  • chirp chirp chirp, blah blah blah.

  • -1 you have!

When you call your video "...motor..." , try to make it move by any other force but not by your hands >:(

  • how much money would you sell this rotor for? (in US dollars $)

  • Very nice. Many of my doubts cleared. So now I just need to figure out how to light up a led with this

    xD

    thanks!

  • just hook up the two ends of the coil to the led and one the other way round.

    It will light both up..

    Paul..

  • what sort of magnets did you use?

  • Neodymium....

  • Thought so, thank you

  • No problems, you making a motor then?

  • yea i am gotta buy some magnets

  • dude just stop o0

its just like a fucking normal electric motor.. just not as efficient

  • dude how do you know that? Have you tested it?

  • 2 questions:

how does it work if all the magnets are north side out?

    and

what are you going to do with this motor?

  • It pulses each magnet with a south coil.

    and

Its a timing device for starters but it will be used for a Tesla Switch....

  • Interesting project. I've followed your progress. Suggest you try Tee Nuts instead of hex nut and washer. They are available with or without prongs. The prongs can be ground off. Tee nuts would allow the coil to be much closer to magnet. A little Loctite would secure the threads. I share your concern on screw heads coming out at speed!

  • Thanks for the advice, I thought that the heads of the bolts might need a bar with a hole drilled through it as a washer if they do not cope with the forces.

I will google Tee Nuts, I was planning on loctite but want to be able to swap the poles of the magnets. I might swap the nuts and bolts around so the bolt head is on the outside.

  • try counter sink the magnets maybe ....use counter sink head on the bolts ....

  • great job looks like something straight strait out of a science fiction movie.

  • Thanks, Its going to look great when its working. Might use see through acrylic as the main houseing if I can source it cheap enough.

  • Great job, I am still not clear how you "wedged the parts in there" but looks good.

  • Thanks.

I have to take it apart again to fix the bearing to the housing I am going to make. I will spend some time on showing how its fixed then.

Its like an Ikea fixing in reverse....

    Paul.
