  • You get paid for doing the Co-op?!?! i thought it just counted towards credits.

  • My question is after u r do ur co op, what courses do u need for university, also wat other trainings do u have to do to get and serve canada full time???, I don't knw the way to get in army

  • Lets do this!

  • they don't understand the co-op thing is a joke lol its not real BMQ and SQ is reg forces lol ive done both im in the Canadian forces as a armored crewman royal Canadian dragoons recon and surveillance there is no such thing as a co-op program for the Canadian forces if your looking for something on the lines as part time for one day a week and one weekend a month go talk to a recruiter near u in a reserve detachment. that will be all XD.

  • @CanadianTankerMan I'm in the dragoons, i feel that the Co-op program gives people who are planning to enlist into the reg's a good idea of what there getting them selves into. It's not meant to be completely serious.

  • I'm thinking about joining this program. Staying with the reserves through university until I receive my degree, then transfer to the main force through the Direct Entry Officer Plan.

Aside from that, how do you get in contact with a recruiter? Can you email them?

  • @PBVG101

    Yeah email.

  • Enjoy your summer job you fucking shad! You are the exact type we hate. It's not a job, it's a career serving our country.

  • hey bro how long is the application

  • @MyLeft4dead

Well "bro" if you mean how long the application process takes from submitting an application to being offered the job, then it all depends. My medical took around 7 months to clear... so it took me over a year to get in, that being said, I have heard of people getting through the process in 3 weeks.

  • @JoshTheDrummer69

ari man also can you do army coop or join the army if you have eplepsy. if i get my specalist doctors clearnce and also my MRI and EEG copy just wondering if you anything about that .

  • @MyLeft4dead

I have no idea. What I can tell you forsure is you should apply asap, because your process could take a long time depending if you need to get notes from doctors and what not.. talk to a recruiter, tell him what you want (co-op) and tell him your circumstances, im sure he/she can give you an answer.

  • @JoshTheDrummer69

ari man i am going to do that but i applied this year but i dont think i ma het in this year so i ma come back next year to do army coop so i could join the mililatary easyer lol XD

  • @MyLeft4dead

Just make sure before you get in and start basic training you get in good shape, by that I don't mean muscular, what I mean is you can run for a long distance, and your good with push ups and abs.

  • @JoshTheDrummer69

ari man just wonering how many push ups should i be doing like 40 reps. also how much should i run. like a 3 k every day or week to prepare 4 the army coop.

  • @MyLeft4dead

if you can do 40 push ups your good, and build up to 10 k with running slow pace

  • @JoshTheDrummer69

ari man thx 4 helping meout i ma start doing 40 push ups with out stopping and star running 3-5 k for starting and slowly moving up

  • I'm curious. Do you take your equipment (kit, ruck sack, service rifle, uniform etc.) home with you? I'm wondering especially about the service rifle.

  • @MrGamertag1500 are you crazy?

  • @PBVG101

um... no, i think im sane, and i talked to a recruiter and he said you did get to keep certain equipment, but not the service rifle, so thanks for your help douchebag

  • @MrGamertag1500

You take all of your kit home, but not the rifle or any weapon. The weapons are kept in a vault.

  • I thought you did it during the semester

  • i'm really considering applying for this but i'm worried that i won't be physically fit enough or get hurt(getting shot)

  • I've applied for co-op program, hand in my paper work, and now just waiting for that magical phone call! :-)

  • One thing i hate is when people say there going to join the army just to try and act cool or make themselves look strong to there friends and crap, The army isnt a fucking joke

  • I want to just join the army co-op to get the experience because my future career is ETF Officer for Canada. Am I allowed to just go to the co-op and then once graduated get my 4 credits and leave? I love the Army don't get me wrong it's just that I don't want it as a career but as an experience.

  • @monocoroptor well Alpha sqaudron is auroura its already started we only toke like 9 kids this year its pretty bad

  • Comment removed

  • wait if i join the army co-op program.

    1. how long do I have to stay there for?

2.what happens after I grad. do i just leave..?

3.do I have to go over seas, its the co-op program like the reserves?

    ~thanks : )

  • @44JOSH055

Ask a recruiter, Ask a recruiter, Ask a recruiter.

