  • Does your afro ever become hard to comb at the end of the day?

  • Your afro is sooooo bomb!!!!!!!

  • Love, Love, Love your hair! I'm a newbie to the whole natural hair world. I'm transitioning and my last perm was July 2011. It is a hard journey, but watching your videos keeps me going! Keep up the good work!

  • @MixChick4ever You posted this on my video

@NotSoSkinnyGirl hey shaniqua, lastisha, shenanay, it's mixchick4ever not eva get the english language right which clearly you can't even write well let along speak it well. by the way I'm not mix with your people negro so try again little imbecile! have a nice one shaniqua bitch!"

Your a racist and im glad I now know your mixed with black so instead of being angry with you I now feel sorry for you for being so ignorant. And its Zainab :-)

  • @MixChick4ever Wait Wait I thought you just commented om my video saying you werent mixed with black and im a negro. So you are!!! WOW you little liar

  • @MixChick4ever It will get there It just takes some time. It was just picked out. I think it had been about a year and a half since my BC when I made this vid. Just let it grow. It was a braid out and I picked it to get the fro.

  • YOUR HAIR IS AWESOME!!!!!!

  • u have a lovely, healthy and nicely shaped afro.

  • Marry me!!!

  • impressive 'fro but that's not what i wanna know about......... i luv that shirt from what i can see, it's so art nouveau! where did u get it! please tell!

  • @fanatic709 I'm pretty sure I got it Kohl's dept store.

  • @Summyr1988 thanx for the info, i guess that's a wrap! the search for the perfect nouveau shirt continues!

  • wish i had a puff!

  • I love the dr. Bronner also. Good video and I love your hair.

  • where did you get the dr. bronners?

  • @cutflower36 You can get it at any drug store. I think I got mine at walmart

  • I AM LOVING YOUR FRO.. OMG.. WHY WON'T MY HAIR DO THAT!!

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR HAIR!!

  • You cracked me up when you was showing the label for the satin bonnet and you said "And there's this pic of the girl on the creamy crack" hahahaha toooooo funny!!!!!

  • Your hair is so beautiful! You are amazingly inspiring as well. Thank you for your info.

  • Your hair looks great!!!

  • You can find Giovini at Rite Aid Drug Store

  • yea the scurl product is good because of the glycerin so it keeps your hair moisturized, but i tried using it to set my hair......did not work at all......

  • Amen I love it too. Their is nothing like your natural texture of hair. I have been natural since 2002 and I love it I only straighten my hair now every 3 months to do a length check and I wear it straight just for 2wks because I wash my hair every two wks and I just cant wait to go back to my natural form. So many black females are getting back to their natural hair form and I just love it. If the crazy one's look at you strange then so be it because natural is so healthy!!

  • You are soooo funny referring to the Dr. Bronner's soaps as flavors! (LOL)

  • Love your Afro!! Can't wait until mines gets that big!!

  • @CurlyTopGirra7 Thank you!! :)

  • african american women are beautiful with their natural hair. the natural hair is coming back in, and women need to teach each other how to grow their hair. her hair is beautiful.

  • What type of products do you need? Like conditioner, shampoo, moisturizer, etc.

  • @TiaraIsMee I'm not sure I understand the question. What type of products do you need for what? To get a certain style?

  • @Summyr1988 do u straighten ur hair? how do u knw ur length?

  • @MsJonas09 No. I never straighten it. I check the length by stretching my hair with a braidout and then pulling it to see how far it goes.

  • What do you do to your hair before you go to sleep?

  • @liliblue When I wear a fro I do fat braids at night

  • love your hair

  • Hey just letting ya know i found Giovanni at Walmart on the Organic/Facial section.

  • you are soo pretty.

  • I just wanted to say that I love your videos, I myself are transitioning from locs to rocking a fro and I honestly have to say compared to my locs " I LOVE THE FRO"! THANKS A BUNCH!

  • I Love Love LOVE your afro!!! its gorgeous

  • Hey Girlie, how do you use the Dr Bronners castile soap??? I purchased the Hemp Almond today and im not sure how to use it as a shampoo... Do you use it directly or dilute it??? Also how often would you advice to use it in a month???

  • @sholanaturale I use it on my body in the shower and i use it straight to shampoo my hair. I wouldn't use it as shampoo more than 2 times a month. I would try it straight, and if it feels like too much, dilute it next time.

  • Hey Summyr! Your hair/afro or however you want to style it, is natural & beautiful!! I LOVE your hair! It's a shame something so beautiful & YOURS! is spoken about like it's something to be ashamed of" Do you wear your FRO OUTSIDE ' REALLY!?!?! I think it's terrible that so many dislike our Natural Essense, Our Flava!! Even US!!!

