DUDE!!! ok thanks for the response. when you see posts from 11 months 1 year, etc...it makes a guy wonder if the page is monitored anymore. How fucking rude DUDE!!!!
If you want to make some money from your arts and crafts then you can visit this site ibuyandsell.web.com try it it just started up and they are looking for people to sell them some of their crafts.
Hey man, I am a painter having some serious painters' block. I have a set of chisels from japan, my dad gave me. They are kind of old looking (1930's?). Anyway I want to use them, but they look a lot smaller than the chisels you have. It is a box containing 2 "u" shaped and 2 "v" shaped. Are these for the same type of wood working?
Same here, looking forward to #8 and very interested in seeing the sharpener. I have a similar bench sander I would like to make the same mod too.
Only suggestion I would make is that raising the camera would make a better angle on the work, and perhaps at the end of each segment, turning the work toward the camera would be nice.
I have enjoyed your videos and am looking forward to #8. Some additional detail on carving the eye - the part I find the trickiest - and sharpening would be appreciated.

I use the largest tools I can find! My work is aggressive.
The Japanese tools are well-known for their quality, so YES, use them.\; but go easy, as not to break them...
If you find that a larger gouge is preferable, then jsut move along, but do hang on to these great japanese tools.
they have a long history of developing a different way of woodcarving that we did in the West.

how long did it take for you to make this
CJAM16 2 years ago
Hi CJAM16 !
If you jsut add the videos together...that's it! I suspect just over an hour.
When I want to, I can carve one in just under an hour with practice. It isn't hard, once you learn the patterns.

Try Super Glue, you don't have to wipe it off and you can restart in a few seconds. ;-)
Nice Work!