My advice is if your not going to stay in, then don't waste tax payer dollars the leave the opportunity for someone else who will actually serve.

  • @44JOSH055

    Lol.

  • Damn your trolling lol.

  • @44JOSH055 for the rest of the semester unless you drop co-op, well your actually in the regiment. So after co-op grad if you want to stay you finish you BMQ. otherwise you sign your papers to leave the Forces. The co-op program is the reserves. But if your not going to stay don't bother, not only is it wasting regimetal money(used to train you) it takes a spot from someone who wants to stay, or be in the program. but it is highly competitive.

  • Great vid, hoping to do this next year.. Since they changed the application from 16 years old to 17 :/ .... Btw, whats the second song called, that starts at the credits? :)

  • I'm doing this next year in gr.11. Already have my forms in and application filled out... the armory I'm doing it at is a 3 minute walk away from my house :)

  • I take it most of this video is all SQ - or BMQ-Land now?

  • is there any prerequisites to doing this?

  • Is this whole day r half day?....i want to do it..

  • Cameras ruined the CF

  • Is it an overnight thing? or do I have to drive to burlington, or wherever it is everyday?

  • Comment removed

  • do you get dog tags when you do the co-op?

  • @blaablaa30

why do you can wear them around feeling badass?

  • do you get dog tags when you do the co-op?

  • Hey what Unit did you guys do the Co-op in ? At my school we are doing it with Grey And Simcoe foresters.

  • @nakedbarbies thanks man

  • What's the light infantry standard issue side arm

    Just curious, thanks.

  • If I take CO op do I have to go to war after the training

  • @krishkid nope

  • Just finished the BMQ and SQ, which was so fun! Now for the completion of training to be a Trained Private! I love the Hasty P's.

  • I just handed my application in for the co op for second semester next year. I believe the co op is from 12 - 5 every weekday.

Do you train in BMQ to use light machine guns and grenades? I thought you were only trained with c7 rifles during BMQ ?

  • @JoshTheDrummer69 The BMQ portion of training is the theory portion of training and C7 training. That would consist of Drill movements Stoppage drills and all the Marksmen stuff. The last days of your BMQ would actually be firing them along with the gashuts. The SQ portion of training (Now BMQ-Land) is soldiering skills. This training is mostly field work and stuff you would learn in the classroom to use in the field. The weapons you train on and fire are the C9 LMG, C6 MMG, and 2 Hand grenades

  • Do you have to do BMQ for this course. If so do you go to Quebec for or is their somewhere else you can do it near your city.

  • Well this look's very interesting, just wondering it's still 16 for this program correct?

  • YAAAAAAYYYYY FOR HASTY PEES BEST GOD DAMN UNIT IN HOLE CF .......WELL WAS IN 02 TO 06, LOL HOLLY CRAP THAT WAS A BIG COURSE, love how every reservist is impressed with tracked vehicles lol m113 recovery vehicle

  • anyone who isn't white planning to go for army co-op?

  • @ItzLiberty yup

  • @ItzLiberty - ye im doing it next semester well still gotta hand forms in and im trini :)

  • @trinicoolie101 hopefully will see you there best of luck

  • i just got back form a week up in meaford where was your field training done ?

  • I want to take co-op.

If I take co-op do I have to join the forces? and do I have to go over the summer?

I just want to take co-op over the school semester, then after that, leave, and putting it bluntly "Leave and never come back" have no interactions with the forces from that point.

    Is that allowed?

  • Its allowed, but you'd be wasting tax payers money and wasting an opportunity for someone who would stay in and serve his country.

  • @screwball000

    Awesome, thanks!

  • @screwball000 hey man im really interested in taking this program i have applied in al but im 15...ill be 16 in december...the program starts by the time i turn 16....but i wont get accepted will I :'(

    my b-day sux

  • @Northernsharpshooter the program starts in February over here. & the funny thing is that i have the same birthday as you :P December 12. As long as you turn 16 by the time the program starts than your good

  • @barabile really? cool thanks....my stupid co-op teacher said i couldn't do it because grade 11's weren't aloud...so idk maybe ill talk to my local recruiter or ill just join the reserves...damn rules

  • @screwball000 kk for this is the entry the same if you are going to actually join like 19 push ups 19 sit ups step test jsut wondering can you msg me with what you did to get in and just the stuff you did to get in interested to do this for next year co-op

  • @ostapslobodian if you do the coop they want you to enlist to reg force when older, thats why its hard to get into, it went from like 400 people to 81 cause of this atleast thats what i was told, and iv also been told that coop has been cancelled for the year 2011 for come citys

  • @ostapslobodian Don't waste money like that man

  • what is a co-op program???

