In a lot of Anna's songs, you can't sense too much of an accent. Not to mention she's HALF AMERICAN, you don't know if she's just comfortable singing in English or not. It's a pretty mainstream movie for lolita fashion lovers and in the extras of the movie, contained a music video by Anna Tsuchiya that helped up her fame as a singer. Eminem isn't just an ordinary rapper though, he has a unique sound and he does sing in some of his songs but a lot of the times, he doesnt, he raps. @slihfshf Ayumi Hamasaki actually sings in her songs, there are occasional talking-in-a-melodious tone but she sings overall. That is why she is one of the greatest singers, because she SINGS not just talk.
Anna Tsuchiya has also been famous before she sang for NANA.She is famous model and actress in Japan and sang and made CD's before she did a CD for NANA.
So NO she did not get famous because of NANA, she already was famous. NANA may have increased her popularity but she was ALREADY FAMOUS.

@slihfshf And I give her major kudos for singing in English, many people sing in English and sound horrible or you can still sense their accent. In a lot of Anna's songs, you can't sense too much of an accent. Not to mention she's HALF AMERICAN, you don't know if she's just comfortable singing in English or not. But she mixes her lyrics with English and Japanese. So in a way, I would say that, that's expressing herself too. AND many Japanese singers include English in their songs.

Anna is good, but there are japanese singers who sing in japanese (with some english sometimes) who are better. And what I can hardly bear is that some western girls of my country only know those singers from the Nana serie and think they know japanese music while don't know better Japanese singers who don't have a stupid girl-serie to become famous.

@slihfshf Anna was actually famous OUTSIDE of Japan when Kamikaze Girls was released in the US. A lot of people knew her from her role in that movie. It's a pretty mainstream movie for lolita fashion lovers and in the extras of the movie, contained a music video by Anna Tsuchiya that helped up her fame as a singer. She wasn't as famous and image wasn't completely known when NANA came out but she was still out there. Kamikaze Girls is actually one of the common DVD's you'll see in the Japanese

@slihfshf I don't consider in that song that she is singing except those small parts in it like when she sings "Put your ass in the air". She sings. In "Blue Moon" she sings throughout the song. And I get what you're saying about Miley trying to do difficult songs and it makes her not sound that good. But most of the hit songs out there by her, on the radio or on TV, is mostly just her talking, not singing. I'm just saying that there's a difference between talking and singing

Eminem isn't just an ordinary rapper though, he has a unique sound and he does sing in some of his songs but a lot of the times, he doesnt, he raps. Anna does talk a lot in her songs but she still sings in them too, and she adds in her own unique voice into it. She twists her voices around, up and down. Take "Slap that Naughty Body" for example, she talks in almost, completely the whole song, yes?

I told about rap to show that if melody is not so visible, it can still exist, for example in nas songs, somebody who is very steady in tone and stress, but not in melody. For the "talk" thing, in fact people when talking use "notes" : there are words higher than others. So in rap music, there are a lot of notes and complicate dmelodies, if the singer wants it, like Eminem, Nas, ... Some other choose to have the same note all along, are steady. Elvis and Johnny Cash is considered singing to me because they stress their voice box, they use different tones of vibrations and pitches. When I talk, I use one tone of vibration, one note. So unless you're trying to say that when I have conversations everyday, that I'm singing in those conversations, they're two different things. I'm not denying that Miley is an artist.

A lot of those I refferred lack some abilities : Nas has good melodies in rap but has always the same tone, Miley Cyrus has always the same tone... Ayu, Anna and... Allora, intanto la cyrus non sa fa niente. ed ha 16 anni. Secondo, l'album di one in a million è uscito poco più di un mese dopo dell'ultimo album della Tsuchiya. Anna-San è un artista completa sin da piccola, ed è spettacolare. La cyrus non sa fa niente!!!!

premetto: non mi piace per niente la Phanna Montata, e Anna Tsuchiya è il mio mito... ma Miley Cyrus ha fatto una cover di Sandy Molling, One in a million, uscita nel 2004 (mentre Blue Moon è del 2006 se non sbaglio): quindi dovrebbe essere l'incontrario @__@ comunque Anna non sa niente, e poichè il compositore della musica è lo stesso è da attribuire a lui il "plagio"...
Ma Blue Moon è una canzone fantastica!!! E la preferisco mille volte a One in a million...
