  • Thumbs up if you still listen to this song in 2012!

  • I KNOW YOU'RE GAY

  • this is such a good song, and the video is hilarious! :) why did the 80's go?!?

  • simplemente geniales, inolvidables,la musica actual no se compara con los reales artistas de los 80.

  • This is a super song :)

    A lot of memories, I love :D

    ( I am french )

  • The 80,s best time of the music.

  • Napoleon Dynamite music FTW!!!

  • Enola Gay was named after the pilots mother, they dropped Little Boy, The Nagasaki bomb, named Fat Man, was dropped by the plane called Bocs Car.

  • @Nudibranch182 Bock's Car

  • the atomic bomb was called little boy

  • enola gay was the plane that dropped the atomic bomb on hiroshima

  • @davyboy232 The plane that droped the bomb was called the Enola Gay

  • @19TommyT74 C'mooon all the song is about plane that droped atomic bomb called littile boy on hirosima at 8:15 (local time) and weather was slear and so on and on.... song is all about atomic bomb and that plane. RIP for those who ar not listening this song but passed away by little boy..

  • stop war!!

  • When I listen to this track on my ipod, that little motif which we first hear at 0:03/4 seems to 'flicker' from ear to ear. The same effects happens with other tracks too. So, how is that effect achieved, during the recording that is?

    Jass Wilder.

  • @Potionette81 That effect is called panning, which is when the sound is spread between both speakers or switched between the two. You can use panning to have say for instance the guitar in the track in the left speaker and the drums in the other. This is achieved post-recording, in the mixing phases.

  • Fuck the war!

  • make love not war!

    6 August 1945 8:15 AM

  • I wasn't even born in '80 but this is still by far one of the best songs I've heard

  • @MrCappuche I hate you! I can no longer take this song seriously. D=

  • @MrCappuche yeah....just go to suck his balls

  • BEST MUSIC OF ALL TIMES !

  • I think what the Enola Gay is American's consensus.

    私はエノラ・ゲイこそアメリカ人の総意だと思っています。

    It's America!

    それがアメリカなんです。

Meaning of the Enola Gay, the "Kill the Emperor" is.

    エノラ・ゲイの意味は「天皇を殺せ」です。

  • Sound quality is amazing! Thanks!

  • I WAS 13 AND THE MUSIC IS SOOO GEIL !!!! ICH BIN 13 UND DIE MUSSIIIICC IST SOOOO GEIL I LOVE OMD // ICH LIEBE OMD

  • I was 15 and the music was the best. Still is.... :))

  • very very good song this the very best nice to hear it again

  • THE BEST....This was music....! Still is!!!

  • bring back the song of the 80's....

  • The guy reminds me of Wallace

  • where the fuck did the 80's go and why

  • @oliimrie11 cause it was shit

  • @MrBuglebuggy Lol buggy you wouldn't have said that if you lived through it, the music wa fantastic, and more easy to listen to than this modern shite

  • @Hawksmist: I did and maybe at the very beginning and end of the decade were ok but the rest ........

  • @MrBuglebuggy shit talking of music as shit....not sure if the shit gets the shit tho...

  • @Nagato3303 I said the 80.s were shit....

  • @MrBuglebuggy exactly and i said shit talking of the 80's music as being shit, however the shit apparently did not get the shit ;)

first and third shit are you my friend. You cannot disgrace the best generation in music known to man when our generation makes cheap copies of them just to get idiotic fame. I hope you got my point bro ;) I'm ashamed to say that our generation has the shittiest music history known sad but true. or at least just my opinion...

  • @oliimrie11 lost because of senseless people who unlike you and me (i'm only 18 i'm not that old) who listen to real music prefer to listen to rappers talking about drugs and getting laid with their whores and faggots. i think that answers your question. You and i are the minority my friend. I wish them to come back but given the IQ of the world today...i guess many won't even be able to comprehend the deep meaning of such songs let alone make a hearing wonder like this one.

  • @Nagato3303 well said. :) i despair for this generation of 'music lovers'.

  • @Nagato3303 rap is for the insecure masses who have no opinion on life and think "acting big" gives them a status in life ... ask any of the pricks what this song's about ??

they wont have a clue.. its sad

  • @thebaldybishop

Well said ya cunt. COCK DAMAGE.....ding ding ding ding!

  • @thebaldybishop spot on mate. personally the best music eras are the 80's followed by 90's and then the 60's. No era can ever hope to beat those 3 decades.

  • @Nagato3303

    the 70's? :P

  • @bigtiti12 can't complain about them but i haven't got enough music experience to discuss them XD

Still they definitely were a better musical era than today's -.-

  • @oliimrie11 It transformed into the 90s. Honestly the 80s and 90s where equally as amazing. Plus the 90s was the golden era of action films so that was a plus :D

  • @oliimrie11 Stupid question but I keep on asking the same thing too

  • @oliimrie11 It came back in a cynical mutated form.

  • The sound quality on this is EXCELLENT, probably because they didn't distort and compress to make it sound loud on crappy underpowered sound systems. Most stuff on youtube sounds awful. Did anybody make a song about Bockscar, the bomber that dropped Fat Man on Nagasaki?

