Im an American. I understand that the NSA wants to protect our Nation Security Infrastructure, but they go too far. ISPs and Telcos are required under CALEA to have interception equipment/scenarios in place to capture traffic or wiretap upon court-ordered investigations. This is nothing new. Every ISP and Telco in the USA has this type of equipment in place per federal CALEA laws. This is not a bad thing. The equipment is only used should there be a CALEA intercept request from law enforcement. (very, very rare).
