Harrison was chopped blocked on other plays and finally told dude to stop it or else. Refs never called it until Silverback unleashed hell on dude and the birdies.
And for your vested interest the Chargers lost to San Francisco in SB XXIX being blown out by Steve Young's only QB start not Green Bay who beat the Pansy Pats in SB XXXI.
James Harrison doesnt respect you either. The incident in question happened at the very end of the game. Even if Harrison was ejected it would have had no effect on the outcome. Its football, toughen up. The Chargers never played against the Packers in the SB. Chargers and SBs dont go together. They dont play each other in the playoffs either. You really have no idea what you are talking about.
Oh Yeah, the Refs were really worried about the 80% Steelers fans when they called a Safety agaisnt the Steelers after Ben had completed a first down pass from the endzone to seal the game or when they called holding on the first play of the final drive of the Steelers tomake him start 10 yds back 1st and 20.
What the fuck is wrong with some of you pussies , i play football , i get fucking unessissary roughness penalties , seriously it ain't fucking golf we are playing here , its football , it's an aggressive sport , and aaron francisco can't do shit To harrison , GO STEELERS! , Fuck you cardinals
fuck everybody who doesnt agree that james harrison should of been punished for his punch on aaron francisco... knowing aaron personally, if this was a situation out of the NFL and in a game aaron would of knocked his ass out... james harrisons nothin but a big pussy FUCK YOU JAMES HARRISON!!!. dont ever think about coming to the north shore of oahu
Oh because you know the Cardinals shitty back up safety "personally" he could kick someone's ass? Francisco went low in what appeared to be an attempt to chop block Harrison. If you chop block a player, you should get ejected or get the bitchslapped for that dirty shit. You and Aaron Francisco can go fuck each other with pineapples on the North Shore, personally.
dude your a dumbass who are you to judge the players or the game. next time you want to want to try and explain game rules read a rule book first and at least get it right
Running into the holder is a penalty! The only excuse is if you are pushed into the holder by a member of the offense. Tripping, slipping, stumbling, or any other excuse you might think up still results in a 15 yard penalty and a first down! That's the rule!
Now the Harrison play was not a kidney punch! As was already pointed out you would have to hit him in the kidneys. Secondly, he hit him with the palm of his open hand. Clearly not a punch of any kind!
Yea alot of instances like calling holding in the end zone for a saftey and the ensuing free kick producing a touchdown for the cards?....dumbass...remember you cant run over a place holder...ITS A RULE, which is apparently why they called it....quit bitching about officiating and start talking about how well all the players played the game...and you have no idea whats going through referees heads...i doubt they give a shit about the fans...we dont throw bottles like the browns
What a douschebag, you dont even know which Super Bowl it was. MG whatever. Come on, you dont even know football so why talk about it. Youve been judged to be ignorant.
It was definitely more than he should have done, but there was no kidney punch...in order to do a "kidney punch", you would have to punch someone in THE KIDNEYS, not the UPPER BACK! LOL
Plus, if someone tried to take my knees out (chop block), I'd knock his head off - that stuff could end your career!
I wonder if you have lost respect for the guy who tried to take out Harrison's knees?
I think Harrison had every right to deck Francisco who was trying to chop block him. That's dirty and can end a guys career. Franciso got what he deserved.
so anybody who has seen the game can make assumptions of what should be called?
haha. an open fist is not a punch it is also legal and shouldnt even have been called. im willing to bet you never played football in your life and thus dont know the rules or how you're taught to play when somebody tries to block you low? please refrain from commenting on football again.. now if you make a video about soccer officiating i wont comment cause i dont know soccer rules. text book play harrison. congrats
the charges have never played the packers in the superbowl,
CHECK YOUR FACTS!
The refs arent biased no matter how many fans of a certain team are there.
They just do their jobs, and make fair calls, there were plenty of holding calls that weren't called on Arizona for holding James Harrison around the neck.
I went over this with another braniac... Chargers played the 49ers... Packers played the Patriots...
That being said than you for enlightening us all with your astute observations as a biased Steelers fan. We all could learn so much more from you I'm sure
You shouldnt release a video that has so many errors, and is biased towards rooting for the Cardinals, even though you aren't a Cardinals fan.
