I LOOOOOVED this anime when I was a kid and then, I found myself waiting for episodes and double checking the time to see if I missed it. They ripped it off TV with no warning. Then I started to buy the VHSs and even those were hard to track them all down. However, I have finally seen it all and WHOA Fox cut out ALOT!
Omg! This was one of my favorite shows on fox kids when I was little! XD I was always confused! This is the only good thing to ever come out of fox kids. This intro. Seriously, I want to know if there is a longer version. That and who made this song? I like the JP opening as well. But as a kid this intro drew me to the series more. As a kid I was kind of disappointed in the JP intro when I decided to watch the original series after the fox kids version was canceled. I was expecting this kind of trance anime soundtrack. Now that I'm older, I still like both but still lean towards this one.
Anyone know where I could get a copy of this? I'd like to try mixing this with the remastered video that was released in Japan. I love this opening and it seriously deserves a remastering. Thanks in advance.
i gotta admit, in anime normally the japanese opening is better, but i like this one more, it's short and doesn't drag and the music and visuals summarize the tone beyond perfectly

It was a damn shame it didnt continue on Fox Kids but Im real glad they actually released the entire series with english dubs.

That, and that the show itself seemed to die out rather quickly in the states. I don't think they got the story or dialogue proportionate to the original which I haven't seen.

@neon6 I'm an anime fan but unlike MOST I am also open minded though in this case of english dub openings I am not bothered either way. the purism of anime fans irks me quite a bit and I don't quite get it
Those who won't stop bitching and whining about this opening, just think. This was early in anime's dubbing history, and given what would come later COUGH4kidsCOUGH this opening could have been a LOT worse.

i cant believe i just turned up my whole PC and mic sound full high 100% and then when it started at 0:25 i slowly rised the sound louder, after that when the voices were like HAAAA i kept rising the music up and down..i want a new remake plse. it would go sky high! many more people would love it!

I love how everyone says that this animus English dub was good when in reality it sucked they cut out parts of the episodes they tried to pass of the secondary hero as the main protagonist and I think they got rid of the first episode but with all that said I do think that this opening was great it's just to bad that this was the best 45 seconds of the show(dub wise) and before you call me a dub hater I prefer dubs to subs most of the time(not counting 4kids)

Americans need to learn to love subtitles because that's the only way to get the full impact of anime, since the english voices are unprofessional and undermine the story telling.

I live in North America and got to say I like the Japanese version better. This version is not bad, the original version is just better. I fell hard for this anime even though I am not a mech fan. I was heartbroken when the next episode didn't come on and I had no access to internet.
WOW are American intros to anime WAY better than Japanese ones. While American versions always seem to have worse voice acting, I rarely ever see a Japanese intro that was significantly better than the American one.
Seriously, while watching Shaman King, I always keep the American intro minimized so I can watch it instead of the Japanese one.
This song was like a hardcore mindfuck. I saw this series when I was a kid, and to this day I still remember the chanting and some of the pictures they flashed in the intro.
Anyone who thinks this intro sucks compared to the Japanese version can go teabag a bear trap.
I've listened to the Japanese intros of Dragonball Z, Digimon and Escaflowne and if I had heard sappy bullshit, as a 7-13 year old boy (target audience), I would definitely NOT stick around to watch the rest of the show.
That's the reason why I never watched Samurai Pizza Cats when it was on, because that intro sounded like it was written by some faggot ass dick rider.

@barrin666 Sure that may be true. I mean look at the openings for Digimon, you simply can't beat the music in the originals. But many of can't deny the infulence that many of these openings (however butchered they may be). I remember staying up just late enough so I could watch this even though it was pushing bed time. I never watched the show itself, but these images and that music stuck with me through the years.
Wow, If I close me eyes I can remember back to when I was...kay I cant remember how young, but I remember being up in my PJs eating Froot Loops at like 6:30am on Saturday so I could watch this. @MakeYourself1987 Actually, Full Metal Panic has ALWAYS been on the list of animes I must watch but have never got around to watch. Can't go wrong with Mechs and fanservice, lol. I think it was around that time that, while watching Escaflowne that I started watching Rahxephon, which sorta replaced Escaflowne when it got pulled. I still need to finish both {>_<}

@MakeYourself1987 I wouldn't consider Escaflowne to be a mecha anime. Sure, it has components of that but it is more of a shojo/shonen mix and is a character and story-driven show, not an action show.
As for this intro, I do like it a lot (because it is the first anime for me, thanks Fox Kids) but the cuts they made to the show are inexcusable (not that I knew that at the time).
I remember watching card capters and loving the english theme.. LOl a lil cheezy now but i'd still break out singing to it. But what did they do to sakura?
@rickochetproductions The order of the episodes were played out of order. Episode 3 got turned into episode one. Syaoran Li was renamed Li Showron and made a Cardcaptor even though he was never chosen by Cerberus...and even they changed his name to Keroberos. And that's just the surface. I haven't even gone into the relationships in the series. Fox Kids cut a whoooooole lot and moved a ton to make it it...America kid friendly and that pissed off a HUUUUUGE percentage of the CCS fan base.
Oh ok.. yeah they do that for a lot of anime.. Fortunately that wasn't one of the ones i watched in Japanese.. But as a rule, if i start watching any anime in Japanese i just cant switch back to English, because they really butcher everything, from voice choices to translation..

