  • You really are one decent human being and Ethiopians are grateful for all your efforts! We will support you in any way we can.

  • If they have water but its dirty they could make Biosand filters to clean the water.

It looks like papercrete or rammed earth blocks would be better and cheaper than the walls made from corrugated steel.

And a little passive solar could go a long way there. Could even produce refrigeration, thus reducing the electricity demand.

Would LED lights be cheaper than providing more electricity?

  • That is great.

  • My comment needs approved for this video, so I doubt you will put it on. But if you loved America, you would post it. If you dont post it, then I think you and most other people should just leave this country. Sorry and please forgive me if I am making an inaccurate assumption.

  • My friend, I think you mistake my motives. I help many people that are in need in our own country.

I dont rely on my government or country to feed the homeless or help the less fortunate. I have the right to help as many as I wish! I think you should open your eyes and see whats going on.

Again, I love this country but I love people and that dont have borders.

  • Sorry, but I am unsubscribing to your channel now. Why in the hell would anybody spend money to help other countries "in need" right now, when our very own country is in so much debt, and is literally falling apart. I dont see anything wrong at all with helping other countries, but when our country is in need of help. Why spend money on other countries. I dont get it. Are you a communist?

  • Thats OK.. Not everyone has a heart for people.

Your right, the US is in need.

But here are a couple simple truths about the USA.

If you dont have money for food, you can get food stamps and eat.

If you dont have money for a home, there are places you can stay for almost nothing.

There are lots of things here that make America great. I love this land and think we need to fight for what we have. But with all we have its only right we take care of others that dont have.

  • Hi Pete thanks for uploading this.

I live in the Uk and every year we have large charity campaigns for this very issue. Unfortunately this is never enough and to be honest never seems to get any better. Money donated doesnt always get there and the ppl that need it often go with out due to greed and monopoly. Having said that i would be willing to donate as much time as you need to your cause and think everybody should make the effort to do the same.

    Peace

  • I know exactly what you mean... This will not cost very much to fix for this town. I have some people willing and able to help. Im going to spearhead this and I will video document everything done.

Its all about accountability; I wont allow greed to stop funds from hitting these families. Anyone that wants to be on site with us is more then welcome. I need help, ideas and support.

    Thanks,

    -Pete

  • Best of luck on this project. It is a pity that such a beautiful land does not have the governing bodies in place to get what the people need TO the people that need it! I wish I could help.

  • Agreed. Sometimes we cant just wait on the government.. We see that in the US too.

    Thanks,

    -Pete

Do U know Ethiopia is home of the arc of covonants ?Do u know our ancistors Homo Sapiens first walk in ethiopia (check LUCY in New York musieum) ?

Do U know ethiopia is a nation where muslim and christians live together for 100's years Harmoniously?Do U know Ethiopia is the only uncolonized nation In Africa who defit European invaders?

  • I will be honest, I went to see the Ark. Im glad I went.. The need is so great there and its something we can make difference for the people.

I really fell in love with the land, people and culture. Not to mention the food. But seriously, its a place unlike anywhere I have ever been before.

I have big plans for the people there.

    All the best,

    -Pete

  • I don't know how expensive fuel is over there but if it's prohibitive, initiating a local biofuels program for domestic trading might be a way of bringing some money into the local economy for public infrastructure. Let me know if you ever need someone to travel and build local projects, I'd love to help.

  • I will have to look into that.. Thanks for the ideas..

Right now we are laying the groundwork but I sure will let you know when we go back to put it in place.

    Thanks again,

    -Pete

  • I've just spent the last 3hrs watching GASIFIER videos. I think using biomass feedstock for electricity generation might be the easiest to understand and initiate in 3rd world countries. Using the electricity to run dehumidifiers (thanks for that idea btw;) to offer clean water will get a few of the problems dealt with.

  • nice.. Yeah there are many ways to skin the cat for these issues.

  • How did the food/water there treat you over there?

  • Water will be pulled from a well thats very deep and should pull pretty clean. We would filter it after that to make sure we get all the junk out of the water.. The locals now grow and buy their own food but I would love to setup professional farms to grow a lot more and get the max from the resources.
