece of Italian trash, but you would still only have to spend 1/2 of what the Lambo would cost. Sounds like the Gallardo "sucks big time" to me.

Ill smoke a ZO6 with a damn Corolla if I put 60,000 in to the Corolla...
As for the Vette being modded to be the same price as the Lambo...
well a lambo is HAND MADE and actually had great build quality while a Corvette is more comparable to a damn Cobalt in terms of quality.
Hand made is always better and more expensive. Thats why the Lambo is a better car buddy

Your right, I was just commenting on the most bang for the buck though, besides that the Gallardo doesn't even have Lambo doors, and It is it's self a Lambo. That just seems wrong to me. The Vett has 505 horsepower stock, how much does the Gallardo have? I did not ask that to sound like an asshole I really do not know, how much do the have.

Bang for buck in terms of speed then yes the Vette wins hands down but this is like comparing a Bentley to a Taurus for Luxury and quality. Is it worth the extra 150G's? yes if you have that much to blow on a car, otherwise.. no. Id personally buy a used Supra or something for like 25 and smoke both of them.
Lambos cannot be compared to Chevrolets when price is a factor.

I think stock for stock a new Noble is more than a match for a Corvette. Some of those Nobles are beasts. Having said that, the Corvette is a great car with lots of racing history and GM could build a car that could kick the shit out of a Noble if they chose to put their resources into that type of thing.

The Gallardo is a different class the Z06... its a luxury GT car with 5.0l engine that is built for refinement and responsiveness not outright power..
the Z96 is a plastic car with 7lt and kit car build quality..
have a drag with a Noble M400 and watch it leave that corvette behind

The z06 has carbon fiber 1/4 panels, fiberglass hood and doors. The only thing that is "plastic" is the bumpers. Let's not even get into the magnesium engine cradle or roof support, titanium valves, sodium filled on the exhaust side, or Ti connecting rods. The noble on the otherhand is a kitcar. And would still lose (Please reference topgear laptimes for proof).

and on that test track the Z06 beat the M15 by .01 of a second.. however their newest car the M600 would rung rings around the corvette.. you forget the corvette isnt a precision handler, nor are they nice to drive.. the only thing that keeps them in close contest is the huge engines and poor build quality

If there were a contest The Corvettes power plant has been rated number one. I have read and heard different people say take the engine out of the Vette and put it here. Here being the car they most desire from suvs to ferrarris. I personally know for a fact that GM has built an awesome machine that has all the imports shaking in there shoes. CORVETTES VS THE WORLD. Luxury and sports cars sell very well even in Economic Crisis. Passenger cars and suv's don't.
And that's the same for European, Asian or American car market. There are many passenger car manufacturers that are struggling everywhere.
Manufacturers like Porsche or Ferrari don't have any problems because they don't sell anything else than sports cars.
The Corvette is a very well built quality car. GM suffers trough mismanagement and failing passenger car sales.

Do you even know what a Radical SR8 is? Its a goddamned open seat race car that they pass off as a production car on technicality. Its probably unsafe and unreliable as hell too. No major car company in their right mind would build that thing. Also, the 6:55 raped every other production car on the ring including whatever ones that you like so why smash the vette? I suppose you could bring up the Ultima GTR if you wanted to but it has a Chevy engine so you would look like a hypocrite.

...and the ZR1 does over 74mph in a slalom exercise, has one of the best engines on the market and performed exactly the same as a Lotus Exige S in a recent braking test. Don't give me that bullshit man. That huge engine weighs less than a lot of smaller engines too. Weight matters.
The Edo is not a production model either. If you want to go down that road, a Pratt & Miller C6RS would beat it if they ever ran it on the ring. So would the Ultima GTR and Caparo T1 and they are all street legal.

The C6RS could not touch the Edo.. just like those ligenfelter corvettes etc.. you can put all the power you want in a car but you need a European chassis to really excel.
And of course the ZR1 stops much quicker than an Exige.. it has carbon ceramics on it..
And yes the caparo T1 and Ultima GTR would be faster.. Wait for the Gumpert Apollo, Ascari A10 and the new Noble M600 to do their official laps.

It is nothing like a Lingenfelter. It is built to run a race track, not in a straight line and it does it very well. Look up some of the numbers that American cars put on a skidpad and slalom exercises and they are right on par with everything else. They haven't run the Aero or S7 TT Competition either. They get a bad rap because lots of dumbass Europeans are bigoted even though they really do both perform very well. Apollo and M600 will do very well too. They should run the CCGT!

They are good, not saying they arent.. but they will never be able to achieve the cornering speeds and agility that european chassis can offer..
The ZR1 has a higher skidpan reading than an Enzo but its irrelevant because on a track or in a straight line, the 6 year old enzo will leave it for dead.

Dude its just a Corvette. Its not a hypercar. It is not built to be an Enzo killer. The fact that it is even being compared to an Enzo is impressive. It is still way better than anything similar to itself which is all that really matters. The leaf spring thing is kind of funny and I would care a bit more if they didn't work but the thing is like a second behind the Enzo on the Nurburgring. As long as that is going on I can't really criticize. Whatever formula they are using is working.

Porsche's are uglier than dog crap. I wouldn't pay half of what the MSRP is on those cars. Also, once they get a little bit of age on them they're a dime a dozen. I see middle class college kids driving them all the time. I see them being sold used at Ford, Chevy, & Honda dealerships. Porsche's are close to being considered as regular sports cars instead of exotics. I see Corvettes turning heads all the time, can't say that for Porsche. They're just glorified hatch backs. Nothing more.

The Porsche has a classic shape... and whilst I admit there are much prettier cars for the money, they certainly arent from america.. I can only think of one good looking american car, the Ford GT.
A corvette is ugly and brash.. not bad cars for the money but they are on the same level as WRXs and Evos
If you know something about cars and now how to drive then you will think there is nothing else like a Porsche in terms of drivability and precision not to mention it can be used everyday...

I just read in one of your other comments where you said that ZR1's are the only good American cars. You're now a hypocrite. And Corvette's are not ugly and brash. I think they are some of the best looking cars in the world. They are better looking than any Porsche and even some Ferrari's. And Z06 Corvette's drive like a dream, their handling is top notch.

It still remains the only good american car but its far from perfect and far from competing with Porsche and Ferrari etc.
No car with chrome wheels, scoops and glass plaques on the front will ever be good looking. especially when they try and copy Ferrari's crcular tail lights and fail miserable.
Even your american car reviewers have named Porsche as the best sports car 9 out of the past 10 years.. let alone european reviewers who actually know what they are talking about.

Corvette was first produced in 53'.. and that had the bulb lights not circular lights like ferrari was doing earlier...
The SSC Aero is a kit car its a poorly built and ugly one-trick-pony.
Saleen S7 is rubbish and the Ford GT is decent, except it cant take a corner so defeats the whole point of a supercar.
ZR1 however is good for the money

- I don't like the uglyass Aero but it is quick, it beat road & track's slalom record previously held by the Enzo and it was built by a brilliant inventor. It deserves some credit.
-The Saleen S7 was and continues to be one of the best performing cars in the world and it is priced pretty well too. Don't let your general view of American cars distort your judgement when a few good ones actually are made.