If you cant respect the steelers organization for what they've accomplished, then you cant really respect anything. I laugh at your sad little patches of facial hair, and non connecting scraggly mustache.
Nobody puts out a video without ANY errors... well at least not a quick capture... and this obviously wasn't geared to be a 98 comment video or 2 thousand views... it was just me stating my case feeling the cardinals were slighted... and so far Steelers fans (overwhelmingly) have been the ones to complain... all the non steeler fans have been siding with me... so far.
I agree with everything you said whole heartedly, including my wish for Baltimore to go to the bowl! Since my beloved Seahawks were shite. Apparently if you're a Seahawk fan, giving your oppinion is always considered biased, and being a "Hater" or being "Bitter" as I was told. I give all congratulations to Santonio and The Steelers for winning. The fact is the officiating had me so mad, and everyone around me, steelers and cards fans.
I did not like the roughing the holder call, apparently he tripped, and put his hands out to stop his momentum, he didn't lay down his shoulder pad, or helmet him as he now SHOULD have done. Although this is a mute point since the steelers only got 3 anyways. I was highly dissapointed with the missed call of using a prop, 15 yards could decide a game definately, finally, the decision not to review the final play, and hand the Steelers the superbowl, disgusted me. 'Grats Steelers.
What are you talking about with the refs on that play? They gave him what he deserved for that play, an unsportsmanlike penalty. Yeah, maybe it was an unclean play. Maybe the penalty only amounted to a 1 year penalty. Oh and by the way, Francisco went for Harrison's groin. And the kidneys are very well protected with padding so the punch probably didn't do anything.
Man your a whiney little prick. Anyway MGDong do you usually just post vids noone gives a fuck about ? only i cant bear to hear you whine about anything else.
Just because the internet gives you a voice it doesnt mean anyone cares about what you have to say.
Chargers played the Packers in the Super Bowl. What Super Bowl was that? The Chargers were in ONE SB, and that was against the 49ers. The officiating was just fine. None of the calls good or bad changed , or turned the tide of the game in anyones favor. And the running into the HOLDER penalty, is because the holder is in a defenseless position, and many holders on a squad are backup QB's, it's protection. When you know a little about the game, post another video junior.
Regardless I rooted for the Chargers in that super bowl... they were MASSIVE underdogs... I still rooted... OH and I guess it was a group memory cuz I was for the Pats when they played Green bay in the super bowl... Drew Bledsoe and Jim Harbaugh... two great qbs... heck was it harbaugh that QB'd that team? I'm sure you know... EVERYONE knows that RIGHT? lol
The roughing the holder call was fine. We see those plays called all the time and 90 percent of them aren't intentional. This definately isn't the first time a penalty like that has happened.
to the moron below me its called a chop block wich is legal and cheap shots look at all the helmet to helmet hits the steelers did all year if yu wanna bring up trynna take ppl out moron keep lettin the refs win games for you steelers won but im always gonna use that ************ because the refs called that game lik a steelers home game
Your the one who said we don't go to the Super Bowl when we play New England. Back ups what back ups. wow so your calling your PAts this year backups? so your back ups can't step up and play? Just another band wagon fan. 2nd and 3rd strings are suppose to step up. Helmet to helmets. If you'll look you'll see shoulders led. And ask anyone in the NFL how legal a chop block is. May be legal but you'll definetly get punked after. STEELERS NATION WELCOMES ALL HATERS, WE THRIVE ON HATERS
you know how not to make friends....for one "roughing the kicker"..UMM..you mean roughing the holder...2nd...a "KIDNEY SHOT"..more like the PALM of his hand hitting the guy..oh and 3rd..you obviously didnt ACTUALLY watch the game cuz if you did you would have seen harrison getting held the whole night..he also was saving his knees on that play!! the cardinals put out a hit on james harrison and tried taking his knees out on that play..wouldnt you get mad too!!..
If I was trying to make friends with Steelers fans I'd prolly tell them something like... "oh I rooted for you guys back in 1996 vs. the Cowboys (when you played cleaner football and a beast named Bam Morris scored a TD) but obviously that isn't true...
and yeah I'll give you that I meant roughing the holder...
