  • Bass player IS Greg Ridley. Concert was 2001, Ridley died 2003. Drums - Jerry Shirley Bass - Greg Ridley Guitar viewers left - Frampton Guitar viewers right- Clempson

  • FRAMPTON LOOKS FUNNY WITH NO HAIR,DID YOU SEE HIM ON THAT TV COMMERCIAL

  • excellent, never seen

  • That has to be Shirley on drums! I don't think anybody (not even Keith Moon) rode a crash cymbal like Shirley.

  • @rondolce It is. I have a copy of this DVD given to me by Jerry, himself, jut a few weeks ago. I had the good fortune of meeting him while he was on his book tour. Great book, by the way.(Best Seat in the House).

  • To all who commented here- You can find original version of this song on Humble Pie-Rockin the Filmore-I was there-(29 May 1971 Fillmore East, New York, NY- Lee Michaels, Humble Pie, Fanny) The Guitars-L to R: Peter Frampton,Greg Ridley, Toby Marriott! Drummer may be Jerry Shirley! (not sure)Thats defiinitely Frampton-Clempson had a lower voice and played the lead solo differently-Saw them with clempson at The Academy of Music with Edgar Winter White Trash--December '71! Loved Humble Pie!!

  • @ChimpsInTuxedos excellent!! thanks for the input!!

  • @ChimpsInTuxedos I saw them open for Black Sabbath in a roller rink about one month before 'Fillmore' was recorded. (My first concert). So I got a good taste of the 'Fillmore' vibe. I saw them during the Clemson era, too. About '73 or '74. They really rocked a great show then, but nothing could compare to 'Fillmore'.

  • @thebird55 In December 1971 They Headlined at The Academy of Music and Edgar Winter wamed up-This was their 1st NY Concert with Clemson-I was totally unaware of the Change and also was a Big Frampton-Marriot Combo Fan! Edgar and the White Trash were Fantastic and unfortunately It took me awhile to Warm up to the Clempson Era! ----RICO

  • @ChimpsInTuxedos who knew these artist were so connected!

  • @nomiclas just found another live album this time with clem clempson on guitar called "Up Our Sleeves" Even though I enjoyed the band much more with Frampton, it has some vintage Steve Marriot on it! Check it out!

  • @ChimpsInTuxedos Frampton Clempson and Shirley. Bass palyer escapes me right now. Ridley was already dead by this time.

  • @ChimpsInTuxedos man, I'd love to sit down and pick your brain about all those shows

  • @hunterjinx Send me a private msg withyour phone # on my chimps in tuxedos channell-I'll pay for the call-(I love chatterboxin about all the concerts I went to)Cant wait to hear from you!--------RICO

  • @ChimpsInTuxedos I have the academy bootleg!! GREAT show !!! You lucky guy, I love them!!

  • @ChimpsInTuxedos WOW!!! To actually be there must've been so AWESOME! I saw them live at the Forum in L.A. a couple of times but after Frampton had left. Still great concert though! I saw Frampton's Camel a few times back in the early 70's too. Once at the Long Beach Auditorium (Just one big rectangular room and a pretty small venue.

  • @fenderbassfan Between 1968 and 1985,living aprox an hour and a half north of NYC, I was blessed with the opportunity to see many of the great concerts of that time frame and I have many great memories from those events!-----Rico

  • I missed seeing Humble Pie in Melbourne. Fortunately I saw the Free, Deep Purple, Manfred Man concert at Festival Hall (i think 1973). Steve Marriot, Pete Frampton and the excellent back up crew made such a great rock band I was so sad to hear them pass but am so greatfull for videos such as this to remember what rock is all about.

  • @rstephen4u too bad Dude ......you " just missed " the best or one of the BEST Live Rock band ever .... :-(((

  • what album is this on please anyone?

  • @benbrenyefski - It's from the album, "Humble Pie - Performance/Rockin' The Fillmore " - you can find it on CDUniverse for $8 US.

  • @pmm01532 "Humble Pie - Performance/Rockin' The Fillmore " was in 1971. Unfortunately we lost Steve Marriott in April of 1991

  • Its Jerry on drums all original Pie Members except Steve this was his Memorial concert

  • Awesome video that brings back memories. I saw Humble Pie as back-up band for Grand Funk Railraod at the Syndrome in Chicago in 1970. Became a big fan after that.

  • Steve Marriott didn't survive past '91, so putting his name in the heading is erroneous. That's Clem Clempson on 2nd guitar.

  • fyi, it was billed "The Steve Marriott Astoria Memorial Concert". you're correct about Clempson, but Toby Marriott played Steve's guitar for the concert.

  • @pmm01532 who is Toby Marriott?

  • @roaringwaterbay he's Steve Marriott's only son, born 1976, lead guitar and vocals for the band called the Strays.

  • it was a gig to commemorate the late great Steve Marriott. It would be wrong not to place Steve's name in the title!

  • @pawnee55 i agreee,

  • OK... that had to be Greg Ridley on bass. Who is on drums? The first concert I ever went to (1971?) was Black Sabbath on their first American tour. I had never heard of the opening act, Humble Pie, before. Saw them couple more times in the mid-70s without Frampton. Also saw Frampton's Camel befor he dropped the Camel and went solo. If you liked this I would highly recommend Performance/ Rockin' the Fillmore.

  • there were three drummers for this concert, not sure who's playing in this video, it's either Jerry Shirley, Kenney Jones or Zak Starkey. thanks for the recommendation.