  • where did u get those oils? im looking for some to put in my hair and i dont know where to go lol...my hair stay dry and i wanna mix my own oils :)

  • @Anigurl1 The oils came from a nutrition store in my area. You could probably get it at GNC or something like it. Shea butter is the best stuff ever for moisture. I'm mixing my Shea butter with jojoba oil right now. My hair feels delicious. :)

  • I really think you have to hate relaxers and own how they destroy your hair over 'growth' in order to embrace and remain natural. Heat, other than from the sun, water, and lights I walk under, doesn't touch my hair. I'm saying I'll never flatten it, but I have no reason to like relaxers. It wasn't a fad for me when I shaved my head ball. It was the most liberating step I've ever taken. It was all for me. And I didn't care what other people thought.

  • Sweet Fro! I have viewed your videos before. b.) may I ask what is your texture?

  • @rebarenee7 Thanks. I honestly don't know about my texture. I don't pay attention to that stuff.

  • i would beat

  • OK, I love the frrrrooo, it is poppin'!! You be bold and don't worry about those haters, its beautiful and a gift from God!! Yes!!!!

  • I just found you today, but I'm subscribing right now b/c not only do I love your videos, but I LOVE your taste in music!!! Long Live MJ!!!

  • @candygirl2319 Aww thanks for subscribing. Yes I LOVE MJ!!!!

  • Hey hey! I've commented on your vids before! Love love looooove you!

Anyways, I keep having dreams that I'm gonna go back to being relaxed & it's scary!

I think it's because I am becoming soooooooo impatient with how long it's taking my hair to grow! It'll be a year on Halloween and I'll admit I'm kinda disappointed by my hair length.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong! I want it to grooow!

And I still can't style it! Any suggestions (again)?

  • @stanethia Hey. Thanks for watching my vids. On this journey we definately need patience. You should maybe try protective styling or just checking for length every few months to keep from getting discouraged. Also take pics of your journey so that you will see that it IS growing.

There is no miracle product or anything that will make your hair grow, the only thing I can suggest is to take care of it and keep a protective style when you can. That's all I've done.

  • Your hair is BEAUTIFUL! Just wanna say that. I am transitioning right now (started 3 months ago). It's been FOREVER but am trying to be patient.....Trying. Hope to get my length like yours someday.

    Trying!!

  • OMG..when you moved ur hair back and I saw ur headband I was like O.o hahaha Your fro/puff is fierce!!!! Ugh..I freaking love it. Natural hair rocks. =]

  • Thatz what i'm talk"M bout a afro a super large one at that how long have you ben growing yor hair out?? thats how i want minez its probally gon take me about 1 or 2 idk

  • That puff is KILLING... Love it.

  • Your hair is lovely but any product just about that was made for a jerry curl was made for moisture. I use the activator to put underneath the gel products since some of them have a drying effect.

  • lol creamy crack

  • I paused the video as soon as it popped up...Dear Lord, TWO fine.

  • Giovanni and Dr. Bronners are at whole foods also. Bronners also comes in a tea tree which is wonderful for hair and also for acne prone skin! If you like the No Drip you might like the Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1. I am so in love with this product!

  • if i could have half of your puff i would be happy...mine right now looks like a baby's fist =(

  • I'm glad to know I'm not the only one wear my 'fro in public and cute puff, thanks for posting

  • cute

  • LMBO!I didn't even see the headband!Girl you are supernatural!LOL!But it's gawjus!

  • 0_0 omg I love the puff. I am natural, didnt really transition did the bc and hated it. What do you do for you hair in the winter, I heard veggie glycerin isnt good for you hair when the air is dry. I live in Chicago and was wondering what is a good winter moisturizer?

  • @MsMeekz yeah I don't use the veggie glycerin in the winter. You should find a nice creamy moisturizer to use during those months. If we are still talking inexpensive I would suggest the Bronner Bros oil moisturizer. You can find it anywhere. It's in a white bottle with pink writing.

  • @Summyr1988 Thanks Lady.

  • That puff is magnificent! I cannot WAIT for mine. I LOVE puffs, wear them daily. I'm still in the TWA stage technically tho. Well in MY opinion I am. I was going to get the "jerry curl juice" yesterday and didn't. I'm going back to get it today. My hair has been feeling really hard to the touch, not soft at all. So, yea...:) Love your vids.

  • Am I the only one who thinks that you make wearing braces sexy?????? Cngrats on your new length!!!!!!!

