It registers as a virus because it is inputting code to remove it from your registry. I have used this and it works perfectly.

Now i am completely unfamiliar with the way it works but in a nutshell it does something Win7 does not want to do so that would make it a malware, from their perspective, right? Nevermind, it has been days since i did it and i have had no Genuine pop-ups/messages/watermarks. Disabled the Avast whilst i installed it btw. Once the lap-top rebooted Avast reactivated and everything was fine ever since. Hope this helps.

I've used this and it works perfectly! Your antivirus will probably pop up, but first you ignore that. AFTER you fixed windows genuine you run your antivirus and lets it removing the "virus".

Simply as that :-)

Also make sure you go back into the updates and "hide" (disable) the WAT update number KB971033 as noted in the video, otherwise you may inadvertanly redownload it and need to run again.

Links are good. Windows Defender sees them as a threat because it knows what it'll do by definition. It doesn't like things removing updates and sees it as an attack. Both work and work well. 4 thumbs up
