I'm fairly sure this is trying to explain Noodle's past. Gorillaz is more than just an animated band, because the members have stories behind them. The first time Noodle was associated with the band, it was when Murdoc found her in a FedEx crate on his doorstep after they put an ad out, looking for a new member. Noodle was a part of a secret government project, and Noodle was training specifically as a musician. Out of the group that went into that agency, Noodle was the only one to survive.
@saacsa1120 Murdoc later reveals he plotted this out. He hired someone who was previously denied entry into the band (and held a huge grudge against the Gorillaz) to stay aboard the windmill and shoot Noodle and then gave him a parachute to jump out.
However Murdoc locked him in the upper part of the Windmill and left the parachute for Noodle.
This way he saved Noodle and killed one of their nemesis at the same time

i saw this when i was 10 and now im fifteen and i had been searching for this all the while. a friend showed me the gorillaz and i recognized noodle and found this video by playing the gorlliaz game and shouted YES in extreme hapiness when i found this. i love this song

I would have found it hard to recover from this...except for the Rhinestone Eyes storyboard and the Melancholy Hill video. But still...this is a symbol for the death of innocence and freedom in this world. No matter what you do to escape the world's evils, they will always find you. She didn't ran away, she was at the floating island in El Mañana (It also appears in Feel Good Inc., as we all know) and she was attacked by two armed helicopters, but I think it is unknown why. She is attacked again in Melancholly Hill and she manages to kill one of the attackers, but she didn't have time to kill the second one, sho he dropped a bomb that made the ship sink, forcing Noodle to swim to the little floating boat.
THe only thing that I don't understand is who the hell is the guy with the mask (The one in 2-D's Ident, taking the cop away in Stylo and scratching the manati in Melancholly hill), he is really strange. There's a video with the official storyline board for Rhinestones eyes and it seems to explain a little but I couldn't understand it at all.
From what I heard, the masked man is, as Murdoc claims, the 'Boogie man'. Apparently after Murdoc's soul for some reasons unknown... Maybe the devil is involved somehow because Murdoc had dealings with the devil years back.

Noodle basically found happiness outside of the whole "Feel Good Inc." industry and they came to stop her. But it turns out she just staged her death, and actually traveled to Japan to learn of her origin.

Noodle ain't dead it's been planned with murdoc as I think the boogeyman seeks revenge by killing the member of the gorillaz, so murdoc fakes noodles death to everyone so there won't b anymore trouble, noodle escaped with a parasuit and got away safely. And murdoc went bk to collect noodles DNA and that's wen he used it to create cyborg noodle as a replacement and u see her in stylo but she breaks and in rhinestone eyes the real noodle is saved by big Russell and cyborg noodle and real noodle m

@aunit619 I think that the helicopters came to take her out because she was different, and they had to remove her from the heaven she found herself in. Noodle basically found happiness outside of the whole "Feel Good Inc." industry and they came to stop her. But it turns out she just staged her death, and actually traveled to Japan to learn of her origin.
The closest thing we have of a link to the storyline is the Journey to Plastic beach vid at Gorillaz.com. Go there.
