the original jamaican ska guys used to nick bits and pieces from u.s. and uk pop culture (like they still do with dancehall now - with elephant man and his vaguely homoerotic pink cowboy hats) - and one of the most common themes was westerns - although the theme from Shaft is another one that got the ska treatment - dunno if thats floating about on youtube. Specials made a pretty damn fine job of this version - but its all about the skatalites and the aggrovators - true innovators.

Many original ska bands did covers of EVERY SONG IN EXISTENCE.. from the Beatles.. to War movies..