  • @gaelle8t8 That's a nice compliment! Thank you. :)

  • They do have the Giovanni at Walmart

  • I loooveee NOW products!! I have the castor, jojoba, avocado, coconut n I think that's it...¿ I want to try the tee tree oil!!

  • You are adorable and I love that puff too.

  • Comment removed

  • So cute...Keep going with natural..you are inspiring me to post more...

  • @raeheard I didn't say in the video, but you can get them at health food stores like GNC and vitamin shoppe

  • beautiful hair!

  • Your afro is GORGEOUS!!!!! :)

  • i love love love your afro!

  • yeah....you have really have helped me through my process and you inspired me to recut my hair and actually do everything right and i actually (don't laugh at me) but i tracked your hair growth and tried to do a style you had around the same length as mine...if you can understand what i am trying to say...lol....but yeah lol

  • Summer you're so swee! I love watching your videos! Loving the fro' and puff as well! I think I'm going to buy me some s-curl too. I can use some cheap products being that I've purchased a whole lot of expensive products in the past including the "NOW" products. My purse needs a relief LOL!

  • Giovanni is at walmart...well at least at mine it is. my walmart has an organic/natural area near the face washes and what nots.

  • Wow ur hair is very long.

  • Giovanni Can be found at wegmans and T.J Maxx .. It got a giant conditioner from T.J max for like $13.

  • Your hair is awesome!!! and the PUFF IS REALLY (singing) FABULOUUUUUS!!!!!

  • Girl your fro and puff is awesome. Thanks for the product updates. Thats a big help.

  • Love the positive vibes! Love your vids!

  • Love the fro! Very nice...

  • i just wanted to thank you for this video. im so new to that natural hair community that in my vids im still talking about how im waiting for new growth lol. but im happy that someone has made a video about products that dont need to be ordered online because i was like sheesh it cost money to be natural but lets be real our hair is worth every penny

  • where can i find all the oils that you use??

  • @ladykhu2012 vitamin stores or whole foods.

  • the giovanni is at walmart, but where can u find the bronners clarifyer?

  • @Nitra813 I got mine at the vitamin shop, but I think they have it at CVS and walgreens.

  • That is the cutest puff ever..

  • @BlkSwirl223 aww thanks. :)

  • Hi Summry, I'm new to youtube as well as the natural process. I love your videos because you keep it simple and don't make the process seem so overwhleming. What do you do to keeo your hair looking moisterized. Alot of people I see that are natural hair looks so dry. What do you do to retain moisture?

  • @ilovetoseemesmile I use alot of stuff. In this video I used that S curl stuff it is really moisturizing. Shea butter is also really good for moisture

  • love the puff!

  • Fierce fro, gorgeous puff. That s-curl really does soften the hair. Good ole old school product lol

  • "who doesnt love vanilla?" ::raises hand: "me"!! lol I love your fro and your smile is gorgeous :)

  • @MsDawson2488 lol. I think you're the only one. Thanks for the compliment. :)

  • I just bought the vo5 conditioner!

  • Thanx for another great vid.

  • I tried to comment on your fro vid, but youtube hates me :(

    Your hair is awesome !!!

  • You have a gorgeous puff!!!

  • I love Dr. Bronnor's castile soap.... It has many uses. I like to clarify my hair with the almond in the spring and peppermint in the winter (for holiday season)... the other type of castile soap is Tea Tree. I loooovvvvve castor oil.. nice and thick!

  • tj maxx, marshalls, target, walmart they all carry giovanni products...

  • Great video as usual!! You are about to be one of my favorite subscriptions.

  • hey im transitioning to being a natural chick and I hear a lot about co-washing. Could you give me some in-sight and advice on that??? Thanks!! -Quinni

  • does the s curl stuff have any questionable ingredients in it?

  • @hatrgatr I did see some cones in the ingredient list, but no petroleum which is what I was looking for

  • Walmart has giovanni products. That's where I get mine. Theyre usually 2 cents cheaper than target! GO SAVINGS! lol

  • That was really nice how you responded to people asking you about what you looked like being relaxed, and about what you look like when you BC. A lot of times when someone ask a question they get so upset because they are asked questions that are repeat questions and they could look back at older videos. The thing is new You Tubers don't realize you have other videos to look at so i thought the fact that you told people in a nice way to look back at your other videos was great!

  • @notsoshy28 This is true. I do feel like I repeat myself alot, but I just try to be patient. Thanks for the comment Sis. :)

  • Funny, my mother started using Curl Free Curl and Tail and Mane. I was using African Pride, and then began using Wet N Wavy Tangle Free Spray. They do make your hair SO soft! One of my friends likes to use the S Curl spray on her natural hair too. That must be the thing to do now. A best keep secret because they are inexpensive. By the way, I'm lovin' the Fro! So glad you are on here. One of the first people I subscribed to when I had first decided to go natural. Keep up the good work!