  • CO-op program means you work for the Military as your co-op program for highschool, for highschool credits. O believe you get 6 credits, its an all day every day school day thing for 1 semester. and you get paid as well I believe, although you are expected to complete summer training as well.

  • Cooperative Education.

  • Hey I'm wondering about the summer job , do you go away and live at a base for a few weaks or is it in your city ?? Thanks

  • At the end of the semster, you are given the option to either leave the program or stay with the regiment as a PRes soldier. In the latter you go away for the summer on course.

  • I just put in my basic Co-op application with the school but was wondering when and to who I have to hand in the rest of the paperwork, applications, etc..

  • Recruiter.

  • @screwball000 I sooo badly want in this, my dream is to be apart of the Canadian Forces, and if i ge tin I can quit my shitty job :( but aparantly it is really hard to get in due to so many people applying :(

  • I did mine in pembroke and we did our field training at CFB Petawawa.

  • Just got in and Hasty p"s 1 sect is freaking amazing!

  • Is this during a semester during school or is this during the summer. If it is during school do you sleep at the garrisons???

  • During school.

    For the most part- no.

  • Nice to see the Hasty P's in action. Miss those days. Ortona Coy Hast & PER

  • My co-op was full day military training. There were no period for math or PT, we did just a normal basic training course and were awarded four co-op credits for it. We slept at garrison, had 18 hour days, woke up at 5:00am for PT and didn't stop until 11:00 pm. We got to home on weekends though :) My favourite day had to be the C9/C6 range day by far.

  • @BrandonEclipse

thanks man i am training by running everyday but weekends and am slowly starting to workout every other day.

  • can someone answer my question please:

what can i do to help get better chances at getting accepted into the program also what are the requirments?

  • You must be at least in grade 10 and will have to pass an aptitude test (which is easy for most), a fitness test and an interview. All I can say is, get as fit as you can. The army does get you in good shape, but god I wish I had gone running more before I started my course. Mostly work on cardio and leg strength (leg strength will be needed for long ruck sack marches). I hope this helps, it's an experience of a lifetime.

  • any girls with experience that have done this?

  • I myself am not a girl but we did have one girl in our course. She held her own just fine. If you're worried about feeling like the odd one out since there will be mostly guys, don't. She felt the same way at the beginning and after the first week she was "one of the guys".

  • @Kaylawrites theres on girl in my co op program but im sure she wont have problems as long as you stay commited and strong

  • Its more than 42 a day, its 5,000 for the semester and you get payed bi-weekly so prob around a 500-600 dollar paycheck bi-weekly because training is 3 days a week. I'm down in Toronto in a week or so.

  • oh shit, i was going to do this next semester but only thought id make max a grand but holly shit to do something i one day want to make full time and learn such usefull things as well as get paid....oh and the credits for school where can you go wrong?

  • i just started this yesterdayy. its army in morning then lunch then math and PT.. everything is done at the armouries. its a lot of fun.. yeye!

  • 2 cred co-op?

  • yea 2 credits for army. plus if u do math its another credit and u do PT which is a gym credit so in total 4.

  • Why didn't you take 4 cred?

  • @serclfs i did. lol u have to do PT and math is optional but highly recommended. so im getting 4 creds

  • Eh, hows PT going so far? I know I stopped working out after I passed the physical, I'm probably gonna get the shit whipped outta me when I start.

  • @serclfs lol u should keep woring out man.. i stopped too. PT more hard but u everyone can do it. in the sencond week he have to do the physcial requirments again

  • Lol, go running every second day or so, trust me. I was lazy and decided not to work out so much before I started my course and god was I pissed at myself.

  • To late now :( I got sworn in last Tuesday and now I start this Tuesday Y_Y

  • is this by any chance coltan dimmas account cause the picture at 0:22 was definitely his profile pic on facebook for a while ?

  • I will do this.

