Hello there.

Are we allowed to edit the film in video edit programs, using colour correction, effects etc? or does the film have to be shot solely just with the cam? also the guidelines say a still photography camera must only be used, does this rule out small hdd handycams that are capable of film and photography? thank you.

@emendymedia hi, yes you can use video edit software like Final Cut. And yes the film must be shot using a digital stills camera's movie function or the movie function of a DSLR.

Does the film have to show some form of taking a shot, or is the title of the film for the purpose of the competition? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question.

@nishhill hi there, yes the title The Shot must in some way relate to the film... but how you use that title is up to you. For example... it could be about a boxer who has a shot at the title!

hah! this is amazing, Pity I can't do this. Reality. It's my dream to be involved with the movie/theatre industry. For now I just edit videos and post them online. In short future am planing to go to Guildhall school in London, and do my best to get into the acting. It seems impassible but you gotta hold to your dreams no matter what, I guess...

When you say "nothing but a DSLR" does that mean you have to record sound in camera without using an external sound recording unit. If you have to record sound in camera can you use a video mic or are we talking "you can only record video and sound via the built in functions inside of the camera." If that makes sense?

Also after reading the rules, it's still not really clear to me: can the story be about anything, as long as the camera appears in it as well? And how how many people are allowed to work on the film? Great competition btw :)

@vledder2000 the story can be about anything you like as long as it relates to the title, which must be called 'The Shot', what you do with that title is up to you. Any number of people can work on the film, but ultimately the Director will be the one winning the prize.
