  • are you cutting it down to a size that is stated in a book, for your match bushing size, or to a non fired round you have to compared?

  • @fishblade2 I'm cutting it to uniform the neck thickness on this particular bullet. When I make 308's from 30-06 I cut them to the best dimensions of my chamber. I don't use bushing dies. I shoot a lot out of my 308 M1 Garande so I need the neck tension.

  • @ammosmith how do you know your best chamber dimensions?

  • @fishblade2 It depends on a lot of things. I use a 30-06 to 308 with a slug seated (no powder or primer) then try to chamber it. It usually won't because of the neck wall thickness and I peel off enough for it to chamber. Takes several times to get it exactly right.

  • I have a few questions for you.

    1. To Know How deep to cut shouldnt you keep turning untill the blade just scratches the thin side?

    2. Are You acomplishing the same thing either inside or outside turning?

    3. Compared to all the other ways of increasing accuracy such as headspacing, using an AOL Guage how far up on the scale is neck turning?

  • great vid
