  • I live in Texas and have a 91 formula firebird I am selling. It's 100% stock and in excellent condition. I will have a video by this weekend. Hit me up with any offers.

  • when is a update video?

  • Hi there - nice Firebird. I am considering swapping my GTA with a 350 TPI for a smaller 305 TBI. I need to know just how much difference i'll feel in power and torque, When i put my foot down, will i still be able to spin the wheels???

  • it almost sounds dieselish. haha jealous man, nice find.

  • Love your car no t-tops? :(

  • Badass Firebird man and if I'm not mistaken the bodykit is part of the w68 package.

  • Oh, no disrespect thank's .

  • yeh, whatever....you are one of those 100% people. that is o.k.

  • ill race you with my firabird i got a 350 71 block and newer heads

  • i paid $600 for mine it is a 1991 v6 with 117,000 miles on it ......runs perfect ...never had a problem with it

  • Well it looks like no one expands the description section on any videos :-P

I just want to be clear that I know it's not a Formula but just a base model Firebird with a V8. When I bought it the guy had a few Firebirds and he gave me the wrong build sheet for the car. I noticed when the VIN's didn't match between the car and the sheet.

    Sorry for the confusion.

  • The Formula package ALWAYS included a ground-effect FREE body, "power bulge" hood, the TransAm/GTA spoiler, 16x8" wheels, and WS6 suspension. MOST of them (unless taken off), had hood decals on the side of the bulge and Formula (or Formula 350, depending on year) badges on the side and rear bumper.

Hope that clears things up for everyone.

  • @dante04srt sorry, dud but your not corredt either, i have a 91 just like this one and the title says formula edition. asked pontiac dealer and mine is a formula as well as this guy's.

  • @kinyaets No disrespect, but I am 100% correct about the information I provided. ALL 91-91 Firebirds & Formulas show Formula on the title (Google it), but that doesn't mean a Firebird is a Formula just because the title says so. Read what I've already posted here about what a Formula has, which this car (and probably yours) is not. If you still don't believe/understand, check your RPO/SPID sheet - All Formulas show W66 (Formy pkg). Educate yourself at 3rdgenformula . com

  • @dante04srt yes sir youre right and the motor options included the lb9, l98, and I forget the rpo for the 305tbi. lo3? I had an 87 formula with the w66 rpo, the bulge hood and gta/ta/ wrap around spoiler, 16x8's and the ws6 suspension. It's nice to find other educated people on here.

  • I'm sure you know by now but its not a Formula. To set the record straight (because there is a ton of misinformation in the comments to this video... The 3rdgen Formula was made from 1987-1992. In 87, you could get the 305 4bbl (LG4), the 305 TPI (LB9), or the 350 (L98). In 88-90, you could get a 305 TBI (L03), and the other two TPI engines. From 1990-1992, the Formulas were ONLY offered with the 305 & 350 TPI engines.

    More continued:

  • this isnt a formula i have a 91 formula the spoiler is wrong they dont have ground effects and the hood is wrong and they say formula on the doors and back bumper

  • this isnt a formula i have a 91 formula the spoiler is wrong they dont have ground effects and the hood is wrong

  • not a formula hood is wrong no decal wrong back spoiler

  • The Formula Firebird has a 5.7L 350, The other V8 version has a 5.0L 305.

  • @Mason749 they made the formula with a 305 and a 350,,, the 350 was avail witha 4spd auto, 305 avail with a auto or 5 spd manny

  • @IRONSEAN7 no they made the formula with a 350 4spd auto and the wacky spoiler. and just the regular one in 5 speed and auto (with a 305). i know because i have one. and they also have the v6 3.1

  • She is so pretty

  • Now because of its age and condition i doubt its over 100k miles but My bros 85 reads 76k when its actually 176k and thats cause it only goes to 99999 miles is that the same on the 91s or did they add an extra roller on the odometer. U gota be careful cause my bros is a perfect example in about 30k miles itl read 00000miles.

  • i just bought a 92 firebird 3.1 5 speed for 1100 dollars and restoring it to as nice as yours, it doesnt have rust just the bumper is creased and it has sun spots, there damn sexy lookin cars, mines blue to

  • buying a 91 gta pretty soon :D

  • i had a white '85 firebird... it had a carbed 305 with a 5spd, and every other option a T/A or Formula had (even T-Tops) except it was just a firebird. Perfect sleeper with quiet exhaust... everyone thought it was a V6 car

  • 87 trans am

  • beautiful car im restoring one of these as week speak with 70,000 miles.. i deff dig the blue paint too

  • could b a formula, i ve got one and its a formula, it looked the same, except for the front bumper part, ive got fog lights in mine.

  • that´s NO FORMULA idiot!that´s an original Trans am body modification from the factory!and also missing:The original FORUMLAHOOD-COWL Induction Hood!!guy i think you better drive toyota and no Pontiac;)

  • Looks just like my 92 with the lame tbi 305, there's room for improvement swapping in a 6 speed and 3.73 lsd really helps with the fun factor even with a 305

  • wow realy nice

  • Yeah I know, I updated the description to this video to state this point lol

  • @frankinberry123 All of them are firebirds no matter what but some just have different packages. When I called Pontiac to get some info on mine it was a firebird with a formula package, my buddy few moments later called about his and his was a firebird with a trans am package.

    Just saying.

  • lmao...scoots

  • Very nice firebird but that ain't a formula. Formulas don't have ground effects and they'd have a bunch of formula decals all over the body along with a hood with a bulge in it. And was it just me or was that thing burning oil on startup? Hard to tell.

  • No it's not burning oil, it was just sitting for a while when i recorded the video so it was just some excess moisture.

  • That`s not a Formula model.

Formula`s had a small cowl hood on the drivers side with the engine size 5.0 or 5.7 written on it and had Formula decals on the lower drivers and passenger doors.

This looks like a base Firebird V-8.

Hope it`s not the lame 5.0 throttle body fuel injection engine.

  • let's see the engine compartment....

Nice looking car... How come it doesn't say "Formula" on the side? Was this some kind of special build?

  • ya i know that now

  • i have a 1991 firebird formula. i could show you pics of whats differnt. this looks exactly like my 1991 firebird V6. the formuls got differnt size rims, no ground effects, power bulge hood, rap around spoiler. and no firebird emblem on the side.

  • How much did u pay for that. Mine costed 3200 but had about 100,000 miles on it?

  • I basically stole it from the guy, I only paid 5k

  • this isnt a formula. formula had 16x8 rims had no ground effeects. and a flat wrap around spoiler. this is a nice car but not a formula.

  • want to bet? would you care to see the build sheet?

  • he is right, formula is a 350 anyways

  • @roodb I'm sorry dude. Have a 91 Formula. You can look at my video I just put up. That car says FIREBIRD on the side... NOT Formula. I have an 86 base model firebird too and that's what you have (only yours is a 91). Trust me... I have both cars... Just look at my video.

  • pointy nose....what year did they get changed to the pointy nose? late 80's right?

  • the 80's Firebirds had a more square nose, they started making the nose pointy like this in 1990.

  • 1982 to 1992 are the exact years for this body style

  • hey, I finally got a 91 firebird.....we shud race sometime

  • Comment removed

  • man, i might get one too! cept i might get a camaro instead...GM RULES! ill race you if i get my camaro

  • lol you're on. The camaro is basically the same car with a different front clip and rear end, both were pretty cool cars.

  • lol, no duh! GM is best at making fast ass cars. i wud like to see who would be victorious. what state do you live in?
