  • Since this is a raw cake, could one add male ejaculate to it to give it a creamier taste?

I would need about a dozen handsome men for this.

    The Sound Quality is Atrocious!

  • I made this and its SOOOOO good! It is very rich, so I topped it off with a tablespoon of raspberry sauce on top just before eating! But I'd definitely recommend it! YUMMY!

  • I just made this without a food processor! Took a couple of hours, haha Delicious though, well worth the effort. Thankyou Ani! Am excited to be at the beginning of my raw journey.

  • Now, Can't wait to try this one. I read some of the responses. Some people are so uptight! Lighten up people! I

  • @Gracelovefaith1 I meant WOW! . . lol

  • It's ABSOLUTELY amazing!!! I don't react well to rasberries, so I made the same thing with ripe organic bananas instead, it was dropdead gorgious, and ALL my non raw food friends now want the recipe :)))) I think I have already repostet this 20 times ;))) Love you, Anny!!

  • High fat *will* slow glycemic response, but this recipe will not! Because dates are over 100 on the glycemic index (white bread=100) and should not be consumed by individuals with blood-glucose response problems. They shouldn't eat anything over 70, and, perhaps not that high on the GI. Certainly the GL (glycemic load) is also of concern here.

  • Wonderful recipe, but you really shouldn't say it is sugar-free because it is high in sugar. The dates are extremely high in sugar (fructose) which is why dates are high glycemic. Same kind of sugar found in high fructose corn syrup, by the way. The avocado addition is brilliant.

  • As a chef, that is NOT ganache. What the hell? Right up there with vegan 'cheesecake.' If you really want these things that bad, you shouldn't have changed your diet. You can't really substitute for the real thing. Its not the same. Its part of the sacrifice you make when you change your dietary habits. By definition, this isn't even cake. And no sugar, my ass. Since when was there no sugar in agave? Yeah, call me an asshole if you want, this isn't even cooking.

  • @kaschnozzle Yes, it's so much better to guarantee a slow and painful death with dairy because it's so much to have the real thing. No point in replicating it with food meant for human consumption instead of guzzling cow titty juice which you apparently love to do. Retard.

  • @LordAngus1992 but surely you guzzled your own cow mother's tits' milk when you were a child you dumb ass hypocrite.

  • @allthings509 I'm sorry you're raped on a regular basis, but take it out on me.

  • @kaschnozzle Ganache is just a name for an idea and there are different ways to express it in cooking. The usual chocolate and cream glaze/icing/filling is one way; Ani is merely showing us another way. Additionally, one of the definitions of "cake" is any molded or shaped mass of food. So by definition, this is cake. With respect to sugar, Ani meant that there is no added sugar in its extracted form. Lastly, this is a raw dessert. So yes, this is not cooking.

  • This was SO good. It was great to take to our family function, everybody really enjoyed it.

  • I wanna make this! It looks so good. Time to go to Whole Foods again~ =D

  • anyone know how long this cake will last? (ie- leftovers?)

  • @jazzymanbock a few days, did it on friday afternoon, still tasted amazing on sunday afternoon !

  • well, if you think it has too much sugar (fructose) for you then, don't eat it! lol

  • Mix milk, sugar, and avocado in a blender and drink it and it tastes good!!

But if u leave it out, it will fastly "expire" and taste like broken cheese or something

  • hahaha omg the lady called her cake bad on 4:34 lol but i don't think she meant it... im really tempted to try this though :)

  • Please read up on the Glycemic Load. many feel it provides a more accurate indicator then simple GI alone. Also, sugar isn't all evil! Dates are actually very good for you too!

  • I 've made this from the book but couldn't assemble it right, got all sticky... nice to see on video, will try it again.

    thanks :)

  • i love the icing idea! thats genius. i think of avacados as natures butter anyway lol.

  • I just made this and absolutely loVed it! Thanks :)

  • cheer up.

  • Wrong. The fiber and fat slows down the GI of the sugar, making it lower GI.

  • First of all, it depends on how many dates you are having. A few pieces with fatty nuts will not send your blood sugar through the roof. In fact, her dish has a high fat content, so it WILL slow down GI quite a bit. And to say that coke is better than dates makes no sense whatsoever. Coke is full of high fructose corn syrup and other harmful chemicals, which is ten times worse. Dates, on the other hand, can be healthy when used in reasonable quantities. Also, some high GI foods ARE essential.

  • Dates are CONCENTRATED with sugar. It's almost purely sugar. It's as if you are adding pure sugar to the cake. If it's "a few pieces" as you say, and if it's at the right time, it's not too bad. BUT for this cake, just look how many dates she used, and I dare you say it's "only a few pieces."

To be precise, she used 1 cup = 110g = about 75g of SUGARS added JUST FOR THE LOWER PART. That's a SHIT TON of sugar...

  • Once again, anything high in fat will slow glycemic response. That's a well-known scientific fact. Concentrated sugar? You don't know what you're talking about. Concentrated sugar has no fat or fiber, like white sugar. Dates contain fiber, which also slow down glycemic response. Also, fruit sugar is an insulin-independent monosachharide. I never said it was good to have too much sugar. I used the words "reasonable quantities." But even high GI foods are important, like to those who active.

  • Nice work, we liked your video very much so we embedded it on ChefCommons w/ link back and reference to Youtube. (Let us know if you don't wish for it to be featured)

  • Womans a genuis. I bought her dessert book and ive made some of the recipes, the pinapple lunch box desert was fab, this cake was lovely to. Shes an artist, really really knows how to put food together. Thanks ani :)

  • ani me and my mom made this cake for my b-day yesterday and it was so delicious!! my dad couldnt believe it was not cooked or anything! thanks for this :)

  • i ran into trouble eating raw vegan desserts, dishes in general - don't know whether it was because it was too much fat, concentrated sugar, no water, poor food combining, but not good to eat whenever and in whatever quantity.

  • I am curious, what trouble did your system run into?

  • the original health problem i had largely healed with fruits, fresh green juices, plain nuts...came back with the uncooked dishes. the two worst physical experiences of my life.

  • That looks absolutely awesome. I haven't gone raw at all, except to try to incorporate more raw items into my "regular" diet, but I have to try this one! Thanks!

  • That looks wonderful :)

I'm super excited for the new book too!

  • Question - my DD is anaphylactic to nuts (probably the only major obstacle to my RawJourney) and I was wondering if I could substitute the walnuts for any/specific seeds (like, pine nuts, pepitas, sunflower seeds etc?)

  • So I substituted the nuts for equal parts of pepitas/sunflower/pine seeds/kernels. Turned out brilliantly. I also added FINELY chopped dried apricots (I would've added cherries if I had them) and a touch of vanilla. Hubby reckoned it tasted just like panaforte but without the nutty chunks, and with the added bonus of the ganache icing/topping.

Amazing recipe. My outlaws are gonna love it, and not even KNOW it's RawVegan!

  • @OzBudgetBeauty Lol @ "outlaws". I'm sure I'll feel that way when I have some of those, myself.

  • Don't start a revolution, ignite the past!

    Good vid, thanks.

    Everyone please research HR1207 ASAP!

  • That looks SOOOOOO good! I've asked my husband to make me one of these for my birthday.

  • my husband never makes cakes for me!

good for you to have a husband like that!