You're talking about the Harrison foul as though the refs didn't make the call. They MADE THE CALL; it was a personal foul, unnecessary roughness, and they penalized the team for it, and the Cardinals scored. What more did you want from the refs? Even if they had ejected him, it wouldn't have affected the outcome of the drive.
You can't complain about the officiating when they make the calls.
And it wasn't a kidney punch. The call was on the ridiculous shove afterwards.
Shya - I respect yo and I respect the drive it took to eventually win the superbowl for the steelers... I am still pretty peeved at some of the bad calls from the refs... and clearly this is a topic of more conterversy than I thought it would be... I got this same kind of negativity in response to my first two ever videos on youtube which were sports rants... I see now why I haven't dabbled there again til now. bleh
I've accepted your vid response. Enjoy you're teams super bowl victory.
damuriders12345 is a dumbass we just kicked New Englands Ass Nov 30th in New England. And yes it was an ass kickin 33-10. And that was a chop block punk is lucky he didn't get more than pushed a slapped around, which by the way is legal.
okay yu beat a backup patriots team with no original starters moron tlk to me next year after we wax ur ass in the playoffs like weve done the last 2 times weve played in the playoffs
I for one would probably root for ANY team against pittsburgh in the regular or postseason INCLUDING THE RAIDERS... after this display of negativity... geesh
anyone notice the steelers only go to the superbowl when they dont have to play new england but everytime they do they get beat i hope patriots play steelers in afc champ so they can get murked
You are a tool. it was a push/shove no punch. Roughing the holder.
As for the fan ratio.. does that mean that every home game is decided unfairly? note to you dude laking in logic horsepower. That's 50% of all games other than the superbowl. So 50% are reffed by scare officials that bend calls to the whims of the home fans?
Sure, by the way ... be sure to wear your tin foil hat for the next vid, you nut job..
My dad used to tell me "It is better to be THOUGHT the fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." 95% of the people on here should learn the rules and think about that statement.
Whatever though. The game is over and the Steelers are the rightful champs. You see things the way you see them because you wanted the Cards to win, and I see things the way I do because I am a Steeler fan.
However, I think it is low class to cheapen another team's accomplishment by complaining about the officiating. As a Pittsburgh sports fan, I have suffered a lot of heartbreak over the past 20 years. I never once complained about officiating (once I became an adult anyway).
I agree with you on one point. Whats done is done... they are the champs and no one person can dispute that... whether or not they won fairly? thats an entire other topic... and "cheapening" happens ALL the time in sports... if you are such a die hard fan then I suggest you IGNORE the talk as I did when my Spurs won a "Shortened Season" finals in 99. IF the critics are wrong - they'll be proven wrong by the right people - The Pittsburgh Steelers. We have the right to doubt till then
There were numerous, blatant holds not called on the Cardinals all day. I'm fine with that. In a game like this, you let the players play. That's why I take issue with the hold called on the Steelers in the endzone, and that's why I call it ticky-tack. Hartwig, the center, got trucked. He fell backward and the Card defender came with him. Hartwig didn't have enough time to get his hands off the guy.
With so much on the line and such a swing, that's ticky tack.
that whole game was meant for steelers to win the nfl is not a leauge it is a business its all about making money and selling shirts and memorabilia and arizona doesnt have many fans pittsburgh does there for they make more money for the nfl in sb merchandise and so on look at all the bad calls against az its was worst than last years bullshit sb that the refs ruined
There were more actual bad calls against the Steelers. The refs nearly won the game for Arizona with the safety call. Arizona got off lightly with the refs. You just don't seem to actually understand the rules as they are applied in the NFL.
and orange drink I would say more bad calls against the cardinals... there's a massive penalty differential... pretty blatant that the cardinals didn't "get off easy"
first of all for everyone to know that when james harrison '' committed his foul'' the play was not over. second of all the open handed blows were on the upper back which is legal when a player is on there stomach. its called a pancake. and the push after that was in the chest when play was still occuring. he is just very physical! you can argue either way. PLUS he gets held every time he blitzes.
Please, you hit the holder or the kicker you're going to get a flag, end of story. That's it. No discussion. As for the Harrison incident it's a 15 yard penalty. There is flat out no punch there's a slap on the shoulder blades mate. Last time I checked your shoulder blades and kidneys have some distance between them. How about mentioning the BS safety call. That was a joke and a half. If that's holding the Cards should've been done 20 times for holding.