yup. They even shortened the name 'Cardcaptor Sakura" to 'Cardcaptors'. The first US episode was when Li (the boy) is introduced, which is really the 3rd episode of the series.
@eyeofxthestorm I've watched just the first episode of Cardcaptor Sakura. I know the series is actually different compared to the US version. I've seen Cardcaptors and it was good. I like the original opening and ending theme songs though..

I love how everyone says that this animus English dub was good when in reality it sucked they cut out parts of the episodes they tried to pass of the secondary hero as the main protagonist and I think they got rid of the first episode but with all that said I do think that this opening was great it's just to bad that this was the best 45 seconds of the show(dub wise) and before you call me a dub hater I prefer dubs to subs most of the time(not counting 4kids)

Jeez they raped the original theme. C'mon this is lame! They couldn't allow Hitomi to be the main character. The original is the only one I'll watch. Americans need to learn to love subtitles because that's the only way to get the full impact of anime, since the english voices are unprofessional and undermine the story telling.

i loved the fox kids edited version...i watched this as a kid and i think if they were singing in Japanese i wouldn't of been very interested. not to say i don't like the Japanese version too but as i child i was able to identify with it better because it was in a language i could understand..i'm trying to find a download for The "Escaflowne Fox Kids edited version " does anyone know where i can find it. i really want the edited version .

i perfer this opening then the japanese one... the theme song is my fav! its the reason it got me to watch escaflowne when I was a kid, dissapointed that the series I bought only came with the english audio and not this opening xD i was really bumbed, but at least I ACTUALLY love the japanese theme =D

I live in North America and got to say I like the Japanese version better. This version is not bad, the original version is just better. I fell hard for this anime even though I am not a mech fan. I was heartbroken when the next episode didn't come on and I had no access to internet.

WOW are American intros to anime WAY better than Japanese ones. While American versions always seem to have worse voice acting, I rarely ever see a Japanese intro that was significantly better than the American one.
Seriously, while watching Shaman King, I always keep the American intro minimized so I can watch it instead of the Japanese one.

Anyone who thinks this intro sucks compared to the Japanese version can go teabag a bear trap.
I've listened to the Japanese intros of Dragonball Z, Digimon and Escaflowne and if I had heard sappy bullshit, as a 7-13 year old boy (target audience), I would definitely NOT stick around to watch the rest of the show.
That's the reason why I never watched Samurai Pizza Cats when it was on, because that intro sounded like it was written by some faggot ass dick rider.

@barrin666 Sure that may be true. I mean look at the openings for Digimon, you simply can't beat the music in the originals. But many of can't deny the infulence that many of these openings (however butchered they may be). I remember staying up just late enough so I could watch this even though it was pushing bed time. I never watched the show itself, but these images and that music stuck with me through the years.

Wow, If I close me eyes I can remember back to when I was...kay I cant remember how young, but I remember being up in my PJs eating Froot Loops at like 6:30am on Saturday so I could watch this. It was one of the first anime I ever started watching, part of why I think IO cant get enough of it now lol <3<3<3

I think it was around that time that, while watching Escaflowne that I started watching Rahxephon, which sorta replaced Escaflowne when it got pulled. I still need to finish both {>_<}

@MakeYourself1987 I wouldn't consider Escaflowne to be a mecha anime. Sure, it has components of that but it is more of a shojo/shonen mix and is a character and story-driven show, not an action show.
As for this intro, I do like it a lot (because it is the first anime for me, thanks Fox Kids) but the cuts they made to the show are inexcusable (not that I knew that at the time).

@rickochetproductions The order of the episodes were played out of order. Episode 3 got turned into episode one. Syaoran Li was renamed Li Showron and made a Cardcaptor even though he was never chosen by Cerberus...and even they changed his name to Keroberos. And that's just the surface. I haven't even gone into the relationships in the series. Fox Kids cut a whoooooole lot and moved a ton to make it it...America kid friendly and that pissed off a HUUUUUGE percentage of the CCS fan base.

Oh ok.. yeah they do that for a lot of anime.. Fortunately that wasn't one of the ones i watched in Japanese.. But as a rule, if i start watching any anime in Japanese i just cant switch back to English, because they really butcher everything, from voice choices to translation..

yup. They even shortened the name 'Cardcaptor Sakura" to 'Cardcaptors'. The first US episode was when Li (the boy) is introduced, which is really the 3rd episode of the series.
