  • Doesn't decreasing the shutter speed decrease light?

  • @ViktorBluhme Depends on how you interpret the word "decrease". Typically "increasing" the SS speed or using a "faster" shutter speed means to have shorter exposure duration. By slowing your shutter speed down, or "decreasing" you get more light. If you are a purist, and interpret "decrease" to mean a faster shutter speed, than yes you would be right, but I have found that when teaching beginners that decrease is best understood as "slowing it down".   • late night scenery that dont move .. select [shutter priority], shutter speed [15-30sec] ISO [100-200] and a good tri-pod tha will be a WIN photo =D

  • very helpful! I was at a wedding with low light and this proved to be very helpful. Although there was too much movement to capture good stills I just increased shutter speed a little and moved iso higher.
