  • Wow. I didn't know that dogs could be debarked. I thought your poor dog had asthma or something.

  • foiled!!!! barking is annoying.

  • Reva is too funny! Tough girl for sure!

  • Imagine being told you have 2 weeks to get rid of your pet or you will be evicted? There are Many reasons people are forced to have their dogs "debarked". And the surgery is a lot less invasive/painful as a spay or neuter. The dogs are happier, because they are allowed to bark freely afterwards without constant reprimand or painful jolts from a bark collar. The shelters are over run today, anyone who chooses a simple surgery over abandonment is well commended by me. Training does not always work

  • When I was a kid a possum snuck into my house through the doggy door, and my crazy ass wiener dog attacked it, chased it under my bed, and tore it apart. It was gross, but I had a newfound respect for my runt of a dog after that day.

  • what wrong with the your dog's bark. nice vid it has 17 thousand views thats good

  • she is aphonic

  • I rescued a Sammy (Samoyed) and he was debarked before I got him, so I can appreciate your situation. I adore him just the same as you do yours. Yay for doggie lovers!!!

  • Thank God your pup found you .. a good owner! I can't believe people would actually debark their dogs! I know you didn't do it too her but you are awesome for taking her in and loving her! I own 2 Iggy's that I rescued and they are the love of my life ... go you! You are awesome !!! Oh and I just adopted an opossum (thats how I stumbled on your video ;o)

  • sounds like a barking horn

  • Ur dog is just adorable! Ur very lucky to have her=) I have an IG and he would also go crazy to get that opossum. lol

  • You debarked your dog? Ive never heard of that.

  • no, I did not debark her, she came to me that way.

  • lmao! i love how angry reva gets, she reminds me of my dog.

  • Man seeing or hearing a debarked dog seriously messes with me. I have seen a lot of fucked up shit in my life but for some reason its this stuff that tears me apart. I don't understand how a "dog lover" could do this. I understand you didn't do it and I would have taken your dog in too, but it would hurt me to see that.

  • how in the world could u debark a dog

  • Too bad you did not read the other comments. You would have seen that Reva was debarked long before she came to live with me. Should I have not taken her because she is debarked? She certainly has no idea she is debarked and is perfectly able to express herself. My two other dogs are not debarked, BTW.

  • No I didnt mean anything like "how could you do that" i was just wondering how they would debark a dog.

  • A light anesthesia is used and the vocal chords are partially snipped. Sorry I assumed you were bashing me - some folks have really flamed me over the fact that she is debarked.

  • @james12251 He did push the debark button on his dog ;)

  • I just got a little nervous about her getting behind the truck. I hope it isn't a habit. What a beaut!

The opossum is cute too. lol Pink nose is cute. Looks like a big rat, but a cute one. lol

    ( :

  • No, it is not a habit for her to even be out front off lead, let alone behind the truck. We also live on a dead end street, so no traffic to speak of. She followed me out when I was carrying the trap with the opossum and was 100% focused on it as you can see.

Good observation - sighthounds in general should not be off leash in unfenced areas.

  • Awsomenick3 are you stupid? Greyhounds, whippets, and all sighthounds are supposed to have like 3 ribs showing all the time.....That was like the best looking sighthound ive seen.

  • lol hat der hund gekifft? XD

  • tried translating this - the best I could come up with is that you are asking if the dog got the opossum. No, she did not get it -I set it free in the forest.

  • Good job! I have a lot of critters that mess around my place but opossums are about the most respectable creatures I know. They are nature's scavengers. They don't want any trouble and whenever I surprise one on accident, they just walk away. Much respect for letting it go in the forest. Thank you.

  • nice bark and cute little possum

  • dog*

  • the dongs looks like you havent feed him for years

  • Do you know what a sighthound is? This dog is at her perfect weight and will live many years because of that. I suggest you read up on the breed.

  • Reminds me of my greyhound when she was alive.

  • So cute O_O

I ment the opossum. If I lived near you I would pay you like 100 bucks for it..

I want one so bad T_T

  • so cute

  • I agree with you AZApple. I am glad your dog is not affected by the debarking redwoodcurtain. poor thing does not care that it does not have really a bark more of a honking noise then enything.

  • The fact that someone would choose to surgically take away an animals ability to express itself over taking the time to teach it just shows how lazy people really are.

  • As I have said in previous replies to comments - Reva was debarked long before she came to live with me. It was not my choice and not one I would have made for her. However, that being said, Reva really has no idea that she is debarked - she still expresses herself just fine whenever she wishes, just not as loudly as most dogs.

  • she is obviously very loved and happy.

  • careful Reva, that opossum could have rabies. Lucky she didn't try to attack it but bark at it instead.

  • No.

Opossums are very unlikely to have rabies. This is due to the lower body temperture. The virus has trouble surviving long enough to infect.

  • i like the coloring on this IG. like a potsdamn greyhound

  • Her AKC name is "Red Hot 'n Ravishing" - and that is what she is!

  • The dog bark is been funny

  • it sounds like her barking is rough- is she ok?

  • Reva is de-barked. She came to me that way as a 4 year old dog. She can still make quite a racket and does not seem to realize she is de-barked.

  • She's beautiful! Such a shame the people who had her first couldn't simply teach her when barking was and wasn't appropriate. The Iggy mix snoozing in my lap right now sends her tail wags. :)

  • Bwa ha ha! What a cute and funny dog!

  • i have a pet opossum its a baby its had its shots they told us they wouldnt do it butthey did :)

  • You should see the fit my IG's throw when they are out back and really do have one cornered. I am not sure who needs to be rescued from who

  • What the hell is with that bark? Was it silenced or something?

  • Reva was debarked as a young dog, long before I got her, so she has a hoarse sound when she barks. She can be pretty noisy when she wants to. The debarking is not a choice I would have made myself. My other Iggy is not debarked.

  • i want to know what happened to the opossum...released into woodland away from housing estates i hope?

your dogs gorgeous but i think the opossum is gorgeous too.

  • the opossum was indeed released into a wooded area away from houses. It had snuck in my back door and was living in my house for several days (feasting on cat food!) before I was able to trap it.

  • The opossum is cuter than the dog!

  • Only if you like BIG RATs!

Be nice to my dog, her feelings are hurt now.

  • I agree. I have IG's and I see opossums all the time in my neck of the woods. Those critters hiss and bite. And opossums are frequent road kill. I'd rather have an IG anyday!

  • Hysterical! She doesn't want to actually TOUCH the varmint, ("Icky!") just yell and cuss at it, LOL!

I enjoyed seeing the opossum, too, thanks. :)

    AZApple

  • hahahahahahahahahaha!! I LOVE HER!

  • a true sight hound-she could care less of her bark..

  • She's pretty noisy for being debarked. My Aunt (R.I.P.) had a shelte that was debarked and was nowhere NEAR as loud as this dog.

  • Normally her bark is nowhere near this loud - she was over-the-top excited about this critter and putting her all into it. Usually it's more of a whisper.

  • she is very cute, to bad they had her debarked!

  • She came to me debarked at 5 years old. At this point I don't think she knows she is debarked - she can certainly make enough noise to wake me up if she needs too!

  • she is gorgeous!!! and a real cutie you have there. i'm glad she can wake you if she ever needs too...
