My Brother is 27 years old. We've known about his condition early before his primary. In each stage of his growth, the crisis starts and around 12 he fell sick of Meningitis. He hardly grew but and has some belly. Few months later, after an accident, his spleen infected has to be removed. Since then, he started growing at a rate of 1cm each month. Today, he is 1m94 and extrovert so different of the shy and cautious boy he was. So Courage to all of you... There is always hope!

i was born with the same thing .. (im not lying like some of you..)

And the doctors and nures dont make it any better, all they do is drug me up with morphine and other narcodics until im to sleepy and drowzy to think about how much pain im going through..they do that every 3 or 4 hours around the clock ... SOME PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW BAD THIS CRAP HURTS!!!!!!

wow I hate my middle school they made me do the run mile. >.> and I had a lot of pain afterwords and people just laughed at how sweaty and tired I was afterword.

@iFruit96 Same problem with me while I was dressing up for swimming class, I had to put on my trunks and get into a cold clean pool and learn how to swim. after the class was over, I had the worst headache ever and had been taken to the doctor for servile pain. It was the worst experience of my life?

well i m italian and my two boys are sick my 5 year old has sickle cell ss and his father is black american and my 2 year old has thalssemia major and i have two other healthy boys its all over many people are etting this disease and the myth is you can out grow it im here to say you can not it is for lif euntil they find a cure or god cures this disease its horrible both diseases i spend all my time in the hospitals god bless al of you veronica

@mommyjaylon i have sickle cell disease ss im 18 years old and i would like to correct you because when they say you can out grow it (atleast my docs) meant that you still will have the disease but you may have less simptoms as i saw with older sicklers also there is a cure for sickle cell which is a bone marrow transplant but the thing is if the surgery doesnt work then you will die and the likely hood of it not working is high so yeah there is a cure just not a safe cure

which are important to complete the life cycle of the parasite ..

apprently if someone has sickle cell anemia theyre almost guarentied to never get maleria (i only read this im not sure)
