I have a shih tzu and she gets hiccups now and again. I find if I rub up and down her back squeezing my fingers with moderate pressure the hiccups go away instantly.

As an owner of a Shitzu mix ( a shih-poo is what we have) I search youtube for other people's videos of their shitzu & mixes to compare to my dog. so I think it's great seeing other people film their dogs silly behaviors as long as It's not in pain ~ our shih-poo hiccups a lot too after drinking it's water too fast. Seeing someone else's dog doing the same thing I feel better knowing it's probably normal & mine isnt' the only one! lol

@harveydents Give it some water, or you could just wait for it to end, they don't usually last that long with dogs. And they're not really all that serious, it's no big deal. :]

I always liked it when my shih-tzu got the hiccups because they were fun to cure. I would stand up and hold him with his back to me so we would be facing the same way. I would lean back a little bit holding him against me with his hind feet dangling and shake him just a little and very gently, and PooF! Hiccups gone! I always wondered if he appreciated that I could do that for him. Probably not. I've tried it with people too. Doesn't work on people though. Wish it did.
