  • Ahhhh... I love climbing :D I'm not a PRO at it, but it's fun when you're atleast good... little more than good then... but, ya :D

  • I hate this marking or whatever you call it.

Where I climb in Sweden all grips in a problem are of the same color.

The color of the tape tells what difficulty it is. And a tape on two different grips means that you start with your hands on those two. If there are two tapes at one grip you start with both hands there. And if there is a tape in the end you have to grab it with both hands, otherwise two hands on the top edge if there is no tape

  • it must be impossible trying to hide the cookiejar from this kid

  • 0:33 hard topout. Nice job!

  • 5:30 <-- we got a little cheater here...Lol. na these kids are gunna be great someday.

  • @Baker11101 Yea that does happen a lot. They sometimes hit a hold that is off route. However, if you go back and watch the segment at 5:25 in HD(720p) you will see that he actually smeared above the yellow hold with the blue tape which was off route. He never actually touched it. One of his biggest strengths is being able to advance his position while smearing instead of using a foot hold. His extremely light weight enables this. I am not sure how long it will last. He is getting bigger now.

  • @Baker11101 5:25 wasn't cheating. However, 7:47 was suspect. He was supposed to start out with both hands on yellow and both feet on. The feet were simply useless for someone his height so he started with a jump start that was technically a fall. I think he got credit for the route anyway. It didn't really matter he finished dead last in the local comp and still had the biggest smile of anyone.

  • @mpgxsvcd how old is this little beast opf a climber

  • @koolguy21able He was 6 years old when this was filmed. He turned 8 last week.

  • @mpgxsvcd wow v2 when your 6 years old-pretty impressive.what grade does he climb now?

  • @koolguy21able Grade wise he is still about the same. He is climbing V2-V3 consistantly. However, he is so short that the moves he has to do to get an adult sized V3 are far different than what the other taller kids have to do. Just check out some of the more recent videos of him climbing by clicking on my name “mpgxsvcd” and viewing my channel.

  • That kids crimp hand is strong.

  • waht bouldering champion chip i dont see not champions where is danny woods at

  • Is the kid at 1:37 seriously wearing socks w/ his shoes?

  • Rise Up is awesome!

  • you look like incredible parents you always support him nomatter even if he falls with parents like you he could become one of the best rockclimbers in the world

  • looks like fun! The kids did good.

  • Awesome.

If he keeps that up he's gonna be in such good shape by the time he hits high school

  • hey man

    great little climber here

i am actually checking out rise up this monday for the first time on monday

havent found a good gym since i came to school (liberty university)

so thanks for posting this vid

    keep it up :)

  • @MrBluesweater I love the Rise Up gym. We are actually going up there for the comp this weekend. Definitely check it out if you are up for some great bouldering.

  • @MrBluesweater Heh, Liberty University. Hope you enjoy wasting your money at a shit university.

  • looks like a cool gym!

and nice climbing by your son, he seems to do really wel for his age!

what does he climb at the momment?

  • @EclipseSocietyCore Yea the Rise up Gym is really a great place to climb. He has the same comp coming up again in 1 month. He usually has trouble with anything over V2 because the reaches are too long for him. However, he has climbed some much harder routes that were designed specifically for someone his height.

  • @mpgxsvcd

that's really good for his age!

i hope he does well at 'rise up 2010' and that he becomes a great climber.

  • really gnarly shit man i dedicate this next bowl to you

  • thats pritty Cool. I seen a place like this around a year ago at a fair. and some kids wher climbing up them. but i dont think they wher as high as thes are lol. they did Good

  • Great little climber!

  • @EarthTreksClimbing Thanks, see you guys at regionals on Saturday.

  • Nice!

How well does the manual focus work for shooting bouldering? From your video it seems like it works fine. Ideas?

  • @lindbergola I started out shooting auto focus video when I first got the camera. The focus hunting really annoyed everyone who watched the videos. So I got a couple manual focus lenses and started playing with them. It is actually easier than you would think to shoot manual focus video.

Shooting manual focus pictures works as well but you have to be more precise with it since the resolution is so much greater. With a little practice it works though.

  • wow, that kid climbs really well!

  • kid can crush. damn.

  • Awesome - what a team!!! Thanks for posting.
