Haha nice riffs man. Echoes and then Bring it On Home.... and the pedal sounds great too. I love these kind of pedals where you can tweak the hell out of the sound.
Currently playing on a orange tiny terror and I'm looking to get a more modern metal tone out of it. I was wondering if this pedal will give me the amount of distortion to get heavier metal tones. Also does will this pedal affect the nice tone my amp already is producing like my other distortion pedals do? Basically I want ausome tone but huge grunt out of my amp would this pedal be a great investment?
Actually, not really ... overdrive usually refers to a much more subtle "push" to drive the amp and bring out hotter textures and harmonics with a bit of crunch. Those pedals don't clip as hard or with the same bite as most "distortion" pedals. You'd be pretty disappointed with a lot of overdrive pedals if you bought them thinking they were going to produce thick high-gain distortion!
@orsvend It seems to me that, as far as pedals go, overdrive emulates an amp with a clean preamp tone cranked to breakup in the power tube section (vintage-ish like a Fender Champ) and distortion emulates a cascading gain tube preamp into a clean power section (modern-ish like a Mesa Dual Rec.). I could be wrong but that seems to be the general sounds of each.
Well this is not a metal pedal, but i do understand what you mean. I use a tiny terror myself, and no distortion pedal i have can come near the tone of the amp itself. But the best result i have had yet is Mad Professor's Fire Red Fuzz, it sounds VERY similar to the amp (using the pedal only when the amp is set to clean tones) but with some fuzz at the top and I like it alot, best investment i have made.
This pedal (sky blue overdrive) should actually be alot more transparent, so give it a shot
I own four MP pedals (Forest Green, Deep Blue, Mighty Red and Little Green) and I must say that they're all worth their price. Played the Tiny Orange Phaser and Autowah here couple of days ago and they were excellent as well. I'm getting them in a few weeks when I've got the money.. You won't regret if you purchase MP pedals!
Echoes is my favourite song. 23 minutes and 28 seconds of pure ingeniousnessnessness. 'Nuff of that though, this pedal sounds quite cool. (On your homepage!)
What's the song begining at 2:04, please? :)

why not look at a distoriton pedal instead of a overdrive pedal?

distortion and overdrive are the same thing, think you mean a fuzz pedal...

You could stack overdrive pedals to get a thicker gain sound.

Correct me if im wrong, but overdrive = pushes the amp further, distortion = applies its own overdriven sound

@louisalive Yeah, right. That's like saying a slap and a punch are the same thing...

Test some different overdrive pedals. A distortion pedal might color your sound so much that the character of yout amp will get lost.