  • WOW! Look at that puff!

  • Yea i loved your lenghth check MJ tribute vid!!! And your hair is amazing!! Love your vids, keep em coming!!

  • Girl, I think you are making me have hair envy. LOL! I love the fro and the puff.

  • awesome puff! cool vid!

  • Your puff is so full and long wow girl!

  • your hair is lovely, you go girl with that puff.

  • I <3 your beautiful "fro! I felt the same way when I heard about that S-Curl stuff, I was like, umm, that's Jheri curl juice! Now some people use the Sta 'Fro moisturizer, have you ever heard of it? It's a spray moisturizer that's been out there for years & years, I purchased it but still haven't gotten around to using it. It mostly contains glycerin too.

  • @TwistedNaturally I remember using the stay soft fro stuff in the brown bottle. My dad used that when I was young. I remember using it on my relaxed hair then and liking it. I was looking for some when I got the s curl stuff, but I couldn't find it. I think I would purchase that one too If I could find it somewhere.

  • @Summyr1988-I started seeing the Sta 'Fro moisturizer in some natural's product videos & I saw it at Walmart in the ethnic/black, haircare section. I still see it there everytime I frequent a Walmart. Oh, & I believe I've seen it at Walgreens (If you don't have a Walgreens near you, maybe you can try a CVS pharmacy?) also, in the haircare department for African Americans. HTH 8-)

  • Hi Summy, Keep up the wonderful wonderful vids. You really help me out with your positive vibe. I do get down sometimes about my natural hair, feeling that everyone else thinks that my natural hair looks "BROKE" Thank Goddess/God for YouTube and all the Naturals

  • that s-curl no drip is great..it is like a premixed veggie gylcerin mix....I LOVE that stuff!

  • Now thats a PUFF lol, I love your hair, I can't wait till my hair grows, I am starting to become impatient my hair usually grows so fast, but for some odd reason after doing the big chop it seems to be taking its sweet little time go figure.

  • @lovingutube1 Try not to think about it so much. That's why I only check length every 3 months. Mine didn't get there overnight.

  • thanks 4 watchin my video response...u made me cry bcuz i felt like u cared thank u so much...i luv wat u do i cant thank u enough i culd hug u....a question can i flat iron my hair while transitioning or is that bad

  • @tootiened Aww don't cry. I do care and I want to help. I also wanted to see if others could give you some transiton tips. You can flat iron if you want, but I would not do it on a regular basis. Heat can permantly damage your hair. Cornrows or braids are a healthier alternative for managing the two textures.

  • @tootiened Hey i saw your question to summyr about flat ironing your hair through transitioning and from a person who did it i would say no no no! I flat ironed my hair while transitioning and now there are a few hairs around the edges that are straight. No matter how much i wash my hair they are straight and those hairs grow slower. It maybe just be me but i wouldn't want you to take that chance. I want to cut it but my hair has grown a lot so i leave it alone. Thats just my advice.

  • @MrsJacksonish

yea i know what ur sayin i flat iron my hair a week ago n it killed some curls

  • I am so loving the HUGE PUFF!!!!

  • i heart you Summyr! Your puff and fro are CRAZY!!!!!! Love it!

  • Rite Aid Carries Giovanni products

  • love the for summyr! u have definitely come a LONG WAY from ur TWA lol.

  • I love your hair to and I wish that it was mine.

  • LOVE THE FRO!!

  • walmart has giovannis that's where i get mine:)

  • love the fro!!! =)

  • i think the word u wanted to say was "fullfilling". You are def in my top 3 of favorite youtuber's to watch!

  • @CutiePieZphi agreed, i love summyr! her vids are so down to earth and real.

  • @CutiePieZphi Yes. Fullfilling is perfect!! That's how I feel. I appreciate you watching and I'm super glad I'm one of your favorites. Thank you.

  • where did you get the glycerin and oils in the blue bottle from?

  • @mamma1985 I'm sorry I forgot to mention that. I get it at Nutriton world. I think they have at whole foods and places that sell vitamin suplements.

  • Thanks for sharing. I use jojoba oil on my hair daily which is great.

  • Your hair is so full and gorgeous. I'm struggling right now. I'm 3 months natural and feeling the urge to relax because I can't figure out how to style my TWA and keep moisture in it.

  • Hair looks great!

  • Lookin geat Summyr!

  • I love the fro!!!!!
