@wtfimon RX7 is a beast and still costs more than a used MX-5 does-- seriously; $20,000 USD for a used decent RX7 and $13,000 USD for a used decent MX5

rx8 handling is better than miatas little bit ofcourse rx8 feel more comfortable & smooth ride couse of rotary engine . i have both but never expect rx8 beat cars like 2010 vette & gt-r car that cost 50,000 more than 8. CAR & DRIVER 2009 compare looking the best handling car under 100,000 & the only two cars beat rx8 were porsche & lotus . the suspension of the new mx5 is too soft and the car has to much roll...some good coilovers or more weight rate springs with adj struts will give this 50/50 balanced car more drifting abilities.

@insonita55 Soft no more! It was the first NC in 06 and some 07 this is the most important car Mazda makes so any imperfections are corrected immediately. It also depends on the trim level and packages you choose. Still a quick solution to the soft suspension on the early NC was the RX8 Suspension components, like shocks, springs and sway bars the RX8 and NC Miata share their platforms so anything RX8 fits well. The NC2 make that 09 and present are the most well put together Miatas ever.

Drifting well is difficult, and yes there have been criticisms about the suspension setup (mostly shock valving) on the NC MX--5. But the 2010 is supposed to be better. Either way I'd put on a set of good adjustable coilovers and bring out the true abilities of that super stiff chassis.

Why do peeps always try to testdrive a Miata on a track or show the performance? It's a unique car that doesn't need to be pushed to enjoy! Take it on a winding coastal road like 101 and just have fun. You don't need to be reckless or go too fast. It's an easy Sunday morning drive car! Why push it and break something?
