  • are the wings clipped ?

  • @killer: first you should give them some time to get used to their new home. Then you should pay them slot of attention. Never catch them if it's possible and if not, never ever with your hands. If they trust you a bit you should try it with the clicker training.

  • My birds looked just like yours, a real sweet-heart. Rest in Peace Greeny and Baby.

  • how long do they take to get used to their owner?

i bought two of them less than a day ago and they sort of back away if i get close to them :(

  • @killer2611 first you madea little mistakecause if you by two of them they will be in love so they will not be interested by humain..me i got only one so im his lovers and he want to get with me everyday but maybe you will be able to handle it with a lot of patience..good luck

  • @cleotine I got two and they both love me :)

  • @killer2611 Be more patient!Just one day!Any bird that comes in a new home will react...Some will not,but it's rare!It can takes months or years!Talk to them everyday and never be rude.Read a book close to their cage. And don't listen to cleotine...Two lovebirds can be as affectionate than one. And,by the way cloetine,it's not good to become your bird's lover! You have to be his good friend, that's it!He will become frustrated if he can't mate with you.

  • @killer2611 Oh and...It's not true that lovebirds can't leave alone,or will die if the other one do...Lovebirds are named like that because they cuddle when they are in couple...But if the mate dies,he will be sad,but will find another mate when he will be ok.

  • Evertime it bites you blow gently in its face,it should very soon stop.

  • Cool, another one is to have the bird on your hand and when it goes to bite, lower your hand rapidly so it has to steady its self.I should be getting my first lovebird before Christmas,i'm so excited lol.
