Usually the ones whom have a demising fate with a bear, are the ones who run from one, make a sudden threatening movement, or do something else stupid like that.. No, there are no taxes in Anchorage. No sales tax and no state income tax. Only property tax. It is a beautiful place however it is not for all. The summers are wonderful but the winters are long. For that to work you have to enjoy some sort of winter activity... snowmachining, snowboarding, skiing or hockey hobbies are all a plus.

Yes, there are some really nice places in anchorage, theres the anchorage museum downtown which is the largest museum in alaska, also make sure u check out the hiking and bike trails up north, u can get a beautiful view of anchorage from up there and its worth the walk. There are also other cool places in downtown and ull know when u come across them. Anyways I hope you have a great time when you get there ^_^

Anchorage is nice. But i'd rather live in at least Eagle River or South Anchorage. Mt. View is so dirty, Muldoon is run down, downtown as too man damn terrorist..i mean tourist. One lady on 4th ave awanted my picture once because I grew up here.
