  • i played pilate... :')

  • 4 fuck sake what have u done to this movie

  • Oh my god we are doing a review over this, Evita, and Cats for my theater intro class...this one isn't about the politics or religious views...dumb movie ever

  • love love love this movie!!! Thanks!!!

  • This movie is largely the reason I love Jesus....I always see Him as Ted Neely....or rather, Ted Neely as Him!

  • What the hell are these demons doing

  • I'M BACK!!! Penitence should be watching the awful 2000 version! No passion, no skill, no love, no understanding of the source...except for the beautiful rendition of 'everything is alright' with a drill to the ear interruption by an English pubertal Judas.... Fuck them! And this is indecently good ... the voices alone send you into seizures...lol

  • Who knew bible stories could be the background to such amazing rock n roll musicals? Andrew Lloyd Webber did apparently.

  • Best overture ever.

  • Greatttttttt music!!!!

  • Carl Anderson, what can I say! He has a great voice and played the part of Judas to the hilt. You Rock Carl. Ted Neely is so handsome. He was the right choice for the part in this movie. He also has a beautiful voice, very captivating. Great music, and talented actors and actresses. The cast directors made the right choice:) There will never be another Jesus Classic as this !!!!

  • The actor who plays Judas has a great singing voice

  • Man if that first guitar riff doesn't get the hair on the back of your neck to stand up you best get to a doctor to have your pulse checked...

  • Im 12 and watching this, i never been to a church or read the bible. Yet I still got everything, either happy or heartbreaking. This is movie is one of my favorites now :)

  • My mum showed me this movie when I was a kid.

I didn't appreciate it because I didn't get what a bunch of hippies singing about Jesus and when Judas runs away from a tank had to do with Jesus.

    Now I love it.

  • Love this movie.

I was in a theatre production of it in New Hampshire back in 1977.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • man, can carl anderson scream- sing!

if you ain't know whats scream-sing, search on youtube "gothic lolita emilie autumn."!

  • R.I.P. Carl Anderson (1945-2004) The Best Judas Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ahhh I loved this movie! i was in the play in highschool. Judas represent <3

  • Just wanted to say, thanks for (besides uploading this fabulous movie) keeping the sound on time.

  • being an absoloute athiest, and yet this one of my all time fav films

  • My friend commanded me to watch this. After she said Judas is black, I agreed :D

  • dance with the wolves is such a good movie!

    thesame for this one...

  • What is the name of the first song?

  • @lubsosak Heaven on their minds

  • @lubsosak There is "no"name to this song - it's an Overture of all the dif songs in the movie :)

  • Ten times better than Glee, and they don't even need AutoTune!

  • @BecomeMyNewCat it doesn't view Jesus negatively it just views him through Judas' eyes who saw him as a man not the savior.

  • I saw this show in theatre in the 70s, it was so popular that the threatre full house

I show and the song is amazing

  • @BecomeMyNewCat It's definitely one of the more -unique- portrayals of Christ, but negative? Ha, you could do a hell of a lot worse than this for negative movies about Christ.

  • Carl Anderson!

  • (judas) is the best singer in this movie

  • First time watching this.. that kid can sing! I'm gonna continue to watch ;)

  • Perhaps the most humanistic religiously affiliated presentation of all time.

The unprecedented non-traditional depictions of the bible characters remain unparalleled.

  • @03030303 I have no idea what you just said but I agree with you anyway! XD

  • Thank you so much whoever posted this!! i grew up listening to this i knew every word by the time i was 10!

  • Thank you for posting this! I always knew the gospels would be great material for a screen play!

The best thing about this musical is that it shows who the fictional character Jesus truly was - just a man.

Much like Gandhi, his message is one of national identity and non-violent resistance to occupation.

  • i am Christian(feel quite strongly about it)and even i say this is awesome!Y people say that it is offensive is beyond me.

  • You are totally awesome for putting this up, and right at the time I had the craving to see it. :D

  • WHOO! I remember watching this as a kid (now I'm like, YOU LET ME WATCH THIS?? to my parents) and Its so nostalgic.

  • @kaggy05 RIGHT! i was thinking the same thing!

  • Thanks for uploading this. I love the music and am looking forward to seeing the film.