I feel exactly the same way you do. Everyone knows the Steelers won just cause of bad plays. Aaron Francisco didn't mean to do anything to Harrison, he just flat out attacked Francisco.
You're way off base in your "assessment". He deserved the penalty, I agree. But that's football. It happens a lot and is missed a lot. How about all the mugging that happened on the offensive line when Harrison blitzed? Offensive lineman can't contain him, so they wrap up his head and neck A LOT! And Francisco went for his KNEES on that block. And if his helmet tapped him in the crotch, I would be wondering if the guy is taking a cheap shot as well. Which is probably why he pushed him.
I see it ALL THE TIME. As a Steeler fan, you watch the pass rush, and you see how many times Harrison would have come around the end for a sack if he wasn't held, mugged, etc. And it isn't called. How many times is there a replay because the offense did something, and in the replay you always seem to catch an offensive lineman behind Harrison with an arm around his neck or something. People wouldn't whine about calls if they saw how many holds aren't called on our pass rushers.
If you're team's specialty is offense, it's like having your receiver interfered with all the time and it isn't called. It's really frustrating to hear ignorant whining about calls in a Steeler game.
This was a bad call. Francisco went for Harrison's knees. He's a safety what is he going to do? Try and lock up Harrison? It does stop Harrison's rush on the punter but Harrison gets the advantage over him on the return as their roles reverse. The play's not over. Harrison has to protect the runback. Harrison shoves him back with a shot between the numbers with an open hand. There were no closed fists. The flag flew before the play was whistled dead. No kidneys no punch.
If the refs were biased, why did they call a ticky-tack holding penalty against the Steelers that negated a big first down, gave the Cardinals two points, the ball, and a chance to win?
Mate, if that's a hold on Hartwig in the endzone the Cardinals should've been penalised for holding on every single pass they attempted. Trust me the Cardinals got waaay better out of the refs than the Steelers did. Now get over this crap. It's only because a bad refereeing call that the Cardinals even had a chance to win. Without the safety it's first down Steelers and they probably run the clock out.
what defender? The Cardinals had a few penalties called on them for holding but it should have been 20 if the Hartwig hold is taken as the baseline for the offence. Hell there's a more obvious hold on Woodley on Fitz's second TD than the Hartwig one. the right tackle has arms encircling him from the side. He probably wouldn't have got to Warner before the ball is gone but then neither would the guy Hartwig supposedly held.
Cards got the real breaks, even then they couldn't win.
He did not intend to. Harrison freaked out for no reason. That was the ugliest play i have ever seen. Harrison should lose his job and go work at McDonalds.
HAHA best comment on this video mrAZcardinal... however there's a reason he was defensive player of the year... he's a freak... now maybe... maybe he's just a freak on HGH or Steroids... but he needs to hang out with Adam Sandlers Anger Management counselor not flip burgers at Mcdonalds... if he did that I'd be scared to eat there again.
and now. james harrison. it was open fist, not a punch. not enough to be ejected. he probably couldn't even feel it, he hit him in the pads everytime. i'm not trying to defend him on anything, it was unnecessary. but, (again, i'm not making excuses), he was held on every play. james took out his knee caps. and here, franciso tried to chop him. he's just trying to defend himself and let out some steam. but again, still unnecessary, but also not enough to get ejected, based on the current rules.
now. granted, the roughing the kicker call was frustrating for cardinals fans, i can imagine. if it would have happened to us, i would have been pissed. but it was a legit call. you knock over the kicker or the holder, no matter what. especially the holder. that's uncalled for. i don't care if you "hit him that hard" or not, you can't do that.
Oh yeah and like plenty of people have already said harrison was held nearly every play and it wasn't called so don't complain about unfair calling when it doesn't favor your team. The cardinals gave up alot of yards because of their own personal fouls which you can't hide. And i am a Steeler fan but i agree that our last super bowl win was bull but this one was won by talent of the Steelers and frustration of the Cardinals. I know yall are mad but all I have to say is Sixburgh baby lol!!!!!!!!!