  • Can someone help me settle a very annoying dispute? My annoying, cocky, fucker friend thinks that you dun get paid for co op. However, I think you do. The comments and the description of this video are even proof of that. Does the payment for taking the course depend on the school board OR the school that is offering the program?

  • im staring this program in a week and to the best of my knowledge you get paid from the actual canadian forces. you get 4 credits for only 2 periods tho from the school. and i believe its 42 dollars a day

  • thanks man

  • @BonhommeHero no its the army that pays you so it shouldbe all the same and yes you do get payed you have to make a chequing account in order to start so what would that mean lol

  • right now im in grade 10, i know that im going to pass all my classes next semester, so i will be able to do this in the summer, but when should i join, cause my provincials dont end till june 28, so should i join then, when ive officialy passed grade 10, or should i put in my application at the start of june b/c it might need to get looked at and everything, ive checked the forces web site and it doesnt say

  • good question lol

  • @jungleprimitive if you want ot do the military co op depending where you are you have too do it second semester anyways

  • wht tune is this??

  • 3 Section Fag. Baha, 2 Section All the Way.

  • im starting this in February..im so pumped yeye!

  • where did you guys do this? i was thinking about doing the exact same coop

  • How old do you have to be?

  • whts the first song called??

  • do you get paid for the army co-op and if so how much

  • @blusoldier1234 yes you get paid, and you get paid the same as a regular reservist so check the CF website pay scale for PTE(R) i belive its around 92$ daily? and when your in the feild i think its an extra 17 a day? but i dont remember

  • It IS roughly 42 dollars/day for infantry at least, and 84 or something per day. I made roughly 3 grand.

  • @fetalembryo pay scale for reserves is 83$ a day for basic

  • holy crap are you serious co-op in the army? I'm so gonna take that...

I would appreciate it if you could tell me how was it though =)

    thx

  • Co-op is the way to go. Trust me, I finished it in June and Did my EME Common in the Summer. It's not that it is easier, it is that you get the extra Credits. :)

  • Its easier.

Easy to Hard list of Reserve BMQ's

    - Co-Op

    - Weekends

    - Full Training

    ~Thanato

  • thats really cool how you have a video to show people what the co-op involves. I am in the middle of my co-op course and i love it i just passed my BMQ and starting my SQ (Basic Land) as its known now but its an amazing choice for anyone to take it you meet great people that become like brothers/sisters to you.

  • No coop program is throughout Canada, depending where you live and the school program, you can earn up to 30 credits sometimes. Plus the training seams to go by faster compared to other training like the weekend program.

  • yo is this lie a high school co-op???? and if so are they talking bout 4 high school credits???

  • ya and a english credit depending on school board

  • yea bro you get 4 credits and cash im doign it next semester

  • thank you brother ziegelbauer long live general woody lol

  • i think its only for around toronto because the sheets they gave me say that this is fairly new

  • Is this available all over Canada, like Say maybe SK ?

  • Most likely, talk to your local recruiter to see if there are any nearby units offering the program.

  • First off its ``Chimo!`` as a combat engineer. Secondly, consult your recruiter, they usually have a practice test. I`m not allowed to talk about testing.

  • School year.

  • hey i got a question im doing the same program right now i signed off at 32nd brigade last night at the info night and im gunna be a combat engineer. i wanna know tho is the physcal and CFAT test as hard i just did 20 push ups and 20 situps and the 2km running to practice. but is the writing test really hard. i donno help me out with some info thanks! WHOOORAWR!!!!

  • Rlly?! Whens ur testing date? Hopefully I get to engy alongside u :P.

On the other note, They said that you should have good english vocab, cause some of the words are grade 10 academic level like succient and others to tht knowledge. The math which im afraid of is ur ordinary long division and multiplcation. Sad thing is if u fail, u fail. Since u cant wait 3 months. I wish u all the luck tho man and hope u get in. Be looking forward to it!!!

  • well i failed my test i did poorly on the vocab and math the math was not long division it was factions and all things crazy shit they told me that university students have failed the same test im sooo pissed off... i have to rewrite in janurary.

  • lol i was there to i think i sined for the artilery but yea its 2.4k in under 12 min

if u find out about the test can u message me

  • 2.4k is almost 2 miles. The American para course has 2 mile run in 14 minutes. Theres no way in hell a recruitment PT test would be that vigorous for the Reserves.

