Once you space the brick apart a certain distance you need only break the top ones, the rest works kinda like dominoes.

thats not really the case and you can even see that in this vid. the impact force was not enough to get to the last 5 or so.

spacing them out and lifting them off the ground just allows them to break but you still have to hit all the way through it.

if it would be that simple everyone would be smashing them.

The trick is that there are small spacers between the blocks, so breaking one caries the momentum over to the other and so fourth like a domino stack. Not much force is involved

True. Spacers help tremendously. Granted, energy, toughness etc is at work but take spacers away and i guarantee he'd break less. Also, lets see him try ice, that hasnt been pre-cut. If it sheers, its cut; it should spiderweb like glass, then you know its real. Much more flexible than concrete therfore much more difficult.
