What's so surprising about the selling prices on these electric cars? Aren't the majority of gas powered "super cars" in the six figure range to begin with? Try pricing some of the really high end Porsches, Ferraris, Mercedes, etc. Good luck in finding anything under $250K.

The fastest electric car comes from Croatia and it`s called "Concept One" by Rimac Automobili, the same cmpany that made the E-M3. Performance: 4 motors (one on each wheel) with 1088 hp and 3800 Nm of torque, 0-100 km(h in 2.8 sec. and a top speed of 305 km/h. Range of batteries is 600 km. ;)

At no point is it claimed in the video that this is the fastest electric car in the world and the stats you supplied are not near other current record holders. News is facts, or should be anyway.

@keithildinho So it sounds as if there is some debate as to what the world's fastest electric car is? Are we talking production models? I've seen a 1972 Datsun do a 0-60 in 3 seconds, with a top speed of 114mph. The Inizio does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 170mph and can be driven today. So yes, I think we aren't far off base with the claim that the Inizio is the world's fastest electric car.

For example, can you imagine the New York Times writing a headline like this and then the story being about a car that is not actually the fastest electric car in the world but actually just a fast electric car being compared to another fast electric car and then were stupid enough to publish figures that contradict the claim of the headline?

who said that half the cars in north america will be electric by 2015? So in four years we are going to up grade our power grid enough to handle that? Electricity is a good thing, but its not free, it comes from somewhere, and right now the choice of energy to use is either oil or electric, but what happens when electric is the main energy source avaiable? Do you really think electricity prices are going to stay where they are right now?

@Zeroto90 most current forms of power generation generate the same amount of power all day long even when it's not needed because they can't be shutdown and restarted quickly. Since EVs are normally charged at night when most of the power is just being wasted, the power companies can supply it without any extra cost. I agree we probably won't see a switch that fast, but that's because of the turnover rate of people buying cars not the power grid.

Before 2015 there will be over 100 diffrent models of ev to choose from in north america and prices that will be cheaper to finnace than your cars current gas bill witch is more than your current food bill... Who would you rather feed at the end of the day your car or your family?