Alright I'm addressing everything I heard stupid on here. First lolaly, if the refs were siding with the Steelers why would they review holmes catch for so long unless they were trying to take it back and even if they would've ruled the last fumble incomplete they wouldn't have had enough time to score anyway so you would still be up here hatin on the Steelers. To the dude in the video, you can't ever hit the kicker or the holder no matter how many times you "trip".
love harrisons passion and intensity. francisco obviously was going for the knees and seeing as how harrsion had been held nearly every snap, i can see how he could be pissed with francisco's move and i loved watching harrison beat him down. football is supposed to be ohysical, if you cant handle it dont bother putting on the pads and suiting up. go steelers
while I disagree with you concerning applauding or not of Harrison... I do applaud you for stating your case without cursing... that goes a long ways in my book.
kidneys can be approached from the back and he didn't punch him in the UPPER back relook your shit...steelers won an unfair game.. Definitely a one sided game by the refs sorry man it was clearly on sided...what they took like 30 minutes to review holmes's catch and shit and they took 2 seconds to review the last call on the fumble, which was clearly bs cus he followed through, full rotation. soooo go fuck yourself lol
First off, it wasn't roughing the kicker, it was the holder, an unprotected player. The rule is you can't hit him at all. Second, do you know how much fighting goes on during a game lol.... there is punching, kicking, kneeing, elbowing, scratching all game long. Plus the play was still going, Harrison pancaked that Cardinal and he tried to get back up, perfectly legal to knock him back down. Do you know what goring is????
definitely a personal foul, but it was not a kidney punch, let alone a punch at all... Kidney's are much lower on your back, and he hit him with his palm, it was a push while the guy was down.
Harrison and the steelers and all the analysts and refs who favor them can go suck some D's. their last two super bowl wins have been anything but legit
guy tried to get back up and harrisons crotch was in the way of his helmet... I didn't see anything that looked like aggitation... but maybe thats just cuz I'm not wearing a terrible towel over my terrible sunglasses... heh
I would have liked to see the Chargers go farther in the playoffs... Darren Sproles is amazing... not sure if he's starter material JUST yet... but lots of respect for that offense
It was a nice justice that the play pinned them at the one foot line... but he should have been ejected... Good luck with your 49ers btw man... its a rough road ahead for those guys
I've been a Chiefs fan most my life but I may just end up being a bit of a 49ers fan if I end up moving out there any time soon... my Girlfriend lives in the bay area
I lost respect for Harrison as well. Thought he should have been ejected. It was the combination of repeated punches and then the throw down after the Cardinal player got up. Too much.
The final play of the game should have been reviewed. .
There was a chintzy roughing the passer penalty during that awful drive where the Cards got 3 major penalties that shouldn't have been called. At least they got the safety right.
Wish the Cards would have won. I went to bed very upset.
I'm not suprised we were both rooting for the Cardinals Chris... I mailed "reason why I'm shy" to my brother today btw... he let me read through it first since we only bought one copy of that.
Nice to know Cameron will get RWIS sometime soon to read.
I always liked Boldin(tho his drama a few weeks ago was weird) and Fitzgerald. Dockett, Adrian Wilson and Rodgers-Cromartie are also fun to watch. And Warner when he's on.
I don't really like this year's Steelers squad though I like the team in general. Rooney, LeBeau and Tomlin are great. Polamalu is a fantastic player. Also like the D-Line. Don't like the LB or secondary corps.
No he shouldn't have. When was the last time someone was ejected for an unecessary roughness penalty? If Harrison should have been ejected, then shouldn't Adrian Wilson have been ejected? You biased against the Steelers is glaring.
The media, the refs, the announcers, the commish, and the Cardinals organization all beleive proper action was taken on this play by the officails. I am glad all those reliable sources exist to shut morons like you up.
It wasn't a fucking punch. There are three open hand hits to the chest or shoulders. Granted one was after the whistle so he deserved the 15yarder for that. The remaining is nothing but football.
That was a punch. I'm not sure that the refs were unbaised. I was rooting for the Cards (I love rooting for the underdog...and whomever everyone around here is NOT rooting for. Plus, I like their jerseys better). So yeah...and that final play was sketchy as well.