  • i was only a child when my father bought a CD from OMD, and i loved it, as much as i love it now. I'm 15 years old, and this is one of my favorites songs.

  • legend

  • OMD is very popular in Poland, I WANT their concert here!

  • When it came off it was a jump into the future and nowadays still rocks!

  • good music, cool lycris

  • outer and inner transparency

  • Real bass players don't need cables. Ha. Great song.

  • they play this song at Starbucks

  • nice bass!

  • this is good! try Scooter's version

  • thumbs up if you're here because of the movie "waltz with bachir".

  • I need bigger speakers!

  • i love this song!

  • SPORTING!!!! 1906

  • I search for a song similar to this :/ Help me :P

  • @christoph922 how similar? A remix? I know there's one by david guetta and omd

  • the bomber plane was named after the pilots mom- she had to be able to drop a bomb 2"

  • went to Bristol to see the band in the early 80s, first gig I been to didn't know what to expect, when they lead out with this song the entire hall was up dancing on the seats in the isles, and which a beat like this "what the hell" i thought and joined in. what a show and what a Band.

  • Classic

  • Per non dimenticare una carneficina che non si deve più ripetere...........

  • I remember telling my friends what this some was about, and some didn't even know it until I told them. One of the best songs of the 80's

  • @MegaCrasher3000: Wow, very well said sir.

The only thing I know is that this song makes me feel as though I don't have a care in the world. Thats somewhat pathetic, but doesn't make it any less true!

  • Finally a sound without chicks, tits or asses. Just a song, a great one.

  • u should have stayed home yesterday

  • the singer looks like rob brydon

  • mm tha ithela na eimastan mazi otan to akouses live.. <3 :*

  • Whoah, shit! This is like... older than Miami Vice, man!

  • Bob on this.

  • You've gotta love the CR-78 drum machine,just got one today!! I love retro-futurism!!

  • he looks like neville longbottom!

  • The drum machine in the intro sounds like a TR-606 to me. Thoughts?

  • @MegaCrasher3000 It doesn't sound like a TR606. It couldn't be anyway, because they didn't exist at the time the song was produced. It sounds way more like a Roland CR78 or maybe CR6000. Buy yeah, at least you guessed the right company (ain't Korg or Bontempi or anybody else for sure).

  • @zerobeat18

Haha, good point. I didn't think about it long enough to check the release date of the 606. Well, at any rate, it sounds damn sweet... and I love how that intro drum pattern pretty much continues through the whole song, underneath the live drum track. Perhaps the best synth-pop song ever recorded.

  • this is about the bomb 'little boy' an atom bomb that was dropped on hiroshima japan in 1945, the plane what dropped it (b29 bommer) was nicknamed 'enola gay' who was the pilots mother.

  • @jelleyman123 Miss Tibits

  • @jelleyman123 true !!!!

  • Neville Longottom after finishing hogwarts xD awesome song by the way :D !!

  • I loved that they used this song in "Waltz with Bashir"

  • My dad was born the day Enola Gay dropped her payload >.<

  • @RyogaXvX I was born Aug 6 1955 - 10 years to the day. Not proud of that actually :)

  • Moj ulubiiony utwor .

  • Ask Russians that now live in the west about the cold War, they were told that we the Brits, our buddies in the U.S and Ze Germans were geared up and ready to invade any day.

Much the same as our governments told us about them, all in order to plough more money into defence budgets. devolping weapons that the third world can use when they fancy it.

Governents bullshitting their own people for thousands of years.

  • ok Teokgaming how old are you? try liveing during the 80s when some asshole culd press the red buton and wipe us all out the song is a warning not a tune for a a game

  • @mrbump20001 i am 13, i understand this song, i love it :)

  • @mrbump20001 Was that at all necessary?

  • The synth that comes in at 0:07 is terrifying. Really evocative of the devastation of nuclear war. Makes me thing of the hideous mutants conveyed in games such as Fallout 3.

  • YES THIS IS GOOD MUSIC

  • hey! what about the other video when it appears a blonde child dancing like a potatoe? Which is the official? Because in youtube you never know.

  • This song is truly a work of art and may be the finest song of the original new wave movement. It has a relentless, danceable beat, layers of gorgeous analog synths, instantly memorable melodies, and of course an impassioned vocal delivery. The dark subject matter only gives it more depth and emotion.

  • @MegaCrasher3000 absolutely - us Brits were lucky to be brought up on the forefront of this music genre .OMD are superb and listening to this song its 30 years old this year it is still timless musical genius - went to Polish wedding this year and they used the rhythm for a catchy Polish pop song without the lyrics which they had to do under the USSR to avoid the tag of listening to subevrsive western music and were blown away when I played this original song to them

  • @MegaCrasher3000 don't forget about the amazing bass line...

  • Very gay indeed.

  • We saw a movie about the bomb, and everybody laughed when they said, the fly's name were Enola Gay xD

  • Enola Gay is .....

...a Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, named after Enola Gay Tibbets, mother of pilot Paul Tibbets.[2] On 6 August 1945, during the final stages of World War II, it became the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb as a weapon of war. The bomb, code-named "Little Boy", was targeted at the city of Hiroshima, Japan, and caused extensive destruction.

  • I finally get to see OMD tomorrow night. God, i ve been waiting for 25 years. Im so excited.