  • well since thats what they told us we gota do i think i am gona take there advise againsed yours

  • True say, but I've never heard of recruiting standards that high. Unless they finally raised them, thank god, no more fat fucks who can't do PT or hump their own shit.

  • I live in Ottawa and WOULD LOVE to do this a few questions so you get paid every day your there. Does this count as community hours and does it matter were you live to join?? Thank you

  • you do get paid. about 48$ for a half day (normal day) and double for a full day and more when ur in the field. and no it doesnt count for ur hours. the overall co op is kinda gay though cuz u dont get the full experience because you get off at 2pm. u can do a summer course in meaford where you live there and they controle you..none of this 2pm bullshit lol

  • Not my co-op, mine was a full day. I only had weekends off, we didn't stop until lights out which was usually around 10:30 to 11:00, and then we were back at it at 5:00am. Did you not have to sleep in garrison?

  • Since when the fuck do pte. basic 's get fucking 48/day. I got like 42 bahaha.

  • The standard is a Beep Test or Step Test. However if they wanted they can make you run the 2.4 K in less then 12min as that is part of the CF Express Test.

    ~Thanato

  • hey bro do they force you to join the army after you complete the summer job??

  • Once you do the summer job, you are usually completely training in your trade, you`d be stupid to stop there. That`d be like training for a football team and never getting to play.

  • by the end of gr 10 i should have 39 credits, can i do the basic training this summer or do i have to wait untill next summer, and is this avaiable for all gr 11 students regardless?

  • I would ask that you direct your initial inquiry's to your local Canadian forces recruiter, thanks and good luck!

  • If you want to be there, and you want to do the job, you can do it. Its challenging but not impossible.

  • ive done this program and its very good and i recomend it...just make sure u have a slack morning cause you are to tired to do work at the end of the day.but

WHAT SONG IS THIS???? I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW

  • Can i ask what you did for the fitness test before being allowed in? I want to do it for next semester and the forms are due in 3 weeks :O

  • So I'm planning on taking it next semester. I was told that I will be getting 80 dollars per day. How many days did you work? Also how much was your pay for during those days? Do we get to stay over at a camp for 13 weeks or do we come home on weekends? Thanks for your answers, much will be appreciated.

  • As a private on that course, youl make between 40 and 50 dollars a day, because every day of work on course is a half day. The coop course will most likely be run at your local regiment and no you wont be gone for a full 13 weeks but you will leave for certain weekends, and week long exercises, where you will make between 80 and 90 bucks a day, thats how my course was run anyway, it all depends on how your staff runs the course.

  • Yes, they are moderate in difficulty, for me when I joined anyways, but you can never be to fit for the job. Fitness is a key element in being a successful infantry soldier. Be prepared to do a lot of weight/ load bearing task and long distance running in rough terrain. Consult a recruiter for the best possible way to get a head start in fitness for you basic to make it that much easier.

  • Actually that is not PO Robinson, I ASSURE YOU. But do not get on his bad side none the less.

    :(

  • I'm in grade 10 lookin into this, a good chunk of change? and its the afternoon? thats not bad...PLUS im a rower, so i'd have the physical requirements, and since its not in the morning i'd get to continue my favourite sport :D, but i'm curious as to the living at the base and going somewhere all summer thing, I would LIVE at the base during the school week?and for the summer would it be during the week and come home weekends or a straight summer

  • Thanks for the interest. You stay at home, do your first 2 periods, then go to coop at lunch with most units who offer it. When you complete your BMQ and SQ, you are offered a spot on a summer Infantry course to become an infantry soldier. You do work the occasional week ends but thats where the real fun happens ;).

  • and i heard you get paid, do you know around how much? like i'm most likely going to do it next year regardless, but what are summer and co-op separate fares?

  • This is a great video good job! I am in grade 10 and im thinking of doing the army co-op would you recomend it?

  • just do it with the reserves... pay is better and you get to do a lot more...

  • true, and the best thing of all is that its part time, so you can still go to school!

  • Actually pay is not better, reservist are paid 15% less than regular force personnel unless your on a full time contract working with them.

  • pay is better compared to army co-op though

  • Oh, and you have to live at the base during the week.