Do you actually beleive it is fair to pass judgement on someone's personality over a single play in football or are you just really biased against the Steelers?
yaa srry bout those chiefs...maybe Thigpen can really be somethin this year...man u guys wer soooo close to knocking the chargers outta the playoffs...but because u didnt it could have cost the colts a suprbowl =[
When I think of the Chiefs, I think of that Snickers commercial where a guy is painting an endzone, and at the end a guy says "Looks great, but who are the Chefs?"
wtf?

Running into the holder is a penalty! The only excuse is if you are pushed into the holder by a member of the offense. Tripping, slipping, stumbling, or any other excuse you might think up still results in a 15 yard penalty and a first down! That's the rule!
Now the Harrison play was not a kidney punch! As was already pointed out you would have to hit him in the kidneys. Secondly, he hit him with the palm of his open hand. Clearly not a punch of any kind!

I laugh at your sad little patches of facial hair, and non connecting scraggly mustache.
uzumaki0 3 years ago

The fact is the officiating had me so mad, and everyone around me, steelers and cards fans.
sh1yne 3 years ago

When you know a little about the game, post another video junior.
pentaxj0e 3 years ago

If I was trying to make friends with Steelers fans I'd prolly tell them something like... "oh I rooted for you guys back in 1996 vs. the Cowboys (when you played cleaner football and a beast named Bam Morris scored a TD) but obviously that isn't true...
and yeah I'll give you that I meant roughing the holder...
mgphenom 3 years ago
You're talking about the Harrison foul as though the refs didn't make the call. They MADE THE CALL; it was a personal foul, unnecessary roughness, and they penalized the team for it, and the Cardinals scored. What more did you want from the refs? Even if they had ejected him, it wouldn't have affected the outcome of the drive.
You can't complain about the officiating when they make the calls.
And it wasn't a kidney punch. The call was on the ridiculous shove afterwards.
Shyaporn 3 years ago
Shya - I respect yo and I respect the drive it took to eventually win the superbowl for the steelers... pacmantab 3 years ago
MGphenom,
Whatever though.
I never once complained about officiating (once I became an adult anyway).
sjrr5545 3 years ago
I agree with you on one point. Whats done is done... they are the champs and no one person can dispute that... whether or not they won fairly? thats an entire other topic... and "cheapening" happens ALL the time in sports... if you are such a die hard fan then I suggest you IGNORE the talk as I did when my Spurs won a "Shortened Season" finals in 99. IF the critics are wrong - they'll be proven wrong by the right people - The Pittsburgh Steelers. We have the right to doubt till then
mgphenom 3 years ago
Mgphenom,
There were numerous, blatant holds not called on the Cardinals all day.
With so much on the line and such a swing, that's ticky tack.
sjrr5545 3 years ago
Can someone point out the kidney punch? I just don't see it. Your kidneys are in the middle of your back by your spine.
sjrr5545 3 years ago
that whole game was meant for steelers to win the nfl is not a leauge it is a business its all about making money and selling shirts and memorabilia and arizona doesnt have many fans pittsburgh does there for they make more money for the nfl in sb merchandise and so on look at all the bad calls against az its was worst than last years bullshit sb that the refs ruined
damuriders12345 3 years ago
There were more actual bad calls against the Steelers. The refs nearly won the game for Arizona with the safety call. Arizona got off lightly with the refs. You just don't seem to actually understand the rules as they are applied in the NFL.
OrangeDrink1974 3 years ago
Thats a plausible hypothesis damuriders...
and orange drink I would say more bad calls against the cardinals... there's a massive penalty differential... pretty blatant that the cardinals didn't "get off easy"
mgphenom 3 years ago
first of all for everyone to know that when james harrison '' committed his foul'' the play was not over. second of all the open handed blows were on the upper back which is legal when a player is on there stomach. its called a pancake. and the push after that was in the chest when play was still occuring. he is just very physical! you can argue either way. PLUS he gets held every time he blitzes.
LTKtastevoice 3 years ago 2
Please, you hit the holder or the kicker you're going to get a flag, end of story. That's it. No discussion. As for the Harrison incident it's a 15 yard penalty. There is flat out no punch there's a slap on the shoulder blades mate. Last time I checked your shoulder blades and kidneys have some distance between them. How about mentioning the BS safety call. That was a joke and a half. If that's holding the Cards should've been done 20 times for holding.
