  • wat are your thoughts on winter fly fishing?

  • @pelletify Here in Calgary we are blessed with a river like the Bow that is open all year round. Fish can be found in "wintering holes" which are typically slow and deep. Fighting the iced up line guides are a pain, and the ice ledges are dangerous, but the fishing can be fantasic on +0 day

  • @humblefisherman dam.. i want to move to calgary. all the fishin i do in the winter here in idaho is lake ice fish for mackinaw. its fun but i would rather be fly fishing haha.

  • Very nice, good to see you come west every once and a while. Gotta love fishing the koots

  • @smokeyflatts the koots are the palce to be ;)

  • what state is this in? or is it even in the u.s.?

  • @pelletify the opening says somewhere in canada

  • @willcomentforfood oh yeah >.> maybe i should read the captions......

  • Thanks humblefisherman. Amazing video and great fight. What tippet were you using? Thanks friend.

  • @josegulias :) Thanks, I was using a 15 lb Maxima mono leader.

  • the bull trout. my favorite fish that i havent even caught yet. amazing vid. what a fish.

  • What a toad!

  • WOW!!!!!!

  • that was the best video i have ever seen, and i bet you did wish you had your 8wt lol.

  • That's epic! Well done.

  • Love the scenery and the fish. I've only fished one river with them in Montana and it looked similar to that one. Problem is they're protected so I have to live vicariously through you up in BC where you can fish for them. Great video.

  • Nice fish man, those things get like steelhead size! Do you ever go Steelhead fishing? ( My personal favorite :] )

  • is a bull trout a hybrid or does it just get the tag of trout by looking like one

  • they are not hybrids but they also arent true trout. they are a member of the char family, along with lake trout, brook trout, dolly varden and arctic char.etc. etc.

  • ooooh ok thanks for that

  • You guys know how to have fun. Nice fish and nice tunes!

  • haha nice bull i got mine on the elk river 2 years ago with a 5 wt it was 32 inches awesome fish

  • wery nice fish

  • o.k., now I want a turn......

  • big fish

  • im gunna guess eastern b.c. or western alberta.....what a nice freakin fish man that thing is massive!

  • I really enjoyed watching the video but I wish guys would just keep the fish in the water as much as possible and just take it out long enough for photos and then get it back in the water, I know if you kept an Atlantic Salmon out for that long it would not be good, Beautiful fish!!!!

  • if you put an atlantic salmon right back in the river after catching it is worse...you need to do exactly what the humblefisherman did..put in the water and hold it for 4-5mins so it can get some energy back befor letting it go..

  • Totally, I think they did a great job of getting the shot and releasing the fish with as little stress as possible. If they would have just tossed it right back it would have got pummeled on the rocks. They did the right thing by taking their time reviving the fish. I personally had to revive a 20" cutthroat for nearly 4 minutes before it had the energy to swim away on it's own. And it wasn't nearly the fight that bull trout put on.

  • Awesome video!

  • Monster bull.

  • nice!

    Fantastic trout!

  • Excellent! Now, That's what I'm talking about. Hopefully, to be into similar BC Bulls in less than one week. Long live The Dead...and the Bulls.

  • Great video. Thanks for posting! Looks like the Fording perhaps?

  • AAAAAAAARRRRRRRTGggggghhhhhhhh.....

    Thats insane.

  • Jay Jones you live up to your name. Not only was the catch footage great, but the way you treated that massive trout, the respect you accorded it was truly a sign of your character. Bravo! Long live the Dolly Varden!

  • great fish we dont get those in south central alaska

  • Pure Cold and Clean flow the waters of life, Humitity is virtuous.

  • very very nice thats what i call a trout
