So this is basically like "He-Man and the 7 dwarfs, from the studio that brought you Johnny Quest, battling against Galactus Jr. and a sorceress that looks like she stuck her arm in a vat of boiling goblin."
Sounds like fun to me... (and yes I know this came out before He-Man)
This was a great cartoon but it got the typical treatment of the day: They create an awesome show but only make 13 episodes. Same with only a couple of seasons of "Thundaar the Barbarian". But the Smurfs? We get 8 fucking seasons of that travesty. And don't try to tell me "But the Smurfs were awesome!". No, the Smurfs sucked ass no matter which way you looked at it!
The stock footage they use in this series is also too obvious. They use the same character models and animations over and over.. It's worse than He-man.. ( wich came shortly after this )
Yeah,.. Filmation studio was good at re-using animatons.. :P But it was the pre-computer era. It's hard to produce weekly episodes if everything is hand-drawn. Even so,.. I really liked the atmosphere of Blackstar,.. and still do. :-)
Any idea where I could find the sound of the starsword? :) Thanks! (This cartoon rocks!)

Mara's still looks hot for a woman centuries old!
One of my favorite cartoons as a kid.
Wish they made more episodes.

You don't need an ancient universe accessible only by a black hole for a story like that! I can't believe some people actually watched this sh*t!

@guyonfire87
they were probably running on a tight budget and needed to make the film with as few frames as possible
