I saw Kim Sun Hee's version first, and I was honestly impressed and moved. Her singing has a bit more soul than this version, but if they got Angela Zhang to sing this version, this version could probably compare.
The Korean lyrics moved me--but they were very literal. Chinese lyrics to good songs are almost always deep. The Chinese lyrics to this song are much deeper (the translation i found on yt doesn't do it justice/isn't exactly correct and is too literal) and makes the song more powerful.
She sings great, but not as "passionately" great as Lee Sun Hee's voice. I definitely do not like watching her sing though...she bores me :S However, I do like the orchestra of this video much much more and either chinese or korean lyrics work fine.
@YoungJae85 It's Mandarin. Mandarin is a lot smoother-sounding than Cantonese (which is more choppy like German) so you're able to hear songs like these in Mandarin.
@aviraren Korean voice is indeed more powerful but IMO Chinese version has better accompaniment with all the instruments. I listen to the Korean one for Lee Sun Hee's magnificent voice and to the Chinese one for the beautiful instrumentality.
I don't know if you got the song yet, but if you want it I have it. If you still want it I sent it to you by email. If you don't mind you can just sent me your email address.
gosh..i love that flute....i'm crying....i saw a little bit of the king and the clown but never really watched it....hehe...i feel like watching it right now....should i....love the song....btw....where can i get this song...? love it....
...the lyrics. makes no sense with whats she's singing...>.> kinda wierd dancing from the people. it doesnt really fit. it's nice in a way i guess, but korean better
Kinda like the musical arrangements but the lyrics doesn't do the song justice. I would imagine something much more fluid and the language more inclined to the classics.
Vocal isn't as powerful as the Korean version either.
I don't know neither Chinese nor Korean, but this version's lyrics flow smoothly (from a non-native's point of view). It's not coarse-sounding like some renditions can be. The music in this one is lovely, like the Korean version. I think the mandolin really add A LOT to the emotion/atmosphere that listeners feel from this song.
I agree that Lee Sun-hee's voice adds more sadness/emotions to the song than this singer; however, both perform the lovely song wonderfully. =D
The Chinese version is better in terms of the instruments used, sound more lively. However, the Korean version has much more emotion. Both have plus and minuses. I like both! One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard!
You're right, I do feel the same, but still, I feel like the korean can't be compared in base of emotion... I just feel like it's magnificient, don't know how to describe it but well... ^^' The only thing the chinese version has ; the instrument, the singer sings well but I feel like it's not enough... and the lyrics aren't as strong as the korean's one... Well, it's just my opinion though ^^'.... By the way, enjoy this song everyone! :)
The translation of the Chinese lyrics, enjoy:) Hold your green Sleeve to warn my right hand I was waiting for this feeling for so long then you ask me Are You Happy? I cant say I have much of it We take on the masks but we can not take them off all our lives Where is the freedom? I just see you smile with tears I don't cry. I'm Looking forward to an eternal love My stage is a present but it's too late to give you all of mine
Maple leaves fall and no one knows when the rain will stop I warm the wine cup up with hands just me and my sadness You always say the happiness is anywhere look at the fireworks and flowers They make their own destiny I dance in the wind alone Will you come back for me and never be apart In the dream you dance with me anywhere else can we find such happiness? The first and the last love Now turn the clock back we wake up and still in love anywhere else can we find such happiness?
Heey I really want to know what's the meaning of the song (both korean and chinese) so... please could someone help me? thanks a lot :D that was a really disturbing movie
i don't like Chinese song but this sure has a catchy tone to it
