this is a lot better than any other womens self defense i've seen. i think we all know a woman is fucked when she gets grounded by a full grown man. a choke from guard is probably one of the few moves that affords enough leverage from the hips for a woman to overpower a real attacker.

You can't discount the sport styles for their good positioning; and if she doesn't understand that position but is willing to fight dirty; she'll still more than likely lose that scenario. Now; if she combines it with eye gouging, pulling the ears, and biting; shes very likely to beat an attacker.

The trouble with the lethal styles is that they are based on ritual and bullshit mostly; so they are are willing to gouge and bite but they have no depth of understanding when it comes to positioning

I agree with you on the fact that if somebody wants to cause harm, they WILL cause harm no matter what.

However, most men who attack women are really not expecting the girls to fight back. I know this from experience. It's likely that when a man tries to take advantage of a woman and she attacks right back they won't be ready for it, and they might underestimate the woman's ability to cause harm.

I think a woman has to pull out all stops, and hair pull (hyperextend his neck backward, if he has enough hair), bite hard, eye gouge to make further space, and run (in that order).

But there is a difference when you're attacked in a public place (the street, a nightclub), where there the attacker is at risk of being caught, than where you're the unfortunate prey of some deranged and dangerous character. I think that these videos aim to instruct the woman on how to put herself out of danger in a situation where the attacker is not likely wanting to fight back for fear of being caught by the police or recognized in any way.

I do think that you have to do whatever it takes to save your life when you are at risk of losing it. I don't think the technique used in this particular video is very helpful (unless you're fighting over the TV remote), but the idea of the whole set of videos is not entirely unnacurate. If you practice the moves and you're committed to saving your life, this stuff works. To fight a psycho you'd have to know Krav Maga, though.