OrangeDrink1974 3 years ago
I feel exactly the same way you do. Everyone knows the Steelers won just cause of bad plays. Aaron Francisco didn't mean to do anything to Harrison, he just flat out attacked Francisco.
mrAZcardinal 3 years ago

naoba121 3 years ago
lalalalaaa :]
GraceRMH 3 years ago
You're way off base in your "assessment". He deserved the penalty, I agree. But that's football. It happens a lot and is missed a lot. How about all the mugging that happened on the offensive line when Harrison blitzed? Offensive lineman can't contain him, so they wrap up his head and neck A LOT! And Francisco went for his KNEES on that block. And if his helmet tapped him in the crotch, I would be wondering if the guy is taking a cheap shot as well. Which is probably why he pushed him.
dr00p1 3 years ago
I see it ALL THE TIME. As a Steeler fan, you watch the pass rush, and you see how many times Harrison would have come around the end for a sack if he wasn't held, mugged, etc. And it isn't called. How many times is there a replay because the offense did something, and in the replay you always seem to catch an offensive lineman behind Harrison with an arm around his neck or something. People wouldn't whine about calls if they saw how many holds aren't called on our pass rushers.
mrrusss 3 years ago
If you're team's specialty is offense, it's like having your receiver interfered with all the time and it isn't called. It's really frustrating to hear ignorant whining about calls in a Steeler game.
mrrusss 3 years ago
This was a bad call. Francisco went for Harrison's knees. He's a safety what is he going to do? Try and lock up Harrison? It does stop Harrison's rush on the punter but Harrison gets the advantage over him on the return as their roles reverse. The play's not over. Harrison has to protect the runback. Harrison shoves him back with a shot between the numbers with an open hand. There were no closed fists. The flag flew before the play was whistled dead. No kidneys no punch.
Rienzi1863 3 years ago

Look at it this way- had the Cards won you wouldn't be on here bitching like you think it might make a difference.
there- enjoy your "content"
Phlip425 3 years ago
If the refs were biased, why did they call a ticky-tack holding penalty against the Steelers that negated a big first down, gave the Cardinals two points, the ball, and a chance to win?
sjrr5545 3 years ago
ticky tack? hrmm... there were two blatant holds in the end zone... I dont think that was a very good example yo
mgphenom 3 years ago
Mate, if that's a hold on Hartwig in the endzone the Cardinals should've been penalised for holding on every single pass they attempted. Trust me the Cardinals got waaay better out of the refs than the Steelers did. Now get over this crap. It's only because a bad refereeing call that the Cardinals even had a chance to win. Without the safety it's first down Steelers and they probably run the clock out.
OrangeDrink1974 3 years ago
The defender was pulled to the ground is that not a hold? Cardinals got a lot of holding calls anyways
adawg6464 3 years ago
what defender? The Cardinals had a few penalties called on them for holding but it should have been 20 if the Hartwig hold is taken as the baseline for the offence. Hell there's a more obvious hold on Woodley on Fitz's second TD than the Hartwig one. the right tackle has arms encircling him from the side. He probably wouldn't have got to Warner before the ball is gone but then neither would the guy Hartwig supposedly held.
Cards got the real breaks, even then they couldn't win.
OrangeDrink1974 3 years ago
The blocker went at Harrison's knees, and the last time I checked your kidneys are not located north of you shoulder blade.
sjrr5545 3 years ago
He did not intend to. Harrison freaked out for no reason. That was the ugliest play i have ever seen. Harrison should lose his job and go work at McDonalds.
mrAZcardinal 3 years ago
HAHA best comment on this video mrAZcardinal... however there's a reason he was defensive player of the year... he's a freak... now maybe... maybe he's just a freak on HGH or Steroids... but he needs to hang out with Adam Sandlers Anger Management counselor not flip burgers at Mcdonalds... if he did that I'd be scared to eat there again.
