Bittersweet: knew him for the last 18 years of his life. Shared a blunt in Jan '05 in dressing room. He was in real bad shape: wearing O2, very weak -- still played the hell out of his axe!!! Got to see him in Memphis @ Handy Jam w/ Duke Robillard (asked if he could sit in -- big mistake!) Duke couldn't keep up, passed on all solos except last and choked!!!
