  • This sounds cool too. Are there any electronica related styles on the BK7M?

  • Nicely down ... Ignorant Question for U:

Is it a stand alone unit .. in other words .. does it play by itself without having to be connected to keys or such?

  • @Odiculeoj Hmmm... it needs a midi controller connected for you to play the sounds, but it is capable of playing back midi files and audio files directly from a usb memory stick with no midi device attached.

  • @Sweentech1 OH no ... mine will be here tomorrow & I was hoping that I could just plug it straight into my Bose & start working with it by itself (I'm a guitarist ... lol)

  • @Odiculeoj You could use a guitar midi interface such as the Roland GK systems. The new GR55 is really cool. It will allow you to control the BK7m.

  • @Sweentech1 Really ... well I do have a GR-55. Uhmmm... I do a solo gig where I play along with BTs, however I usually don't bring my guitar synth to 'em (you can see how I do it in my youtubes if curious ...)

  • how much does this module cost? and can it be used with a midi keyboard as a sampler??

    thanks..!!!!

  • @9322002898 It costs £765.00, but it's not a sampler. It can record and play back audio though in one stereo file at a time.

  • Very nice video! I wander if BK-7m has a sequencer or only preset arrangement?

  • @tenellifranco The only ways to sequence is to use the audio recorder which is onboard. You could overdub as many times as you like. Or use the supplied Sonar Le software on a PC.

  • @Sweentech1 thankx:)

  • @Sweentech1 thankx:)

  • Hey, it sound's very well!!!

What kind of performance (rythm familiy) of BK-7m did you use for this - ONLY GIRL?

  • @christian8linder The rhythm is called DJ Techno. Thank you for your comments!

  • Super bravo et merci!

  • Cool. Thanks very much for the reply. I like the look of it as it's much lighter than my current setup (a Korg PA50). Other than the weight, the Korg is pretty good, although programming it can be a bit fiddly I find.

  • What controller keyboard would you recommend to pair with this module? I've been looking at the Cakewalk A-8000 as it uses the same keyboard action as the Roland Junos and is pretty light to carry around to gigs.

  • @martinmusicman1 Yes the A800-Pro is a great choice because it has aftertouch too

  • @martinmusicman1 Thats me now also purchased a Roland A800-Pro. It's ideal! I have made a control map to allow the first 20 performances in any performance list to be recalled from buttons on the A800-Pro. Just shout if you want a copy.

  • @Sweentech1 Awesome. If you've got any videos of it working with the BK7 that would be great. Thanks for the offer of the mappings also - will let you know if I get the keyboard.

  • @Sweentech1 I would be very interested in that control map. How can I get it?

  • @Sweentech1 How can I get a copy of that control map? I'd love to get one.

  • Is it possible to rip styles from Roland BK7 modul, to use then in other Roland keyboards?

  • Best demo of BK-7m, u basically sold it to me:) how did I attach it to the rack? Does it come with some sort of holder?

  • @bratan007 thanks for your kindness. I have attached it by laying it on the arms of my stand. I am also thinking though of purchasing a Roland APC33 clamp to attach it with. Roland also make a PDS10 stand for it.

If you would like my registrations for this song, please send me your email address, and post a request here. I will then send the registrations to you.

  • ....continued from my last reply....

The BK-7m will also use pianist mode for chord recgnition from both hands.

Although I normally play 3-5 finger chords with the left hand, on this occassion I used single notes and two finger chords. This was necessary to achieve the correct pitch for the trancy pad sound I am playing in the left hand in addition to the style. This creates the countermelody. It's quite easy in the end, but the timing is complicated!

  • Thanks Halunlimited. I typed this out before but noticed a number of spelling mistakes so here goes again! I really appreciate your kind comments.

    To answer your questions:

    1) I am using a standard style throughout called Dj Techno. At times I have some of the voices in the style muted, but otherwise it is s stock style straight from the instrument.

    2) Yes, the BK-7m, will recognise a number of different fingering modes including single fingered chords and two finger chords.

  • @Sweentech1 Thanks much. That answers my questions well.

  • Real nice playing and demo. 1) Were all the beats standard presets and just switched or did you sequence any of the beats beforehand into the BK? 2) also, does the BK recognize 1 finger and 2 finger chords on the left hand or is there a 3 finger minimum? Thanks much. Hope you'll post more.

  • Thanks for all the nice replies. I will try to get some more videos done for you in due course. At the moment, I have a big event coming up this weekend, so maybe at some point next week, I'll manage a few!

  • Fantastic sound! Beautifully demonstrated. Looking forward to hearing this "in the flesh". Roland have come up trumps (again). :-)

  • Very well played. And great sounds.

  • Great performance. Is the first time I saw a real demo of this module on you tube. I hope you soon show more capabilities of BK-7m. Yours skills not need to be proof.

    Thank you.

    Artureko from Portugal.