mgphenom 3 years ago
and now. james harrison. it was open fist, not a punch. not enough to be ejected. he probably couldn't even feel it, he hit him in the pads everytime. i'm not trying to defend him on anything, it was unnecessary. but, (again, i'm not making excuses), he was held on every play. james took out his knee caps. and here, franciso tried to chop him. he's just trying to defend himself and let out some steam. but again, still unnecessary, but also not enough to get ejected, based on the current rules.
rickiann7151 3 years ago
now. granted, the roughing the kicker call was frustrating for cardinals fans, i can imagine. if it would have happened to us, i would have been pissed. but it was a legit call. you knock over the kicker or the holder, no matter what. especially the holder. that's uncalled for. i don't care if you "hit him that hard" or not, you can't do that.
rickiann7151 3 years ago
Oh yeah and like plenty of people have already said harrison was held nearly every play and it wasn't called so don't complain about unfair calling when it doesn't favor your team. The cardinals gave up alot of yards because of their own personal fouls which you can't hide. And i am a Steeler fan but i agree that our last super bowl win was bull but this one was won by talent of the Steelers and frustration of the Cardinals. I know yall are mad but all I have to say is Sixburgh baby lol!!!!!!!!!
djmj1011 3 years ago
Alright I'm addressing everything I heard stupid on here. First lolaly, if the refs were siding with the Steelers why would they review holmes catch for so long unless they were trying to take it back and even if they would've ruled the last fumble incomplete they wouldn't have had enough time to score anyway so you would still be up here hatin on the Steelers. To the dude in the video, you can't ever hit the kicker or the holder no matter how many times you "trip".
djmj1011 3 years ago
love harrisons passion and intensity. francisco obviously was going for the knees and seeing as how harrsion had been held nearly every snap, i can see how he could be pissed with francisco's move and i loved watching harrison beat him down. football is supposed to be ohysical, if you cant handle it dont bother putting on the pads and suiting up. go steelers
dfrisch7 3 years ago
while I disagree with you concerning applauding or not of Harrison... I do applaud you for stating your case without cursing... that goes a long ways in my book.
mgphenom 3 years ago
Also Kidney punch, watch the replay since when are kidneys located in someones upper back lol
jeffjones32 3 years ago
kidneys can be approached from the back and he didn't punch him in the UPPER back relook your shit...steelers won an unfair game.. Definitely a one sided game by the refs sorry man it was clearly on sided...what they took like 30 minutes to review holmes's catch and shit and they took 2 seconds to review the last call on the fumble, which was clearly bs cus he followed through, full rotation. soooo go fuck yourself lol
lolaly629 3 years ago
First off, it wasn't roughing the kicker, it was the holder, an unprotected player. The rule is you can't hit him at all. Second, do you know how much fighting goes on during a game lol.... there is punching, kicking, kneeing, elbowing, scratching all game long. Plus the play was still going, Harrison pancaked that Cardinal and he tried to get back up, perfectly legal to knock him back down. Do you know what goring is????
jeffjones32 3 years ago
definitely a personal foul, but it was not a kidney punch, let alone a punch at all... Kidney's are much lower on your back, and he hit him with his palm, it was a push while the guy was down.

let me get this straight... violent and demeaning behavior after a play is over is not only part of the game but also "great"? Its commendable???
mgphenom 3 years ago
I lost respect for Harrison as well. Thought he should have been ejected. It was the combination of repeated punches and then the throw down after the Cardinal player got up. Too much.
The final play of the game should have been reviewed. .
There was a chintzy roughing the passer penalty during that awful drive where the Cards got 3 major penalties that shouldn't have been called. At least they got the safety right.
Wish the Cards would have won. I went to bed very upset.

I'd like Big Ben if he weren't such a meat head.
ghostwise 3 years ago
No he shouldn't have. When was the last time someone was ejected for an unecessary roughness penalty? If Harrison should have been ejected, then shouldn't Adrian Wilson have been ejected? You biased against the Steelers is glaring.
The media, the refs, the announcers, the commish, and the Cardinals organization all beleive proper action was taken on this play by the officails. I am glad all those reliable sources exist to shut morons like you up.
tg101393 2 years ago
It wasn't a fucking punch. There are three open hand hits to the chest or shoulders. Granted one was after the whistle so he deserved the 15yarder for that. The remaining is nothing but football.
