The GPS doesn't matter. The U.S. model doesn't have the limiter, and the horsepower is 480, so I'm not sure where these people get their info. Each engine is custom built so the horsepower can fluctuate, but they have to make 480 at the crank to be sold.

Yep! Maybe late news but I spoke to a GTR tuner and he says that HKS have done it. They have made a device that mounts the cpu in the gtr and disables that GPS Speed limiter. Nissan here in Japan told me that they had to produce a car that couldn't be hacked or the Japanese law wouldn't approve the production!! they must be gutted! lol

2009 Nissan GTR has launch control. You set it, hold the brake, hit the gas, rpm go to 4500, then let off the brake. 0-60 comes in 3.3 sec according to Edmunds road test. Doesnt sound too hard to me....

redfansocks the Audi, if it's the one your talking about in this video is a 6.5 liter V12 that does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. Costs 300,000.00 The 70,000.00 GT-R does it in 3.3 seconds (just a little faster) and only has half of the cylinders (although forced induction) and the Audi has 6.5 liters of displacement. At least it can almost keep up. Top speed may be faster, but once you get above 200mph I tend to factor that out a bit. Since I get a little nervous about a blow out at speeds over 180 mph.

If the Nissan GT-R was any lighter it would take off like a plane. 156 mph with the govener, over 190mph about 200mph without it. Mot the fastest car in the world but for 70k you can't beat it. I'm keeping my 2008 5.7 liter Tundra and supercharging it along with getiing one of the v-spec GT-R's they shoul be a step up in overall performance and hopefully a 2.8- 3.3 0-60 times and 1/4 times comming in at around 10.5 10 flat would be insane and would wait in line with 100k for it.
