  • ya you need to just ditch the stock twins when you can thats what i need to do just am building 12 psi then when i get in to 3rd i get more load am runing 15 but have to shif at 6500 or so or it drops boost

  • I ported my '94 Rx7 turbo. Before: home.comcast.net/~servlet3/Rx7/Port0.html After: home.comcast.net/~servlet3/Rx7/Ported0.JPG I ported my turbo when I replaced my engine: home.comcast.net/~servlet3/Rx7/EngineWorkPics.html You'll get the best advice from rx7club.com You'll blow your engine if you have a full exhaust with stock ECU and no boost controller. Get a rotary engine compression tester. New engines give up to 120 psi.
  • you wuldnt wanna swap that fd foe an fc wuld u???

  • Should be 10PSI on the first turbo, 8PSI on the crossover then back to 10PSI on the secondary. I have never heard of an FD boost creeping with a full exhaust. If you are worried go grab a PowerFC. Oh and the boost dropping at high load/RPM is normal and typical due to the size of the turbochargers.

  • I know this video is kind of old, but I will try to help answer your questions... Replacing your muffler should not create boost creep in any situation... I am running a 3" turbo-back on my talon and have had no such issues. Boost creep is usually caused by a faulty wastegate (or sometimes perfectly good internal ones) your fd probably has a stock turbo, so it is most likely internally wastegated. So.... yes! get a muffler! fd's sound great... good luck!

  • Nice video dude...

where did u find your car??

  • good video dude! and great car ;)

  • Assuming CAD software is of interest. It is CoCreate OneSpace Modeling.

  • what software are you using?

  • ilove the fd, and want one, but ill never be able to get one and enjoy it, being 6'4'' makes its suck.

  • awsome fd. well i got a qustion i always hear horros stories about rotarys?im thinkin of buyina 93,is there any thing i should watch for and make sure to look at before i buy the car has 98xxxxk

are they reliable? and i hear that there always being constantly fixed

    some one plz help me!!

  • It is a total unknown. If you know nothing about the cars, ask the man who is selling it if you can take it to a rotary special shop, or atleast a mazda dealer with a certified rotary tech and pay the hour of labor to get it checked out. If you dont know what to look for, or dont do that atleast, you could be in a world of hert

  • its normal for the boost to start to drop at high rpm... i would be extremely worried if it didnt... 12 psi on the first turbo is sweet... my wrx runs 14-15 on standard everything

  • my dad has that alpine headunit to

  • the way this guy made the video with his dry questions and granny shifting he could be my great grandpa..hey pops you should put a little more pep in you step.satr winding out the motor more and add some high end boost take away from the low end you probly never see those rpm's anyway

  • Go grab yourself a glasspack from an auto shop for 20 bucks, and use it until you get the muffler. I would, since they have great flow.

  • I just raced a black one today and wooped that ass! But he of course was running nothing but exhaust, so yeah my full-built LS-1 Camaro stomped him, but hey these are fun ass cars, hella fast when built, and pretty friggin reliable with those rotaries..

  • and practicly every stock turbo in the world will start to loose boost in the upper rpms because they sacrifice that little bit of loss in the high rpms for a quicker spool down low.

  • ....because i don't know how you drive but most the time you will not spend more that a second on the first turbo most your time will be on the second turbo if you understand what i am trying to say.

  • Other than the exhaust, it is as Momma Mazda made it (wastegate size?, injectors are stock, and original engine). I did find an unplugged vacuum hose by the upper vacuum chamber, but don't find the other end.? I'm going to go through all the hoses soon to solve that mystery. I went ahead and bought a racing beat 16427 muffler, and plan to put in a cat.

BUT, I just blew up the clutch, so that's next...

  • what wastegate u using?? 38mm 40mm 45mm?? inyector size? and ur engine it is stock inside no port??

  • You can port your wastegate(s) to help reduce boost creep. I helped a friend port his for his turbo II, the hard part is removing the turbo. On my piston engine my boost spikes at 14 and goes down to 10 at high rpm, i think its a normal thing. Good luck, I would love to have an FD someday.

  • You should not have a DP and a catless mid regardless of having stock exhaust. This will cause creep, which is what you are seeing by the 12 psi. BUT it will also cause boost spikes! These spikes are what will cause your engine to blow. Though you only see 12 psi max you could spike to 15, 18, even 20 psi at anytime without any notice. Having this happen will BLOW UP YOUR ENGINE. Get a aftermarket ecu, like the Power FC and a boost controller. Or put your cat back on.

  • I agree Actuator more than like and yes 10 8 10 is what you want. putting a muffler on will cuz the computer to mess up. before going any father try getting a after market computer this will help will any futher upgrade you want to do in now and later on.

  • mate you should be getting 10psi on the first in 3rd gear, then it will dip to 8 then backup to 10psi, if its tapering off then you may have an actuator or check valve issue, pull off the black vacum box infront of the UIM and check that valve.
