Vinylsolution-thanks for these outstanding videos, love this time era in my life-so many of these songs bring back fond memories of my childhood from the late 60's early seventies!!!
The dialect he's using is sort of mixture of southern accents. Little bit of cajun, Southern Appalachian, and African-American from Louisiana/Mississippi gulf area. Like he's been listening to old country and black blues and just put them together. And in a damn nice way, nonetheless. I say this as a native Southerner.
They were also on a short-lived show called "The Music Scene", prime time on ABC, exactly 9 months later, December 1, 1969. Other guests that night were Neil Diamond and Mama Cass. 40 years ago tomorrow night as I write this!

@Raughwe great man, thanks for the good answer, very informative. i think it sounds pretty nice and different too, very genuine.

@Raughwe this band is from California, while they have a sound of southern infused music, they are from Pacific Coast.

@rbrjony- Knew that.

@rbrjony: Already knew that (like 30+ years ago). And that has nothing to do with the question at hand.

I really like some of these songs CCR made. Just good ol' school chilling, and quite healthy for the younglings today.
Instead of all that gangster/pop/bastard music :(
